If a coach knew that a player had a condition like that scene in high school and still allowed him to play, that coach would be fired and never allowed to coach again
So let me get this straight...Guy has a heart problem at QB, So to help him out they make him a WR? He has to run a hell of a lot more at WR then QB...Thanks coach for giving me a heart attack lmfao
They don’t make him WR, he makes that choice himself after getting cleared by doctors. Still stupid, but this dude got all of the high school stuff wrong
@@Bill4290 I was just going off what Ryan was saying and he says in the video THEY move him to WR. I wouldn't know the plot because i haven't bought an EA product in like almost 11 years. :)
I love how I can throw for 700 yards in the championship game and still lose the QB battle to someone who just recovered from a life threatening disease because EA is to lazy to implement the option to change positions properly.🙃
Digital Link Bk Gaming IKR. If I lose the QB battle, at least have the option for me to transfer to a different school instead of forcing me into the NFL draft if I chose not to change positions.
Also, he had a heart defect. If he got a transplant he could never play in college or the NFL again, especially because of what happened to Gaines Adams.
I would love ideas on this but these are some of my ideas: 1. You get recruited but the team you pick has recruited a top qb. The coach recommends switching positions or you could try fighting for the starting spot (you get the starting spot senior year but due to a lack of experience you may not get drafted high) 2. You get injured at qb and the team brings in a hot shot freshman forcing you to switch positions. 3. You start at running back or wide receiver and the qb gets injured. You have some experience so they decide to go with you. It also would have been cool to be able to be a gadget type player, similar to a Taysom Hill
It would be even better if you could CHOOSE your position on either sides of the ball, or both in high school like ncaa used to do. But nope as you said, they are lazy
@@jwizzy412 I agree and madden has become even more cheese than ever with the x factors and the crazy jukes and every other run is a friggin fumble realistic my ass lol
@@prodigy_grasshopper6826 so you like a game mode that's this trash? If so then at least you go through life never disappointed cause you have shit standards.
Honestly, I just want superstar mode from Madden 08: - Picking your parents/DNA - IQ test - Combine - interviews - Movie roles/reading lines - hiring an agent - Going through the draft - Training Camp - Grading in every play/XP earned for in game boosts - Team Role that could make other players better on your team or opponents worse. Literally so much more than “Connected Franchise” 🙄
I also loved that the camera view was kind of from the players point of view almost....not first person but just behind you....felt really good playing as a DB and getting picks
it’s the fact that we had ALL of this in 2007 and 13 years later there are kids who think a game mode of: Pick team/position, play games, respond to texts is a GOOD career mode?!?!
"Choose Your Own Adventure" books from the 90s were more interactive that this. So, you're basically making decisions for results that remain the same? I don't get the point.
EagleZtoTheGrave because choose your own adventure books The people who made it want to have you have a opportunity to create your own storyline and have your own decisions that that would have effect with madden EA did not put enough time and effort into the storyline to make it interesting you still would’ve lost or one and it will be the same and the main problem I have a Ea is why would you put the yard in a broken game and second question EA why would you make a storyline about a person playing high school if they’re winning or losing it’s going to be the same storyline
@Wired for Understanding For real tho its insane how a billion dollar company only has like 3 team MUT team Superstar KO and The Yard and Franchise mode and Face of the Franchise like cant you get more teams to work on your game you are not the laughingstock of the fall and winter. like come on EA.
@Wired for Understanding I bet you that the only reason EA has good throwback (I guess I will call them) games are better then the games today is because EA Sports had another company making games was 2k Sports. And once 2k loss and EA won then EA Sports started making money only games essentially.
Ryan: One of the worst stories in all of sports gaming. Me: Forget sports gaming, it's one of the worst stories ever since books started in its inception. I could probably read a preschool book and it would better than this story in this mode.
Honestly EA should just make it no story just play 4 high school games, 2 College games, Then add like a whole draft combine kinda like the old superstar mode
In many cases though, with 2k, they essentially have something new when it comes to basketball ro highlight a certain idea. 18 they highlighted Asia ball, this year it was more so college ball with picking your school. They highlight a section of thr game to bring it more awareness and build the brand outside just the NBA league itself. With madden, it has no real purpose. Its just there then everyone gets drafted to the bears like its thr 2020 season. 🤣🤣
I don’t think the writers understand college football at all.... they also never heard of the transfer portal apparently. Also, teams usually force players to retire after you’ve been diagnosed with underline heart conditions... makes no fucking sense. It happened a few years ago with this one talented receiver for the hurricanes, his name escapes me, but they found something wrong with the heart and they forced him to retire from football while on the hurricanes team.
Brandon Coleman for your mo hurst, I raise you a nick fairly. Forced to retire because of his heart condition. The saints pretty much forced him to retire. Same with bosh and the Miami heat.
@@morrays1996 im just saying by saying "it makes no fucking sense" isnt in fact true when a player who is currently still playing had this exact thing happen, plus in the mode he was cleared by doctors just like mo hurst was. Its not unrealistic, it is however a shitty uninteresting story mode through hs and college and no decisions you make matter.
Physicals don't always catch heart problems....but the fact they keep playing hin after it's discovered is STUPID AS PISS. Irl, he would be made to quit football....
This mode never made sense lol Im SURPRISED they didn't add micro transactions to add a story line lol pay for your option lol. Choose your choice for an additional fee of course cause ITS NOT IN THE GAME LOL
@@mistermann3225 lol and here its congenital. Meaning caught at birth hahaha. This might be the worst medical storyline in the history of TV/films/gaming.
wait lol..... he's questioning the starter for not having heart but he himself hasn't had the heart to play since Pop Warner. Who wrote this? The dudes from game of thrones 😆
Thought of this story line literally in 10 seconds. You start off as kids become rivals in pop warner at QB or whatever and the kid taunts you after his team crushes you. They beat you in HS too and then he vows to go to your college rival and whoop that ass some more. Then you battle it out all 4 years of college for championships and end up in the league. There he starts a dynasty and you do the same and its just plain old football. No death just the simple case of a guy being better than you and you fighting your ass off to be better than him and practicing and etc. Have the games in HS and college on all madden to make it seem like the other team is crazy talented and you just go at it. Their stories dont have to be so deep
Lmao literally or just let us pick our position and draft pick like cfb 25 but pro obviously then we do combine meet our rival from high school and college (same guy) he goes to your rival nfl team ravens Steelers 49ers cowboys etc you can turn off story mode to and just play regular career mode
@@drzionsburneraccount5364 why is your name Dr Zion burner account you get a burn Dr Zion or something dude you going to toast them with your marshmallows come on dude he's not part of your happy meal when your toasting people you don't want to roast them that's all I got to say
Passing a high school physical with you heart hanging on by a string is great science fiction. Madden is just trying to expand. I think next year the story should follow a QB who lost both hands in a freak car accident as he was on his way to visit his dying parents in a hospice, and he promised his mom who is a huge Packers fan that he would play wide receiver or running back in the NFL. Maybe even add an alien abduction scene where he gets x factor hands implanted. I don't know, just spit balling here.
The players family is abducted by aliens and the only way to save them is by winning the Super Bowl with 400+ yards and no sacks against clones of JJ Watt and Aaron Donald with either the Seahawks or Colts O-line.
Besus Bro I cant wait for the QuickTime event where your player decides to go to Subway and you gotta slide your credit card at the register, which charges you $35 in real life.
because why go out when u can download it at the crib most people have no intention of trading it in until the new one comes out so its a waste of time to go to gamestop
So I’ve watched about 3-4 you tubers play Rise to Fame The main problem with EA is that they give you two options and regardless of choices or play on the field the story is the same. Let it focus on the actual player (user) this entire story is about Tommy think about it. He’s the starter, he has a health issue, he follows you to college to win his position back. He’s in the hospital, he begs you to come back for another year. Simple fix EA Have 3 choices at the beginning of the story mode QB RB WR Have at least 3 different story lines with each, Example QB -family tradition, bench warmer, instant star Have the play on the field actually dictate and change drafting scenarios. If you go un-drafted have a scenario where you work hard in the off season and get called to a workout to show up for bad teams. Simple fixes seem to be too hard for EA I came up with this comment in 5 minutes.
I said the same exact thing or have a option to play defense in high school hell let us play any position imagine him being the quarter back and you being a corner back or a linebacker or something like that
People who play "Career Modes" on other games like MLB, NHL on even NBA & FIFA do a better job just making things up based on how they play & what happens. People make up better story lines when doing Franchises on older games, Coach Dawkins or Uncle Sam's Reject, Mr Hurricane, & others do great stories for characters on their team/s !!!
bro this storyline kills me, because my football playing "career" was almost sidelined when I was 12 over a benign heart murmur. no one is playing football after multiple open heart surgeries lmfao
Longshot was the best version of all these so far...The Face of the Franchise is poorly written and Super Cringe, the Sick Girl last year and now your Teammate has a Heart Problem but somehow team Doctors never knew this man had a problem. Plus no matter how well you play the guy still gets the starting job lmaoo It's like they're trying to make us feel a connection to these characters....STOP IT, it's a Sports Game not an RPG like Last Of Us. They also try an force you to play another year of College even if you put up ridiculous stats because you'll be a late pick no matter what.
A better story would have been where this heart condition kept him from playing after he was sent to the hospital. You, as his friend, could then honor him by living with him and building your own career. The career that he could never have. Your friend could even have certain goals rise up as a way for your bond to grow or shatter, while also building the player you are making while in high school, college and even the NFL. This could also increase your ability to grow to being a superstar with the more goals you reach. This idea was just one I thought of at this moment. It is not hard to do something like this. Seriously EA.
Buy Madden every year but you are 100% right. Storyline as far as a "feel" good story is fine but overall it's a joke. Back and forth between not being able to stand Tommy and then remembering he's your best friend? After the apartment scene fight/ argument the story gets old and then throw in the fact that if you let fate decide where you go in the NFL you automatically get drafted by the Chicago Bears because of a glitch in the game so you have to pick your favorite team just not to go there is just stupid unless you're a fan of the Bears. Love Madden but by far the worst game of the franchise to date. Just throwing it out there MLB THE SHOW has also sucked in my opinion for the last 3 years.
NBA 2K20 MyCareer?IDK. WWE 2K20 MyCareer?Suck. NHL 20 Be A Pro?IDK. FIFA 20 Career Mode?Suck. I don't play those modern games because I have less money and have no consoles. I watch YT videos about every single sports games. From the Philippines.
You have a heart defect, you lose your starting job, you switch to wide receiver and some how you get a scholarship to play for a power house school as the starting quarterback. That’s not how this works. That’s not how any of this works. Like last year when you’re a highly touted recruit and then all of a sudden benched for 4 years because the next year they signed a 5 star recruit. At least give us the chance to beat the qb out or make it realistic....let me transfer
Thank you bro you just saved me 60$ I was going to buy madden tomorrow just to play face of the franchise but after watching your video you saved me $60+ and a trip to gamestop.
Also the 40yd dash in here is manipulated to be the exact same time every single time, depending on what position you play. If you press the buttons as fast or as slow as you can. You would still get the same time.
@@colinoesterle3517 on madden 08. U have to spam 'X' on playstation or on OG XBOX you spam 'A' to build up ur power to get a good 40 time. Like when u create ur guy and u do his attributes. U can set his speed however you want. I made a WR and I made his speed 97. And he ran a 4.2

If I made a story mode the players would stay going missing, then it's revealed that they're being kidnapped by terrorists, then (big reveal) the terrorists are actually... ALIENS?
This won't happen, but what if EA actually paid some money to a single player developer and made this game mode something to be proud of. I'm thinking Detroit: become human style story tree but its like 10 hrs max.
I don't mind if the story Is sad but it have to make sense. Maybe you and the QB are already best friends, he get sick and can't play so you step In, if you play well one of the big school get you and not a FCS school get you. So now it college, you pick your school, the doctor say the okay to your friend that he can play, so he took a walk on spot to be the 3rd QB on the team. So now you have some off field choices, like hanging out with your girlfriend and so on. The choices you make can make you play or get Suspended, if he get suspended, your friend step and play really well, now more choices happened. Like maybe he end up winning NC or you end up winning NC. then come draft time more choices come up. That way it get the player to play the game mean something and his choices. That what I want in face of the Franchise.
Face of the franchise is going to have the same fate as Longshot everyone that can't monetize it so they're not going to put any effort I mean literally when they have the word box same words their mouths don't say the words and then one the scenes panning out the words come it's so broken everything fix the Friendship is so broken you can literally be the worst quarterback ever and yet you'll still make it to the NFL honestly and I can't believe I'm saying this but I would rather have long shot then face of the franchise
I gotta say yes madden still has flaws and issues and bugs like the current formation sub one, annoying, and the zone coverage is still way wonky, leaving guys wide open, but all in all, overall, it seems to be better then madden 20, for reals, ive noticed things in 21 i didnt see in 20, Qbs move around more, take off running alil more, ball carriers will actually juke and go left and right and not just run straight, im not saying the game is way better now, but it just feels alil more normal then last years game, as crazy as it sounds, i like how sometimes they will throw outta a sack like in the past u will see a sack and think no way the qb should have gotten rid of it, and this year they actually have dead duck passes in the air when they are hit while throwing, again there is alot they could still change and do better job of, i hate this connected franchise thing or like u cant change which team u control during the game, why cant we change sliders during the game ? lil things, im doing a all 32 team cpu vs cpu just started 2nd week, i will say there was some games in week 1 that had me wondering alil like made me wonder if the better players and teams stand out more, cause the niners, ravens, seattle, packers and KC all lost, now granted it happens but they lost to teams i would have thought they would have beat, 75% of the time, but we will see how it plays out, all in all i give madden 21 a 6 and thats being nice, if they would add more franchise stuff and fix their damn formation subs maybe they would get a 6.5, 7 ok now that i think about it maybe a 5.5 right now haaa
them always having a player or side character being sick is so fucking weird. last year it was a kid with cancer and your receivers brother died from cancer too if, i remember correctly. Now a high school kid with a heart condition lmao give me a break
How tf does ea consider the heart disease kid beating out the stud for a qb battle simulation football? What about this simulates anything close to how real football teams operate?
Also why did they make the homecoming game the first game and at night? Homecoming is late in the season and the dance is at the night. Damn, EA can’t even get high school right
I don't get in 22 they don't use ur name in fof and after the draft there is no more to it you don't see ur agent or get that new house after your first big contract just stupid
EA never ever listens to the community as we said no to long shot. So EA doubles down and then puts in the yard while the gameplay is buggy and has very little logic. Its going to be a long 5 years and hopefully the NFL will open it up to other companies.
I have alot to say about my experience with this mode if you guys wanna read through my quick review of my experience with it.There is good and bad. First off, i absolutely agree with ryan for the HS/College portion of this mode. I had time to play through it twice on the trial. Story is a forced mess, its not fun and i tried to force different choices for different outcomes and alot of the results were exactly the same, so whats the point in giving us a choice. Secondly, i was a pocket passer the first time through and ended up with a qb drafted in the 4th rd with 75 speed acl agi. Second time i did everything i could to be a mobile qb all mobile qb dialogue answers and when drafted ended up with a 65 spd. It seems like nothing you do in this portion of the mode matters. On to the good. Once drafted by my favorite team the raiders i had to fight through scenarios to become the starter after doing really well i started to have more sway and was presented with choices along the way of who my mentor was(darren waller) who we traded for to build a dream team which ended up being (john ross, and allen Robinson) they become x-factors when they get traded to your team. I found these choices, scenarios and the effects of them to be surprisingly entertaining and cool. Its by no means perfect, but once i got to the pros the mode became increasingly more fun and actually playable. If they work on this mode with alot more scenarios and choices i think it has potential. The problem is the first part hs college is a disaster and choices dont matter enough. If i was you guys i would give it a shot and see what you think. That being said it still does not offer enough depth and realism as far as consequences were presented with as a result of our choices. There should also be a wider range of choice instead of just two options for every question your asked. Also would of loved to go through this story as a safety and not a qb/hb/ wr. If they develope a better story or multiple stories and have your choices matter more and make more real world sense this mode could be something in the future. Right now it falls short of what i would call a fun repeatable experience.
Yeah, I haven’t been able to finish it. The writing and impact of decisions, etc is terrible. Once u get thru the first situation, the rest is terrible. I blew out every team that I played, this is just terrible. This may be worse than long shot 2. Unreal EA
