from EA's business perpsective, i mean its just highway robbery. The ROI is insane. They barely touch their own game. They've been caught literally copying and pasting assets that have the previous 2 years banners. They have a couple interns update the rosters, a couple guys ad a new "feature" which is just saying the features name a lot and throwing up some graphics.... bam.... 70 dollars. And by the way, if you want to play the mode we want you to play, give us well over 70 if you want to win because we'll make your life miserable with awful players until you pay up.
Hey, I am a huge fan of you and your channel. I am a 15 year old who started on Madden 21 just as a kid enjoying Madden as anyone would want. But I think I found you in Madden 23 and watched here and there but not to much until now. I love how honest you are in your reviews and will keep rewatching your vids multiple times. I hope for them to let us have NFL 2K again and maybe SDS could make a game with me being a huge MLB The Show fan. The opportunities are endless but with how Madden is they will never do it. I was thinking and they are kind of like the iPhone they say it will be great every year but it is the same thing every single year. I have a friend who is a total Ultimate Team supporter and I will keep sending him videos of you and show how messed up Madden is but he just thinks it over and moves on not realizing what he could be missing out on and makes fun of you for not fully going over what is wrong with Mut or whatever. Just wanted to let you know I need this change, you need the change, all Madden players need to be what CFB was or even better knowing the hardware that it runs on. Thank You on speaking the Truth and showing ea what is wrong with the game they do not give a f about.
The PS2 was not much more powerful than the Dreamcast. One of the reasons the PS2 was so affordable was because it wasn't as powerful as the other consoles.
Perhaps the missing feature I miss most is not having legends or historic teams without Ultimate Team (I hate micro transactions). However, I greatly miss the feature of being able to play just a season (doing a fantasy draft) instead of a multi year franchise. Sure, I could just stop after one season but, I’m missing a lot. The way fantasy drafts are done are largely in favor or younger players based in XP development. If we had a season mode that factored XP based on that one year timeframe, then we would have something really cool.
OK Im guessing Softdrink is talking about 06 on the Ps2. Which version of 06 is better.... The Xbox or Ps2. Not just talking about graphics but entire game and gameplay.
I _loved_ NFL QB Club for the Sega Genesis. I used to switch between playing that & Troy Aikman Football (thru gritted teeth, as I am a San Francisco Niners fan 😆) all day, as a kid. The QB Challenge & "Situations" (aka iconic, historic NFL moments) modes were awesome and FAR ahead of their time. Acclaim gets dogged for having made piss poor quality sports games for systems NES thru N64, but theygot it right with the OG QB Club. Now, a game in the series I really did not care for was NFL QB Club - I wanna sayyyy... - '99 for the N64. Maybe it was because I was still relatively young at the time I played it (nearing the end of middle school age, give or take), but it had a weird game mechanic that made it almost unplayable. Something I've only ever seen something even remotely similar to.... at the same level, at least...in either NCAA Football 2004 or 2005 (not to mention it wasnt the same & the reasoning behind it made sense - home team crowd noise affecting the visiting team). The issue? WRs in QB Club couldn't catch the ball. In every football game I've ever played, the WR auto catches the ball, unless you ask them to make a specific aggressive, possession, diving catch, etc. In QB Club '99, tho, they wouldn't catch the ball at all. CPU WRs couldn't catch a pass. You had to switch to the WR after throwing to them, then perfectly time pressing the catch button because you couldn't just switch & press catch, oh no, no, no! You had to time it right, or they were dropping that shit, regardless of if they were wide open or not. Could I handle that in 2024? Sure. Was it too difficult for me at 11 or 12 or however old I was, having never really user caught passes before? Also, yes.
I got this game with the purchase of Xbox and traded it in 4 days later for Halo. There was no franchise mode and it pissed me off so bad. I like the gameplay but it was so bar bones.
This video was a nice little walk down memory lane. I vividly remember watching the intro to QB Club 97 for Playstation with my friend when I was 12 and saying "I wish the whole game was like this!" Little did we know that NFL 2K in a few years would look even better! Unrelated, but in the ad I saw my dudes in Origami Angel. They are my current favorite band and just all around nice guys. Their new album is great (I'd recommend the track "Viral")
Not gonna lie, I still play 2k17 man… I played my league up to 2075 to the point that the created players started making Jrs and drafting them if you auto generate prospects… it’s the best offline gameplay ever to me… the AI makes you think, the coaching depth is very particular, training is deep the game is definitely great still
NHL 14 was unbelievable. I started playing NHL games in 98. Then around 2004 I was playing both 2Ks and EAs NHL games. My favourite after NHL 14 is NHL 07 only because, at the time and still a teenager, bad things were happening in my life and that game and the soundtrack saved me mentally.
I do want to say something interesting: the NFL recently gave a Roblox football game the official NFL license. Sure it’s just a Roblox game, but the fact they got the NFL license surely means something when it comes to Madden and console gaming.
It’s still remarkable how bad games have gotten. I remember being 10-13 thinking about how great games would be when I was older. I’m now 40 and very disappointed.
