I've typically found that its easier to pop a nightvision potion and just sprint through the ancient cities. Once you hear the noise indicating that the warden is about to spawn, just sprint in the other direction. By the time it fully spawns, you're too far away for it to notice. Only had this backfire a couple of times, but its usually when I was being greedy and trying to loot even though it was already spawning.
exactly, also don't carry armor, and if you encounter an ancient city while exploring, just setup a temporary base with chest and bed, setup your spawn and store your armor here put a bunch of chests next to the city in a safe aera it will be your loot stach, also put a bed here to set your spawn get popo of night vision as you said, very useful for cities, maybe a few ender pearls and maybe a totem if you have a bunch of them to tank a few warden sonic booms and then, once you got those preps, go run naked with an axe break the chest, get the loot, run ... repeat you will easely loot everything, maybe die a few time and no risk involved if you are kinda impatient, the elytra technique work well too, with elytra and an eff5 diamond axe, you are too fast for the warden, and a bunch of totems to tank sonic booms again, it's very fast, efficient and easy (and you get ton of good loot from the city like disks and gapples) altrough it involve higher risk because you might loose your elytra but yes, the "running madman with an axe" is clearly a low risk high reward method
@@wikipiiimp9420thank you for the advice. As someone who ran into an ancient city with no clue what the hell it was for the first time, this should work
I used to tower up to the ceiling, camp there and spam snowballs at random places. From there I can map out the approximate shrieker locations and avoid them. Then I wait for the wardens to despawn. I did this in early game so I could score high profits.
Do not know why, but when I watched the clip, I didn't breathe at all, usually if I try to test myself, I fail, but something fired off in my brain when he entered the ancient ruins.
I love hearing this play in my head when people try to Sneak instead of Sprint: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TR3v_eT8aCA.htmlsi=KSLdRU51v3xeeCE_
I had found like 3 with my husband while exploring and the thing we do is like putting a lot of chests around the city, set our spawn points on a really high place and go taking everything without thinking to much about it, if we awake the warden we just make it go far with us before dying and respawning
As someone who regularly manages to not only find Ancient Cities so she can decontaminate all the Sculk, but also enjoy her earnings from the City's treasures without getting caught by the Warden? Wool issue. Jokes aside, though, the Ancient Cities have plenty of Wool to provide you with that you can use to nullify Shriekers, Senors, and any other critical compenents that'd potentially set off a Shrieker. What ultimately matters is that you want to use a Silk Touch tool to turn otherwise terrifying forces of nature into "wireless redstone" appliances. To do this: Isolate, Decontaminate, and the rest is history
It's easy just keep sneaking away.. If you're close enough it can sniff you, but if you start moving as soon as you hear it spawning you get out of the sniffing range and you move faster than it outside of its detection range.
Few ppl carry a pumpkin and iron blocks Warden is super easy to avoid, if you know what youre doing you can loot the city in like day 3 and only bcs you still have to mine like 100 blocks down
My guideline for Ancient City: 1. Have enough wool and a decent hoe. 2. Set up a mini base nearby. Have it far enough from the city so that the Warden cannot detect you from there. 3. Always have an easy escape route ready that leads to the base. 4. Don't bother sneaking around the Warden. He literally just smells were you are anyway. Just sprint away through the escape route to your base and wait for two minutes for the Warden to despawn. It takes some time but I never died this way.
This happened with me yesterday, I was carrying 3 shulker boxes of my building materials and all my enchanted gear to build a new base 😭😭 2 months worth of progress gone in 2 minutes
This is exactly how I lost my full set of diamond armor with netherite trims and all my diamond and netherite tools good thing I left the elytra at my house
Let this be a lesson to everyone that before exploring Deep Dark Biomes or ancient Cities you must always & I mean always bring Plenty of Wool & Carpets.
I heavn't played in forever, but would it not have been possible to use the bow shoot the ground far away (to lure him away) and then just built straight up?
