Madden NFL 21 is NOT GOOD - Review 

Sorry about the low quality game footage. I did a livestream so you guys could experience the game with me while I played it for the review, and RU-vid decided to heavily compress the visuals so that they look awful. But hey, I'm not going to play this terrible game for another few hours just to get higher quality footage. So hopefully you guys still find this to be a good video. Also, because I'm sure some of you are wondering, I signed up for a one month subscription to EA Play Pro on PC, which gave me the full game, not a trial, for $15. So no, I didn't waste $60 on this mess, and that's how I got the game early.

Remember when Madden 15 had Richard Sherman with an arm sleeve on the cover but you couldn't actually use arm sleeves until Madden 17

I did face of the franchise, chose Lamar Jackson to model my character after, ran a 4.46 at the combine (as everyone has) and I went to the NFL. My qbs speed was........65. 65? How?

Even IGN gave this year's game a 6, and was highly critical of how the series has stagnated. I was very surprised/pleased to see that.

Honestly all sports games this console generation have fallen of a cliff, I blame the advent of micro transactions and my team modes, greed took priority over improving of gameplay

This is the most honest review I've seen of Madden thus far. Our group hasn't played in a about 10 years and we decided to get into it this year and start up a franchise with fantasy draft. Everything about the game was awful. Being forced to create a player for a game mode I don't care about, then being forced to have to look at that a**hole the whole time you're in menus is ridiculous. I'm not sure how he forgot to talk about the sound track but WHOA. That is a dumpster fire for sure. Worst sound track of any sports game I have ever played. The fantasy draft is terrible, I thought I recalled back in 2010 being able to see a full draft board and see who was drafted by which team drafted them and in which round, etc. Not any more. Also you can't see the draft order, so if you only have 10 players in your league, it's a mystery when the AI is drafting. It also failed to give you an option to scout players before the draft. So you better be ready and hope you don't accidentally draft someone who is out for 46 weeks with an injury. Seriously, this game is so disappointing. We haven't played in so long because frankly, everyone hates EA. EA has consistently ruined this franchise and most any other franchise they touch. Welp, congrats EA, you got our money this year. We will absolutely be jumping ship once someone else releases a football game. This is a great example of what happens when someone has a monopoly. It went from something they took pride in to something that just feels lazy and uninspired.

If they copy and pasted Madden 08 with updated rosters and graphics I would be way more satisfied than with Madden 21.

In madden 19 they said they didn’t have “Enough mega” to include each helmets for every different team in the pro bowl, yet 2 years later with the pro bowl included they add a million things on the yard, even mouth guard! Can u believe this company? I hate this company with all of my heart.

The best thing about the yard is that there’s no offensive line, so Madden’s broken ass offensive line AI isn’t showcased.

The Yard seems to be exactly like what Volta is in FIFA 20. An attempt to capture the magic that the EA Sports BIG games of the mid 2000s had, but absolutely nullified by the game's core gameplay

It is a souless 60$ patch with no love put into it. When will people wake up and stop spending money on the new copy and paste each year with minimal effort on changes. And today's world of patches, making the necessary changes to the roster to reflect the current year is a simple matter of a patch, but then they'd lose out on the 60 per game they make each year from the suckers that buy them.

I have been playing madden for years and this the first time that I will not be buying it I will not throw away my money for a game that EA refuses to make better

Madden could make the most in depth and expansive franchise mode, career mode, and whatever else, and it wouldn't matter because the gameplay has been absolute dogshit for as long as I can remember, and that's like punching the bottom of a jenga tower.

I haven't bought an EA madden game in many years. If I do again, it will have: Fully custom teams. if I want to make my own league with my own logos that I import from images off my PC, then I should be able to do that. In the 2000's I COULD do that. Custom build my own stadium. Used to be able to do this to a limited degree. Announcers that aren't repetitive A highlights show that shows me replays not just from my game, but from other games around the league. Trading system that makes sense No games modes that are basically gambling for children.

I'm sure you know you can create a team in NHL and those logos are literally some of the logos from NHL... smh

The metacritic score from critics is even worse than Madden 06 on the Xbox 360, and the user score almost 0. Credit to IGN for not giving the same copy-paste review they do every year, and actually being honest for once. They still gave it a 6/10, but hey, why don’t we just call this a “step in the right direction” for them

I am a HUGE football fan and was once the guy always at the midnight madden release at GameStop. Yet now I haven’t bought madden in 7 years because of exactly what you cover in this video. First year I haven't bought Madden in as long as I can remember. Played the 10 hour trial on EA access for 2 hours and turned it off, loaded up Madden 20 and shockingly had a much better experience. Not to say that Madden 20 is a good game but at least I didn't have to waste another £55 on the same absolute trash.

I'm a Fifa fan and dw you're not alone. Fifa is also ridiculed when its dropped and is dead after toty (team of the year). This promo targets naive kids who fall into their 'pay to win' scheme, which is promoted by popular RU-vidrs who pull millions of views. Although they slander EA at times, they too are a massive problem as they only show good packs among the thousands of shit ones. Anyone who reads this, if you're gonna buy an EA game make sure you boycott them in terms of microtransactions.

They haven’t changed madden for over 15 years. Minor tweaks at most. It’s a money-making scheme. They don’t change the HORRIBLE game engine. When you play, you don’t FEEL athletic. It feels like your character is held down to the field by rubber bands. Not comical like nba street or “arcade” type games, so hold your “go play that game”. Too much focus on animations. You don’t feel like you are hitting someone, dodging someone or outrunning someone. Your “time” on the controls is limited, meaning, you make a move and then the animations take over, when you aren’t actually controlling the player. Too many O linemen running down dbs after an interception, too many celebration focused animations, too many micro transactions, I could go on and on. And the music is usually terrible. Bad hip hop and auto tune pop music. I haven’t bought madden in over ten years and probably never will until they change the game engine and it feels like you are playing football.

I am 29 years old. I have been playing Madden since 01 I would say. And the last time I actually enjoyed Madden was Madden 05 with Ray Lewis on the cover. It has not been good since then. Keyword: GOOD. I have played Madden every single year since then. I think I have extensive knowledge of the game and hands on. When I tell you Madden needs to be burned to the ground and started from scratch or just buried for good, I'm not joking. Madden 21 is the first Madden I will not be purchasing. Nothing can get me to buy this game. I'm SOOOOO glad the community is putting their foot down. I'm so glad ryanmoody21 is finally getting the attention he deserves in bringing awareness and constantly pointing out the flaws of this game. I'm greatful for this honest video. "The Yard" isn't even new, it was in one of the older Wii versions of the game

As a European who has gotten into (American) football the last couple of years but has been a lifelong soccer fan, I assure you that while FIFA is bad, worse and less deep than it used to be, animation-based, predatory and manipulative, and inferior to PES in many ways, it's CONTINENTS ahead of Madden! omg I was aghast upon trying Madden 20, my first Madden ever, and could not believe how poor it actually was. For all it's faults, FIFA has fun and relatively functional core gameplay despite being animation heavy merely because soccer is less complex to simulate. Madden is straight broken!!! since animations are much more prominent, everything is broken! every tackle, every player movement... is wrong! but they even mess up other basic things that FIFA (or, any game for that matter) gets more or less right, like how can they mess up the helmet collision clacks?! go listen to those sounds in 2K8!
