This song was interpreted as a song about a child who lost himself, experienced his future, learned what was most important to him, and returned to his heart for the first time once again. When he finally sees his mother's face, he feels relieved and understands how important she is. it's my opinion✨
For me it displays the contradiction society puts on young people. this is the song that introduced me to OOR. My oldes son 28 showed me this song and i fell in love with them. We have seen them live since and i tell you there is no band like them out there. Thank you for your reaction ❤❤❤ You should do a doble with the live and the MV of waisted nights or Renegades. ❤
there are many bands.. but if you're looking for the same vibes like oor live performance, i'm not sure. Their music arrangements, their messages, Taka's unique vocal & strong stage presence, heavy crowd interactions, and their high quality of live videos productions, are all top tier🤘
there were saying in asia that "you'll grown got bully enough to become a bully" thats why their parents temper their mentality first over educations to resist those bullies. the dance part were also asian old saying, "if you ever lost your way, look back to your roots, your ancestors". i dont really know how to put it in english, but asians always have pride and proud of their ancestors and whenever they confuse of their life. they always look up to their ancestors way of living.
This is one of my favorite ONE OK ROCK music videos because it holds a lot of subtle meanings, and each RU-vidr interprets it in a different way. I didn't grasp the dance part until I watched a reaction video, where the RU-vidr mentioned liking the dance because you can see he fell many times and got back up. His interpretation was "no matter how many times you fall, don't change who you are".
Yes, I have a similar interpretation of the dance scene, particularly about him falling while dancing. I also heard another reaction tuber saying that dance is a perfect reflection of his inner struggle because when you dance in a group you need to synchronize (fitting in) with others while simultaneously you need to be able to perform your own part (standing out). Interesting is the very last part of the dance scene where he is gulped in the waves of other dancers, and when he comes out of it, he is that boy again, with his mother coming out of the restaurant smiling at him. I see it as him being drowned in other people trying too hard to fit in. The dance also takes place in the parking lot in front of the restaurant (his home, so to speak). In other words, he was trying so hard to fit in, but he has been dancing around all along on his own root identity.
Next you should watch Wasted Nights (Eye of the Storm 2020) for more angelic soft vulnerable Taka's voice, check these out: - Wherever You Are (Live Ambitions 2017) - Good Goodbye (Saitama 2015) - A Thousand Miles - Vanessa Carlton (Yokohama Stadium 2014) for heavier stuff with a lot of screams and explosive energy, i recommend these: - Make It Out Alive (1Chance Festival 2023) - Deeper Deeper (Yokohama Stadium 2014) - One by One (Saitama 2015)
I love ONE OK ROCK❤ I recommend it ・Fight the night ・Taking off -Tomoya's Drum Ver. ・Renegades -2023 Luxury Disease Japan Tour Other than that, I recommend a song called "Hakujitsu" by a Japanese band called “King Gnu”
Another really nice song of theirs and where the music video is probably better to understand the message is “Wasted Nights”. Really inspirational song and video.
For the pronunciation, I would recommend going with either "One Okay Rock" or "One o'clock." The technical official pronunciation is the latter, but in Japanese the l and r sound are sort of one mixed sound so to an unfamiliar ear, it ends up kind of confusing. I definitely wouldn't say it with an English "R" sound though since it was intended from the beginning to be "one o'clock" (the time the band practiced). "One Okay Rock" IS, however, also an acceptable pronunciation, no matter what some fans say. When Taka introduces them in English he says "we are One Okay Rock." The band knows how it'll be read in English, maybe at first it was weird to them idk but they themselves use that one when in the west!
Please react ONE OK ROCK song Wasted Nights live version, it will bring your feelings into the song. This is really good song and great performance similar like Take what you want
if you are looking for more emotional one ok rock songs you can check out Good goodbye live 35xxxv concert and one way ticket orchestra version live and piano version live
Enjoying your OOR journey very much! 👏👏 I think the song discusses the dilemma we all face between wanting to be ourselves yet still wanting to fit in, and the bridge is a decision to not change.
I don't know if you are still looking for band suggestions, but I would recommend Skillet, they are an awesome rock band. Hero is a good song, one of their older ones. Their songs Monster, and Stars are both awesome. My favorite song of theirs is Feel Invincible. Another fun band is For King and Country. Their song "What are we waiting for?" is the one I would recommend.
Grown-ups tend to say contradictory things like "stand out" and "fit in" and keep on preaching things like "boys should be like this" "girls should be like that", but never mind that because all you can do after all is being yourself. It's my interpretation.
*Yes it is actually pronounced One O'Krock like One O'Clock,* (They accept One OK Rock because they know western people pounced it that way....and it sounds cool too)
My opinion This video tells 2 different times 1. where he becomes someone else who he wants, and he can feel his own pleasure, but behind that you get nothing but destruction waiting for you. 2. or stay yourself. at the end of the video he turns back into a child, and his mother smiles("DID YOU SEE AFTER BECOMING NOT YOURSELF?") (in the future sense). The point is to remain who you are
My 50yo self still feels this song. The push by society to fit a mold never ends. However, I’ve always been the type to stick to my own standards. One of my mottos is: You’ll either love me or you won’t. And that’s okay.
I always enjoy watching your videos from Japan^^ The orchestral version of 「Stand Out Fit In」 is cool, so please take a look Sorry for my poor English. I'm looking forward to the future.
This is describing the situation after Asians immigrated to Europe and the United States. Earlier I described how difficult it is for immigrant families to live in a foreign country. Children have been excluded or discriminated against due to cultural and appearance differences since childhood. In this environment, it is easy to abandon the foreign culture of the original family and integrate into the local environment. From mapo tofu to eating sandwiches, from being discriminated against to teasing nerds It can be regarded as a relatively negative example. The previous generation still has an Asian culture, but when the next generation grows up, they look Asian but have already assimilated into the local environment. This is not necessarily a bad thing
Concert version is the best! One Ok Rock - Stand Out Fit In Live [Luxury Disease Japan Tour 2023] ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sBAi8ifjNx8.htmlsi=DfutdxsKeoOt9LMD
Yes, that’s how you say it. She’s right haha. 😂 But in an interview, they said that they know that in the US, people say “One Okay Rock.” I guess it’s fine with them. 🤣
Did you notice the father wasn't there at the end to lock up with his mom? I feel he was the one in the car accident. Super sad! Thank you for reacting!
Great reaction 👍 Love OOR. I would like to recommend "I Love ..." (MV) by "Official HIGE Dandism" (aka HigeDan) for UR family👶 They are also Japanese Band.
Killermcknigth... 🙏Please reaction AbimFinger.... Cover song Nothing gonna change my love for you ( George Benson) or you are not alone ( Michael Jackson).... I think you both will❤...
You should try Korean Rock Band called Xdinary Heroes.. Studio version or Live version is good.. One OK Rock is my fav rock band of all time Songs: Ballad -Good enough -Pluto Rock -Break the Brake or you check their new album livelock
It literally is one ok rock like “one ock rock” though. When they named the band it was one o’clock, which with a Japanese accent sounds like one o’crock…became One OK Rock!
@@Killermcknight understandable. As I understand it, most fans outside of Japan read it automatically as “okay” so they just kinda roll with it as an alternate version. Here in Japan/on their official stuff it’s always “ock”, and it’s often shortened by Japanese fans to one-ock (Japan likes to shorten words as much as possible aha)
