I used to played this on the GameCube Verison I'm quiet surprised that the graphics are so amazing this is the reason playing old school Madden nfl game are way much better then the newer Madden nfl game

Madden 2001 on the PS2 was the start of the golden age of Madden, while 2002 brought it to the GameCube and XBOX. This was also the first Madden that featured the Houston Texans, albeit not exactly looking like how they would a year later. I just picked up this game on the GameCube and it’s great! To this day, this is the only Madden that features an expansion draft. It’s understandable why this is the case, but it would be amazing if we got this feature in future titles. You have the option of either choosing the Texans or your own created team as the expansion team. You are also able to use coaches on any team you want. You could have Bill Belichcik coach the Detroit Lions or something like that. The best team in the game is Baltimore with a shocking 99 OVR! This was truly a great game, but not exactly a masterpiece, as I wouldn’t say the series ever reached that status until Madden 2004.

The GameCube was the first console that I bought at launch with my own money. I remember I picked up Luigi's Mansion, Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader, and this game. I would sometimes just let this menu-track play while I was doing other-things it was so cool.
