Thank you for the free pattern PDF’s. This terrible inflation is killing us especially being on a fixed income. Appreciate your generosity to your RU-vid fans!
Donna all your quilts are beautiful and I love it when you do it in a light background and a coloured background. It gives me plenty of food for thought. Thanks to everyone in your team for all your hard work.
Donna, we thank you so much for always amazing us with your patterns and color choices. No matter how tired you may get, always know that we appreciate everything you do.
So pretty both colour ways. I remember granny in 1960s having a bead curtain. Going to try this pattern. Just done ur 9 patch disappearing 4 starters as a newbie quilter. ❤ the turning of the squares and stuff
Love the colored background. Thank you for sharing your pattern. You are the only one who teaches about the grain of the fabric, so the quilt lays flat. Thank you!
Beautiful pattern and beautifully presented. As a very experienced Quilter, I enjoy your videos and recommend them to all my quilting friends especially the newer Quilters. Your choices of color, design and even quilting pattern are very pleasingly combined. Now if I just lived a bit closer--
You are my sunshine, one of my sunshine’s. You make me happy when new video comes. You’ll never know dear ( Donna ) how much we love ( and appreciate you ) can’t wait for the next video to come 🤣 I love the linen beads quilt the best because the beads 💎 really pop!!!! You are an excellent teacher!!!
@@KateGas you need to add the triangles as part of each row. So when you lay out your pieces on a design wall or a spare bed, you'll be able to see what side of the triangle that needs to be sewn to the row. Once each row is sewn, then you sew rows together. It's best to sew one half the quilt top then the next. The Last part is to sew the two halves together
Hi Donna 💖 This morning, I watched this video for the second time. I am not sure when I first watched your Bead Quilt video, but I know it has been months. I absolutely love the pattern. Right from the first, I wanted to make your Bead Quilt. My take aways, after tuning in for a second time are these. First, I am now even more determined to make your beautifully stylized quilt. Second, I realized I should be listening with pen and notebook in hand: you definitely give important make or break--but easily doable--advice for ensuring long lasting, professional looking results. Third, I remembered what I had imagined when you first introduced me to your new quilt pattern, Christmas Decorating. Do you think your beautiful beads pattern would look elegant if the beads and backing were made using luxurious Christmas fabric? Fourth, I had forgotten that you had made two completely unique versions of this pattern using very different fabric collections (I cannot pick which quilt I like best. I love them both! Which quilt I will make will depend on who it is for and what the occasion happens to be.) Fifth, I absolutely never tire of watching your quilting tutorials. Every single time I have watched one of your videos, I am amazed by how many ways you over deliver and expand the possibilities for your subscribers benefit. 📣Thank you most sincerely! 🏆✨
You are a natural for video instruction. All your videos are professional with great camera and audio and easy to watch. I like your pattern and thank you for having it free to download.
Reminds me of the beaded curtains I used to see in doorways when I was young. Dating me a bit I know but I love this quilt and as usual you have done a great job of teaching!!!
Donna, this video tutorial is just one reason I subscribe to your RU-vid channel and your email list. You are so creative and you actually EXPLAIN WHY we should be doing something a particular way. Thank you!
I really like your Beads pattern. My grand daughter is fascinated with beads and necklaces and pendants. I like how you showed how simple it is to cut the strips and turn those simple strips into a beautiful quilt. You make it look so easy.
Hi Donna, I am relatively new to quilting on my own. I sat with my grandmother as she quilted the old fashioned way, and although I love quilts and admired from afar, I never thought I would be able to actually quilt myself. My first quilt was 4 years ago with my seniors group at our local craft meeting and we made Trip Around The World lap quilts to auction off among the entire senior members. We didn't quilt them because we didn't have the space so we just tied them. I was hooked! We did a multi-colored one and then I decided to do a Christmas one. After finishing that one I took it to show my Mom & she loved it so much she wanted me to make her a fall one, her favorite colors. Well, up to this point, I just figured that was going to be my go to, and I was fine with that. Until I found You Tube tutorials, and now I have watched different patterns that look incredibly difficult being made before my very eyes & I must tell you, Miss Donna (which was my Mom's name-unfortunately I lost her about 6 months after I gave her her quilt) that I love beading, so when I saw this picture I had to watch, and you've convinced me that I can not only bead jewelry, but now I can add beaded quilts to my bag of tricks! Thank you Miss Donna, I will be watching all of your video's for more quilts that I can possibly quilt in my lifetime, but oh the dreams!
Thank you for another wonderful tutorial! I love this pattern, and I really appreciate that it is free. You are a wonderful teacher. I love both quilts, but the one with the cream background is my favorite.
I could feel your excitement as you made the first quilt the jewels quilt the second one is beautiful also but watching your excitement about the first one would be my favorite
I love both of your strings of beads quilts Donna. One is modern the other with a beautifully vintage feel. All your designs are magic 🌟 and give wonderful mood changes and ambiance....keep going!! Your work ethic & passion for quilting is phenomenal 💫🥁
wow, beautiful quilt, Donna! Thanks so much for walking us through your thought process and all the secret tips you've learned. I think both are beautiful. The colorful one is so vibrant, but I also really love the subtlety and softer colors in the second one. Thank you!!
Donna, I just watched the beads quilt.. I love both of them but prefer the second one. It is gorgeous. You work so efficiently. I admire that. I should remember that practice makes perfect. Something you do that helps me a lot is explain the “why” you did something the way you did it. That makes sense to me better than just “do it this way”. You are a wonderful teacher. Keep it up! I’ll keep watching and trying.
I love this quilt! You are such an inspiration to me and an amazing teacher, Donna - you explain slowly and clearly, give the WHY to your technique and just have the most efficient methods. I look forward to each new video - from ‘shopping’ for fabrics to the finished quilt. Thank you!
I like them both equally well for different reasons. I wasn't sure if I liked this pattern, but you make the quilts look so beautiful, how can I now like them. The colors are perfect for my home. Bless you and thank you for all you and Matt do for us.
I've never quilted before but I'm in the process of putting equipment together so I can start. Thank you for the free patterns & tutorials. My confidence level is climbing. You really make this look achievable, even for a newbie like me.
Both quilts look wonderful. The print Moda one gives the eye more to explore and is pretty and traditional and surely would hide dirt better. The jewel one is clean and crisp and the colors of the fabrics take center stage. Great accent piece.
I love both of the fabric choices. The first one reminds me of the 70’s with the hanging beads for doors/windows and the second fabric choice bring thought of pastel beaded jewelry.
I’ve just watched this silently, no headphones and DH is asleep! I wanted to say thanks for your gestures! I’ve watched a lot of your videos so I can guess what you’re teaching us, but your gestures just said it all, bias, pressing direction, borders, the lot, and a very pretty quilt. Thank you.
I LOVE this new pattern! I loved the look of the first one, with the linen-look cottons and that curvy quilting over the geometric lines... but then the Moda floral is soo beautiful.. looks completely different! (I will have to choose BOTH)
Your videos are so helpful I would never have thought I could make this quilt but I just did , great to be able to come back and watch the video whenever I needed help with placing the blocks . Thank you so much 😊
I like the second quilt best. It has a softer look. The back ground makes it seem old fashion. Both quilts are so lovely. It was fun to see how you made it.
I love both quilts and they're a perfect illustration of how changing the fabric alters the entire look of a piece. If forced to choose, I'd go for the moda quill - I love the background colour!
Light background beads pattern I like best. The solid colors are amazing. It's radiant, colorful, uplifting, fun, and, yes, it is hard work. Great job, Donna!🌻Thank you for the tutorial.
I am happy that you made a 2nd Quilt. thats what i was hoping for. I like both of them and cant decide now I am showing preferance towards the prints... Thank you so much for sharing this pattern.
Love it!! Thank you for the free pattern!! I've been wanting to make something for our coach. This makes me think of State Swimming and Diving Conference with all the lanes. I think I'll try it with a blue back ground for water and then the lane ropes. Donna, you are amazing. You inspire me with every video!!
Tonya Blunck Now that you mention it, it does look like swimming lanes! This would be an awesome quilt for your coach and easy to get together too. I sure would love to see how that turns out. Have fun making it.
I like the sharp crispiness of the first bold colors. I might try doing it with an Irish theme for a wall hanging. Thank you for sharing so many WONDERFUL patterns. I love your efficiency and clarity. Dahill Seeker on the other side of the country...now SC
Hi, Donna! I love the simplicity of this pattern! Wow, I can do a lot with thus pattern 😊 while both quilts are beautiful, I am really taken with the darker background quilt. I've got to make one. Many thanks for the free pattern. Now, I'll be digging through my stash.
Both are nice but I think I like the second one best. I like the quilting pattern. I so enjoy watching and listening to you teach quilting. You inspire me to go into my studio every single day. 🙏🏻❤️
Love the green quilt the best,a much softer antique look.Love your videos ,can't believe people did thumbs down. They should just enjoy and appreciate what you do for all of us!
loved, loved. Am leaving for a quilting retreat tomorrow here in Oklahoma and I am making this. Have some fat eights just waiting for the right pattern and I have found it. Definitely love the light background design - im a winter color person!! Your instructions are so on the spot and short but sweet. So glad I found your utube channel.
Both of the beads quilts are beautiful. They have a very different feel to them. The floral one makes me feel like I'm at my Grandma's house. The one with the cream background feels more modern. I like them both, but if you ever do a giveaway of the one with the cream background, I'll definitely sign up for that! Thank you for the endless entertainment, inspiration, and instruction. Your videos are always so clear and easy to understand! I especially appreciate the explanation of how to cut the triangles that go on the edges, why you want the grain going along the edge of the quilt instead of alongside the blocks themselves, and how to cut them so that they do. Over the past few months that I have been watching your channel, I have been hoping to see you give more detail on that. My aunts and several members of my family are avid quilters and have been for years, and they all recently conspired to infect me with the "bedbug". But they all live so far away, and I can't hang out with them and learn from them nearly as much as I would like. So I appreciate your videos. They are the next best thing! I live in Portland, so next time I get to drive through Grants Pass, I am excited to come see your shop.
Thank you for the tips. I’ve been quilting a long time and am self taught, but you can always learn new things. Both quilts are beautiful but I like the quill quilt. It has a softer look.
I really am intrigued by that fabric texture. I also appreciate that you use your exercise weight when cutting fabric. I do the same. Really like this new pattern! You are so clever girl!💕
Love this pattern, thank you so much for sharing. Now I want to do a Christmas theme with this pattern. Love both of yours, but if I have to chose It’s going to be the formal print or maybe one of each.
I am new to this channel, saw the first video yesterday and fell in love. Ms Jordan is an excellent teacher. She makes it look easy. Made a log cabin quilt top from a class in a day 30 years ago and had forgotten everything. My grandma was an avid quilter, she tried to get me interested, but i never wanted to. Now i love watching this fabulous teacher breaking down the mysteries!!!
