Bravo to Madonna for supporting the gay community and Aids victims at that time when it was still very taboo and a lot of homophobic people around back in the 90,s .I myself was a big fan of hers since the the early 80's way before she ever became a so called "gay icon " .

Um Generation x were very much aware. They came off age in the 80s. You're probably talking about Millennials(1981-1996), who were babies and toddlers in the 80s

I was born in 1988. And I can tell you that I have been bullied since first grade to senior year H.S. for being really shy. I was asked if I was born a female. Then the bullying escalated when I was in the third grade. Kids would ask me if I was gay. I never knew what the word gay meant because in my house, we never talked about Sexuality. Sexuality was known as a sin in my house. I didn't know what gay meant until I was in the 7th grade. Selena Quintanilla and Madonna have always been my inspiration of just being happy as me. Even though Madonna is world famous, she was hated by a lot of people because she provoked people thinking out the box. I remember feeling relieved when I first saw her movie "Madonna Truth Or Dare" back in 2005. I was a sophomore in high school and I started listening to Madonna and an obsession grew.

@mdnna2012 I don't feel that it is related to her age, I have the feeling that since she divorced with Guy she seems profoundly affected and I never more found her really happy and joyful as she used to be. Sometimes she smiles but there is no real happiness behind it. That is of course my humble opinion.

Youth is wasted on the young. She didn't waste hers thats for sure! Dance is part of being human if we look back into our history and cultures. All ages dance their dance. Its human. Its real. Its cathartic, healing, everything, express joy, pain and grief. Dance, stories shared throug dance when language barriers. The haka from NZ the warrior welcome dance. Its primal.
