Madden 24 Official Gameplay! 

Madden just looks more real to life.

I love how the defense react to the ball in zone coverage so they are not just standing around

The drops should come down to your catching in traffic. I'm all about the defense forcing drops on bang bang plays but some of the really good players do make those catches

I played the beta and one thing I like is on madden 23 and before is when you throw the ball to your receiver it plays an animation that slows your receiver down and allows the defense to catch up to you. And now in madden 24 when you throw the ball to your receiver it lands directly in there hands and there able to keep running just like real life

I don’t think it’s heavy on the drops. Because In the nfl there are a lot of dropped incompletions. In madden in past years qbs would go 27-31 every game

they gotta find that sweet spot w jumpballs i think adding boxout animations and having a rating for that would be good

The drops may get annoying at times, but it is definitely more realistic. It makes the crazy catches more special.

Still didn't see a few things that i enjoyed from past Maddens. 1. A possibility of challenging a play, without having to press the pause button. 2. A solid tackle where the helmet gets knocked off. 3. Back in madden 07 - 12 you would see the fans leave the game if their team was losing, ugh that was the best feature. Last but not least 4. The Cheerleaders!! If their is ONE thing that says MERICA its Cheerleaders bring that back EA!! We know they are capable of it!

From playing the beta, one thing I really liked was how smooth the pass and catch is. The receiver feels like they catch and run the route very fluidly.

My favorite part last year was when the computer O-line would block my rushers for 15+ seconds followed by the QB throwing it 60 yards to a wide open breaking WR.

I can already see millions of drop passes everything seems way better, but dropping passes a lot

I think the game is gonna come down to disguised coverages and well timed blitzes. Obviously, good tackling from users and reading run vs pass properly is going to be key this year. I've been off Madden for a while but this year looks amazing from a realism and franchise position

I love that even tho they’re making defense more realistic there’s still runs where u break tackles and bust runs for 40yards bc not only does that happen irl at the end of the day it’s still a game and it should have some wacky lucky plays like that

My first play through is always a cb and it’s so good seeing an improvement on zone coverage. It felt like even when player controlled, my character would go 0 iq when it came to breaking up passes and just wrapped up instead of smacking the ball and wrapping up like you’ll see in previous maddens. Now I know they did it to balance it but in 23 it felt like you could throw it in man coverage and if the receiver has a high enough catch rating, you could just chunk it to him and they will catch and Immediately just tackle

I like the drops… a high pass isn’t an easy throw to make. It has to be perfect or it’s out of reach for your guy and picked. So I’m not upset about. It’s was OP last year.

The thing I liked the most about the beta was that the crowd was so immersive

Why can't we get like a halftime show back in the day where they had an actual halftime show. The game's got to get more involved like it used to like ESPN and all that old games were the best

The pass rush was way over powered last year. Good to see it take about 3 or 4 seconds for it to start getting crazy. All madden last year I got sacked every play barley had 2 to 3 seconds with amazing tackles like wirfs.

My fav thing is that visually it looks a lot like 19,20,21,22 and 23…very nostalgic

I love that it shows the player name after the touchdown, a nice realistic touch. Might actually buy this Madden instead of waiting until it goes to game pass 🤣

Something I hate about is a slight delay when u pick plays. From pressing a button and the game registering it and going to the next action. Just makes the game feel sluggish and laggy. It’s small but it’s before every play so it’s a big deal to me.

I like that wide receivers do not catch high balls all the time whether their rating is high or not. To me it’s more realistic. Kelce does have drops that are easy and wide open it happens.

Glad to see the qb throwing motion got better

As a db irl, I love that the coding has them think if the ball is out of reach then they go for the swat or the receiver, or if they can, they go for the ball, just like real life, I’m happy that ea doesn’t have us dbs looking THAT dumb this year.

Tackle animations still look the exact same 😭

Tbh, I’ve been pretty hesitant on getting madden this year, but the gameplay upgrades look pretty solid. Love the way zone defenses are reacting and the running after catch is looking more fluid. But I also feel like throwing animations are looking clunky at times and weird 😂 idk. I’m willing to give 24 a shot tho

It’s interesting to see how zone played. Looks like it can make people hesitant to make certain throws they used to make in previous years because the DB is going to play it better. With the 4 man rush, unless they’re godly lineman I don’t mind that not getting much pressure. People should have to adjust and not play brain dead

iv took 4 years away from madden, Im excited to active with this one. The Defense awareness looks more realistic.

Man if they actually spent time this year on pass rush and pass blocking this game looks like it could of been one of the better maddens in a long time. Hopefully thats a focus for next year

Drops should be based on the receivers catch in traffic rating to the DB’s pass break up rating (if they even have that for DB’s) I like the reactions of the DB’s but some of those passes can be caught. It’s not like it’s a surprise for WR to make contested shots here and there.

Last madden, there were too many high ball knock-out animations too. Any time their feet left the ground, they were gonna drop the ball if they got hit.

Looks like double moves and fades breaking press routes are back to beating man coverage. Inside Zone plays giving me madden 17 vibes. I wouldn't be surprised if this year's defense is cover 3 match plays/ cover 3 zone blitz. Cover 3 and 4 show plays might be effective as well.

Im glad they changed the scoreboard to show the down and distance in the middle instead of whichever team has the ball

If you look at that last play to Kelce you can see the defense had the momentum so maybe the stadium abilities make it harder to catch. Plus he was lowly triple covered..he woulda got smashed if he caught it.

Linemen look sooooooo much better. I remember that last year they all looked so fat in there belly and it just looked weird. I also remember injured players that says "out for game" or "out for multiple weeks" and then then the next play they would be back and it was kinda annoying especially if they were against you and really good.

What this video sounded like to me was, "So this year you can't complete any passes, so they addressed that" 😂

Honestly, given last year and the updates this year, we could have a truly good madden in 2-3 years for the first time in over a decade

if they improve pursuit and tackling and block shedding by the ai on defense and let maybe 35% of those late knockouts get held onto for the catch the id be ok w the default gameplay sliders

Played the beta, gameplay feels almost identical to 23 tbh. Thenonly difference is the scoreboard. Minor tweaks to coverages but overall, no major changes between the sidelines.

Also would love to pick your special teams players positions , slater was never a gunner or who sets up where on KRs

Under center will definitely be ran more this year I see this being a single back year your gonna have to run a lot more

i like how the refs are in the game. hopefully they make it so we can rock them for calling bad plays

I felt like 23 found that sweet spot with free form and high point passing. Not sure why they would change the effectiveness of the high ball. And yeah I could see the drops coming from a mile away with them trying to showcase the "hit everything" features. Will be running the ball like mad in month 1
