Trae needs an epic interview where he addresses everything. That would be dope af. Wonder if he will ever do it. And do it with Donnie Houston for sure. Start from the very beginning and go all the way to now
Exactly! But u call out and ban trae .. idk what all happened but if madhatta gone tell the so called true story tell the whole story .. that yo associate blamed trae for it and it wasn’t traes fault
He’s minimizing Natte part but maximizing trae part. Natte was not professional approaching trae so why should he. Then he starts pandering talking black woman, white woman, while taking shots at trae. This dude is all cap
Natte says the shooting relates to the type of music Trae was making. Thanks to Sauce Walker which he admitted to being the shooter. That's what also got the Kracker Nuts let go from the 979 for playing Trae's music when asked not to.
I’m not a native Houstonian but I’ve followed this story from afar for a long time, it sucks that these kind of things have to fall out the way they do. Appreciate you giving a chance to bro to say his piece DH 🤘🏾
Hatta seems like a cool dude but this wasn't all the way accurate. I listened to that Trae interview live remember it like it was yesterday. One thing that always stood out to me was how Natay was trying to place blame on Trae for something two random groups of people decided to do at his charity even. I've always felt the notorious Mike Jones incident had alot to do with how Natay came at Trae 97.9 will never admit it but they had alot of love for Mike Jones.
Yes I remembered it as well. I felt Natae was in the wrong with her line in of questioning. Bun B called into the radio and corrected Mad Hatta and Natae on air. They still play Bun , and they banned Trae across the country.
Radio One banned Trae, and off the air threats were made. That's there job to ask questions and every artist knows that during a media run stuff will or may come at you sideways ...your job is to deflect question or respond in a sense to where you can benefit.. Trae cool guy but you have to note that when ppl don't know you and an incident at your event happens they're gonna cite your music or energy stirred the pot. The media can make you look guilty or innocent.... Of course they're gonna play Bun bcuz hes more respectful and reasonable to work with. Had he been a nuisance then, the recent rodeo might not have been the same.. I recall the interview as well, and it was poorly managed. First thing came to mind was, where was the PR play for Trae....apologize, acknowledge, accept.... Keep in mind this as well.... When artist do media runs, radio has a dirt digger - whether they know you or not; someone has to ask those questions...majority of the time it's to help you clear yourself vs negativity. Investors listen to said broadcast and have to know if you're worth teaming with. 9/10 most only see a press kit, followed by dirt..that's all they have to go on Had he not push the issue, start campaign,I'm sure Radio one would've dealt it differently. The streets ain't the radio, them checks from airplay add up... You ain't getting a bag from CD player spins....
@@GuttaBoyTV I think you heard a different interview or read it, because if you heard it live you could hear how she was relentless coming at Trae. He tried to play it cool when she first ask, then she got a little aggressive. Speaking being professional, she was very unprofessional and out of line. If you didn't know Trae is a free concert where he raise money for the kids and not once did she mention that. All she could focus on is shooting and loud music. He couldn't let her basically blame him on the Air that he had nothing to do with. While saying all that, Trae Day was in 3rd Ward that year and she acting like it's Memorial or something. It's way worst things go on over there everyday. Hatter should have cut her off and nipped that in the bud. He was well seasoned and he could tell it was heading in a bad direction. But oh I forgot Hatter did try a defuse the situation but she cut him off, over talking him like she really had something to get off her chest. The radio station should have deciplined her. After she said what she said you can't turn around a demonize Trae far what he Saif in responding. I know he had to deal the law enforcement and others before the interview and she trying promote that message on live radio. Then to make matters worst, they banned him from Radio affecting the Man's Livelihood. Of course he's going to go on a campaign slandering her, especially since they were still on the air denying their wrong and acting like Trae was villain. On top of that 97.9 had a bad track record of not supporting Houston artist. But hey, Trae was successful with out them and then he brought another Radio station to Houston. Funny how she was fired a few years later. She never a great radio personality. She wasn't knowledgeable about the music biz and just a load mouth gossip artist. She gets perked up when ever they bring up drama. Basically yall affect a man's money while slandering his name on air, then act surprised how hard he coming at y'all. They how people are nowadays, Throw rocks then hide they Hands
Naw Hatta not keeping it all the way funky! We heard her. She was abrasive with her approach & wasn't professional with her questioning. I low key understand the loyalty of riding for your co-worker, but don't paint no "black woman disrespected" narrative KNOWING DAMN WELL she mishandled that. Super disappointed in this answer. Coulda been a chance to mend something right there. Whole lotta pride/ego involved with this one...typical 🤘🏾ouston fallout behavior.
Facts! He’s done A LOT for this city. Giving back, out there rescuing people during hurricane Harvey, charity work. Him dissing some obese masculine chick on the radio 15 years ago means nothing to me.
Naw Hatter I heard that interview. Natae was charging Trae up the whole Trae Day. Basically in so many words she blamed him for cars swangin down her parents street, loud music and the shooting. He answered her the first time but she just kept at him and her tone was outta line. Not saying she should be he but she was all the way wrong. Then the radio station took her side which made it worst. And cut it out Hatter Trae was the hottest in the city at the time and yall not putting him on the radio. Yall costing him more than a Million
Madd stop the malarkey. That black woman disrespected a black man but he supposed to sit there and take it? Man please. Meanwhile there is a famous rapper who did the action but I bet you don’t have that same energy for him.
We live in Houston too, we know what happened maybe not all the behind the scenes, but Natate was wrong af for how she came off and accused Trae for what happened. But no accountability for what she said. Or did, but u mad a nigga CALLED u a B, so mad that u try to end his career.
Hatton keep saying a white woman came to a black woman's defense. Well damn that was days later. Hatton was there at the time of the said wrong doing. Why didn't a brother ( Hatta) come to a black woman's defense! At the end of the day ppl call each other bit*hs every day. But this one time you get in your feelings! Smh God's to do better and stay tf out ur feelings! #HOH #24 #74 #🤘🏾 #🇮🇱
@@lucky4u697 exactly! He kept tryna give that white woman praise and for what!? Sje was coming to the aid of A Black Woman, Her and her company was profiting off of it too secretly
Calling that woman out her name is totally unprofessional. If someone was to really care about their career, they would have held their tongue. The radio stations have the keys to the kingdom.. either play by the rules or don't promote your shit at the radio stations. Simple. And lets be clear, the artist in question hasn't made anything worth listening to in over a decade. Z-Ro still run these streets and always have.
@@qualityentinc.3397 Trae aint in a profession where someone pays him to bite his tongue and watch what he say. The root word is accountability my friend, and we all have to hold that one day
You can fool outta towers hatta, but not me. Im houston born & raised , and I remember nata talking shit about trae the whole week after tsu incident. So its cool for radio ppl to blame & discredit....but trae can't respond??? And hatta wonder why ppl don't like his corny a** 🤣🤣🤣🤣 #Htown4life
I’m sorry but imma ride with Trae on this one… at the end of the day Hatta is a company man and he didn’t get to where he was by accident…Trae is from H-Town and always represents… ole girl was being messy and oh well…and for Hatta to be bringing up the white lady defending a black woman is beyond suspect…we only use the calling black women bitches thing when it’s convenient…
Donnie Houston please bring Trae up there I definitely want to hear his side of this. I don’t think he would purposely call someone out of their name with out it being a reason and he not telling everything on how matte was Portraying everything when he came up there
Two things can be true. They tried to, as a corporation, ruin Trae's career. They did it because they felt justified. It's times like these where Donnie Houston starts to sound like an educated professional. Subscribe
He Ruin his own career bro! I understand your a supporter. If you knew a grain of how these rappers really are in real life out here you will have a change of heart!
At one point the city was unified . Remember in zros music video they where wearing 979 the box shirts . Lil flip I can do that video had almost every one in it. In Houston and the south East it was all about htown . Nothing else mattered . Then as soon as the spot light hit us it just fell apart . Paul and cam split , No one took flips back on the TI beef , Mike Jones got stole off by trea at the ozone awards in front of all the whole hip hop community , Trae signs with T.I.s label . Big moe passed hawk passed . Felt like everything just crumbled . In the big picture TI rubbing his hands together cause Atalanta never went through stuff like this . He tried his hardest to make htown look bad by going against flip for the “king of the south “ hell his whole album is called king . I just remember a point in time when it was all good . Late mid to 90s early early 00s .
Facts and I didn't like the way Scarface set up there and lied on Flip talking about he wasnt from Sunnyside. Scarface looked real weak for siding with Tip during that Beef. Just because Tip was hot and Face was just trying to ride the wave.
@@marshallnash5705 yeah that was some h** s*** Face pulled. He did that because they tried to sign flip to Def Jam South. Face was the President of the company at the time and Flip went with Universal. He was salty about it and pulled weak s***
@@marshallnash5705 Face got rightfully called on his bullshit for it. D-Red, C-Note, Will Lean & others did. Red said that Face’s own family said that he pulled some weak shit for that.
The whole situation was lame as hell. I don’t condone any of the fuckery. But we can’t just fault one side. Nette wasn’t being very professional at all questioning why the event was held where it was. It was driven by her own personal emotions on the matter. The man responded with the same type of motive that her line of questioning was rooted in.
Ro dropped the ball. He had classic albums that 97.9 wouldn’t play 1 song but now at the end of his career they wanna sho love. Keep that same energy when you see Trae.
I remember this differently. I remember it like DH they were putting the shooting situation on Trae and Trae was saying that dude wasn’t with them. If I’m not mistaken wasn’t the shooter Walka 😂. That’s two different crews
This is kinda hypocritical. Zero had a song on the radio called I Hate you bi***. I'm pretty sure that was being said to a black woman as well. I love Zro an Trae but they're both pretty disrespectful. Y'all played that song non stop on y'all station. I remember
He was talking about his bm, y'all really be nitpicking when it comes to music. Y'all will say i don't like when they use bih/ho, but turn up when wap comes on. There is always magic 102.1
@@77waygodh11 who is y'all? Please dont group me in with anyone unless you want me to start grouping you as well. I said what I said. By the way I do Not listen to WAP. You have me confused with ya mammy
This honestly is the biggest BS I ever heard. If that was the case you wouldn’t agree with 75% of the music on the station. She actually blamed him for the shooting, which was not his fault. Mad Hatta you stood behind wrong and I’m not a Trae Music fan. Now I do agree the lawsuits were wack!
Yea I never heard the actual interview with trae before so I was giving him the benefit of the doubt, but as soon he started that "somebody said something to a blk female" stuff I knew he was full of bs. And he kept repeating it as if that was supposed to mean something. People do that to get sympathy and take the attention away from what was actually said. Tf does her being blk or a female have to do with anything?
@@user-zw6mb9sj7k Yeah he knew what he was doing…He is in media so he’s a pro at spinning stories! The woman in the middle of it was totally out of line! He tried to use that but they played music that demeaned women all day on that station with no problem.
Two sides of a story......good hear both sides 💯 DH for interview very good sir this 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Never trust a narrative!!! either way much love Houston Rap scene in 90s 2000s was the best to me
No reason to blow up and pour that energy into a whole mixtape. People always are gonna say or ask questions. You just have to answer it to the best of your ability. I was hoping for this interview and Donnie came through S/O to Donnie H 🤘🏿!
Im from Birmingham..i ain't got a dog in the fight..but i grew up on Houston and Dallas rap music..i watched that whole movement go down the drain because of hate..i heard that interview and ole girl charged Trae up from the beginning..both parties were wrong but you can't erase all the good Trae does for the city..half them rap niggaz and radio niggaz aint coming out their crib..let alone using their own vehicles to help people in floods or other natural disasters..when y'all start matching that man and his organization efforts I'll listen to what you gotta say
Nah Donnie you shouldn’t let him of the hook. He should say something it wasn’t promo she was called out her name because she was being disrespectful while asking the question. It’s never right disrespect anybody. He can’t control what or who was shot m shooting at that event. It’s obvious to Ro had his on gripes with Trae. If it’s not what we think it is don’t not tell us. That’s stupid stop dancing the fans went completely on what was said in the media only. Y’all bullied that man when he was just trying to do something for the community.
Donnie took it easy and didn’t press… all over B word which is second nature now 🤦🏾♂️ Cancel culture before cancel culture… true pettiness that need to be put in past
He answered it and it wasn’t what she wanted to hear…That was bad commentary on her part! 🤷🏾♂️ I don’t think it was because she was female, it’s because SHE was badgering him! He got angry and sure he didn’t have to call her out her name but damn! I get him standing up for her though…I don’t condone threats of violence on Trae’s part, if any, but it seemed that they stopped playing his music because of him verbally losing his cool when he was being harassed on air...No one says anything about that though. I don’t think Hatta being 💯 about that situation.
This guy is bending the truth I can’t respect that how come nobody has addressed how the person who actually did it get played on the radio but the guy who hosted the family event was blacklisted?
I remember that morning like it was yesterday and Nete was out of line. I stopped listening to the Box for about three years after that happened. She was making light of the situation and Trae told her he ain't going to let her play with him like that. He was being serious and she was trying to be funny. Smh...that was messed up.
Oh , well hearing another side of the story is eye opening. I get Mad Hattas position to a degree. I remember that interview tho and the context he gave from Nate wasnt accurate. She didnt sau anything out of pder but it was tje accusational tone in her questions. Yrae did get out of line because he wasnt media polished as he is today and i bet hed do it differently if he could cuz he still is affected to this day on Houston air waves. I hate how that happened. On the flipside tho it adds a little more context to the Zro and Trae beef so to speak. If what he says about Ro takin the opposite side of Trae, I can see where that also could hsve widened the gap between the two. I wonder why neither ever mention it. 🤣🤣prolly cuz it dont sound to cool to hear Trae saying "man that nicca didn take my side and went against me and sided with that bih" .....i can see that playing a role in the situation that is never mentioned outwardly.
He puttin zro in shit that had nothing to do with ro Controversy sells.. Trae even said he didn’t want anybody he is cool with to have to decide if they should mess with him or not if it came to losing spins get ya spins .. he didn’t care N ro of all ppl he know ro gone always do what the fuck he wants do .. it would have been surprising if ro did ride with trae .. Trae n ro beef is about a issue with jayton.. Plus ro bipolar anyway dougie d even said in his interview ro would flip out on them for no reason Ro n trae ain’t got shit do with 97.9 Hatta on the outside lookin in .. Anybody with sense will know that
The fact that some of yall think it was Hattas decision is crazy. The person who made the decision probably still works there and until she is gone will probably never hear Trae voice on 97.9.
I don't believe Mad Hatter saying Trae didn't want to be questioned by a woman.... that sounds sexist...I don't believe that... I just believe she asked the questions that he didn't have nothing to do with it and he didn't want to answer I'm glad you not at the radio station no more... and I have the same mixtape that he dropped he called her that after everything went down not out the blue after 97 9 basically dissed him and disowned him that's when he dropped the mixtape and that boy PIMP C went off on her
Listening to Hatta explain it, I definitely see how he can be angry at Trae. However, a lot of comments say he's not telling it how it really happened so idk. Big time Trae fan tho
I think the main reason so many people are mad at Hatta is he won't give to hem any radio play on the Box even though he be is not the program director What Hatta got to realize is he was in the streets doing his radio thing for the Box and with that he became the face of the Radio station and a friend of the streets He became the radio and the radio won't play our music so it is his fault even though he is not a DJ or a program director
Is the a record of the Trae interview that Hatta is sayin started it all? Someone should put together a video with the interview and the song where he calls her a B. And then put pieces of this interview.
Naaaaah Nette hated the entire trae day event...she was overly critical and real aggressive towards trae...trae said ,"you not gonna play with me...im not gonna let u play with me" and Nette kept at it. White woman / black woman narrative is a smoke screen spin job by hatta. Got love for hatta but he still a company man even now.
This needs to be fixed, Texas cannot move forward if we don’t heal. It is not just about them it is us Texas we can do better let’s fix this it has gone on too long SMH
Madd Hatta told the real “Truth” salute! How come so much bad shit happens to such a extraordinary guy riddle me that? It’s called Karma duh. People are so naïve. What’s done in the dark will always come to the light. Just like the Mike Jones situation. Let’s not expose that situation Donnie God bless dude but he wasn’t right back in the day. So I feel Hatta I don’t listen to none of his music because I know the real aswell. I use to be in the industry back then. R.i.p. Mr Kaila Wrecking Yard OG!
Y’all crazy thing is I remember that interview that morning I listened to it live riding to PV. Trae spazzed the questioning was no different than any radio host. While I commend what he currently does in the city shit the country. That day he tripped out. When they said he music wouldn’t be played no more,I thought 🧢 still today ain’t heard a heard one throwback.
I listended to that show live like everybody else and Natte was all the way wrong in the way she blamed Trae for something he didnt have a hand in. For Hatta to talk about defending a black woman is interesting considering him and J-Mac would excessively insult and roast her on-air damn near daily. Now the fall out and mass exodus of 97.9 personalities after this happened is even more insane, considering Hatta was claiming Natte was in the right. Not all of 97.9 radio personalities/ employees agreed.
“Now the world hating on me like nnette fat a**” …..lol side note trae lowkey the reason 93.7 the beat in htown i remember that brkfst club interview wen he said its only one rap station in htown and right after that boom we got 93.7
Why you lying… she verbally attacked that man and blamed him for something he had nothing to do with. SHE CAME AT HIM DISRESPECTFULLY… woman or not black or not, SHE WAS WRONG !!! I was at Tré Day. He did his concert and left, people being ignorant caused that NOT HIM!!! Furthermore the situation also touched others on the station like Brandi Garcia just because she played a song at an event that had NOTHING to do with 97.9.
