I was at this Coachella in 2006 and she was incredible. The fact that she wasn't on the main stage was mind-boggling to me. She lit the place on fire. It was a non-stop dance party and a great preview of the incredible Confessions tour to come.
I was there as well. The first time I got to see her. I remember inching my way into the middle, so close to everyone around me that I couldn't move. It was so hot and she was so late I thought I was gonna die...when she finally came on...it was magic.
It was unheard of to have a mainstream act play Coachella back then and and there was even some talk that she must’ve been desperate. Now Coachella is an event and mainstream acts line up to play there - Thanks to Madonna.
Youre 100% correct...she made Coachella mainstream......"desperate?" It amazes me that here this woman has equity in a catalogue of music thats brought in billions of dollars...meaning she could literally sit on her ass and play with her nipples and still rake in millions per year and people will still say shes desperate to stay relevant...when you are as rich as she is, u are relevant...simple as that
A big controversial appearance. Some people wasn’t agree that Madonna performance at Cochella. But she took the challenge and show the world that she can lite on fire that tent! Amazing performance.
The Hollywood clubs at the time of the release of this album had developed a sense of style and class like it never had before and when Get Together was played EVERYBODY would hit the Dance Floor.. My favorite from this iconic album and era.
John Constantine Marinakis Kipps Her performance of LIWB during the Confessions tour was even better than this one. Hard to believe, I know, but I saw it live in the summer of 2006 & was completely blown away.
Madonna was the first major act to perform at Coachella and she set the crowd on fire they were so loud like no other. Ccompare it to Beyonce’s crowd they were bored to death ... and some people have the nerve to say Beyonce is a better performer
lol imagine bringing down a woman just to praise another... Y'all make me laugh... Beyoncé and Madonna both made legendary performances at Coachella, no need to compare two of the best performers alive✌️
Am I the only Madonna fan who prefers when Madonna performs in FLAT SHOES? Her give it to me performance from hard candy tour is her best because she’s wearing flat shoes
Wow Coachella you get a hugh hugh mega star by name of "Madonna" and she asks you to sing: "dance and sing get up, and do your thing" and you blow it. You blew history too! WTH Coachella!
I was hereeeee and waited forever so i could get a great spot. i had been so utterly enthralled with her for 12 years before i saw this in 2006. it felt like a dream. 🥹🩵🥲
I really don´t get her point. Why does she prefer to "hide" and not sing live in the DVDs - She does sing so wonderfully!!! Her performance is so powerful!
There's a lot in the Confessions tour where she did her best to sing live but that was such an athletic show it would almost be impossible to stay on key for the entire performance with all that jumping around and dancing. I'm not surprised they changed the vocals in the dvd. It was an amazing concert though.
OMG this takes me back! I haven't seen the full show since I was there and it's so awesome, thank you so much! It definitely was one of the hottest days there all day and I even have an incredible inside story from that show. So iconic and such a moment! First time I got to hear her sing everybody which is the name of my Madonna fan club :-)
"Confessions" is my favorite Madonna album, she looks good, and she is a great performer, but, except for "Everybody," she in not in what I would call the best voice here. I love at 6:33 when she quickly interrupts herself to say, "Turn the music up." Hmm. Would still have killed to be there. Excited about this tour.
Best moment of my life is when Madonna read my mind. I was literally thinking I wish she would take some clothes off and 2 seconds later 27:28 she said should I take my pants off? EPIC
My what a different this was here this was 2006 and people were respecting her and showing her love and then 9 years later she's at Coachella again with Drake and people made it out to be a joke and that was in 2015 a lot can change in a short amount of time period
“Just watch me BURN.” Amen to that, baby. Confessions was arguably her best tour which I saw a couple months after this... love seeing this “preview”...have rarely seen her seem to genuinely enjoy performing this much since the early, early days...been a fan for 37 years...and sadly haven’t seen it again since. This is also the last tour before she needlessly started messing with her face...she looks like a totally different person now, and not in a good way.
@DA BIG D Well, maybe not retired (but releasing albums a lot better than the last few)...I do totally agree that this album and tour were the zenith of her career...she’s still very much at the top of her game here.
The best and no need for a dozen dancers shaking their ass as Beyonce's Coachella 2018 which by the way took a lot of notes from Madonna's SB Halftime 2012
Gina Sousa Branco why do you need to compare? 2 different types of performances, 2 different years and eras, both are superbe and this of Madonna was incredible
22:01 "Do not throw water on my stage motherfuckers!" Why can’t the dull girls of today have some of this attitude, instead of the desperation to be relatable and be liked by everyone?
Yea she's lost it now. I just don't recognize her anymore. She's obviously felt the need to grow and transform from her early pop days, i get it. Unfortunately though she really is just a mediocre talent and it really shows as she's tried to become more of an 'artist'. She can't pull it off and it's kind of embarrasing to watch her desperation all out on show. She just can't bare not being the best and ironically she now tries so hard that she's become the worse. Complete embarassment, I have to say though i with her constant embarrasing antics i find her more entertaining now than ever hahahaha
@@jovialfaltisco548 The whole Ray of Light with a guitar and the 'i wanna see you jump mutha fuckas' whilst the dancers do all the work was the way she performed ROL for years to come. it's fucking dull. And anyone that has to 'order' their audience to get into a performance if they're not doing it unprompted is just embarrasing.
