mp3: stonesthrow.com/store/ep/ynq/e... Sunrays by Madlib's Yesterdays New Quintet (YNQ) first EP "Elle's Theme" on Stones Throw www: www.stonesthrow.com/ynq
I kinda hate it when people compare goat's between each other. Dilla, Madlib, 9th, Alc., knxwledge, Pete rock, Rza, Apollo Brown, k west, hi-tek .... list goes on, but all these dudes uniquely crafted their own sound and mastered it. Just listen to some good music and chill.
If you can hate something so simple you missed the point lil homie, but I get what you mean. It's okay to just let people vibe. Wishing you wealth and knowledge on a comment from one year ago, no smoke but what we roll, stay whole in your soul.
Yo, i gotta say that madlib, J Dilla, and 9th wonder have all changed my life in a way that no other force could ever do. Ut's the musical freedom and exhiliration, a high that i will never feel whether it be my first kiss or my first time making love.Their music sets me free, it lifts my soul it a place like no other. And to all my brothers out there,no matter the bullshit, just work hard and keep listening to this music, you will find the right road.Find your way into the sunrays. Peace
True. If you think that's all great, you should call on the name of jesus. There is even better music in heaven. Madlibs music is getting there, it's less emotional and earthly and more blissful and transcendent. I once heard angels singing shortly after I found faith and it was like nothing I've ever heard. There was new laws to it that you can't comprehend or explain and the peace and purity of it was amazing. Just wanted to share that
Stones Throw is the real MVP. Full of oldschool producers and emcees. love this beat, loved this beat ever since I heard it atleast 5 years ago . Always come back. Madlib is king.
a 6am sunrise, I just walked outside to a very blur morning not even knowing what I'm doing. I can't even tell if I'm dreaming. 5 hours later, it's 11am and now outside can be seen more clearly. I was lead out here by who? I stand in midst of a field filled with flowers that shine from the sun! "Why am I here? Is this paradise?" This is what any kind of hip hop beat can do if the artist can really have a sound in his mind that can reveal a dream, an event, or just life in general! Real Music
This rem, inds me of the memonries i have had since child hood that made me feel older. I used to remember old important scenes in an old film style lmao
this song is the best of the best, seriously its amazing it becomes addictive so i have to force myslef to listen to something else for a bit and then come back again later
I have a ton of playlists on Spotify, and whenever I feel like finding new tracks I start the radio. Almost all of them just become Madlib and DOOM radios. All the time. I love it, though.
As I sit back and reminisce on the good times The times when I used the pen and pad to deliver rhymes At the sametime it was a struggle Wondering if my life would POP like a bubble And on the double I put my mind straight to work Even if it hurt, to think and my mind goes berserk I had to make it through and overcome myself Or I would be overcome on nearby death I'm not a preacher or teacher I am the main feature that you see of a pure heart and soul With a gift to bless the young and the old
Agreed. lib's skill in sample selection is simply elaborate. He's got crazy style that has little to do with production and more to do with his creative execution.
pardon my french but im fried, got my pride at my side, taking long strides across the poverty line, grab a one side die and roll snake eyes every time, got you oozing red slime, every time that i rhyme so divine that my mind starts to fly..........
Forgive my digression but I feel like expressin every last thought of my twisted mental tension. And I ain't disrespectin, I just think that beats like these could use some discretion. And it wasn't my intention, to give a misunderstanding of my affection. I Looked in my reflection, and saw that up was the same as down in every single direction. East and West seemed to leave no impression, while the north and the south seem to lead me to depression. Black and white seem to be the force of a gunfight while all of us stay living in the same plight. Discretion is the darkness while honesty the light. I Said to much so I'll disappear into the night.
Sounds like he sampled the same song Uyama Hiroto did.... or was it DJ Okawari (Damn, all these talents and their easily-blending together styles XD!!!)
Some recommendations: -Pete rock (petestrumentals , SS, SS2, with CL etc....) -Thes one (6th cup, noonen, with PUTS) - Sound providers - MF DOOM (special herbs...) - Damu the fudgemunk
FS Green Fa†e Exile (whenever he's producing for Blu, even Blu himself when he's on production) Hi-Tek Koop XXYYXX Flying Lotus' old bumps Teebs L'Orange Dela (Atmosphere Airlines) Ta-Ku Knxwledge Tokimonsta (her old sht) The Internet Chuck Inglish (his solo beat tapes) BadBadNotGood Shlohmo Toro Y Moi Shigeto Not strictly pure traditional hiphop lol but I'm just suggestin chill artists that are part of the hiphop scene & just deviate a little. Also if u familiar with Nujabes you should check the 4 instrumental albums he along with other underground Japanese producers put together for the anime Samurai Champloo's soundtrack. IMO 2 of the dude's finest ('Aruarian Dance' and 'Counting Stars') can be found there
Little sample of something I wrote to this. I, get complex like Dexter/ Off of Cartoon Network, don't go snooping in my lab you'll get hurt/ Spotted you like leopard, miles away from the sector, way before you became a collector/ Of broken hearts and efforts/Nouff(enough) to make a niggas head burst/ Gotta get away before it gets worse.
he does stuff with instruments. for sure. he created a band where he is every member with different aliases. Otis Jackson. Madlib. Quas. YNQ. Jackson Conti. The aliases and projects are endless....start searching
