She is a fabulous dancer, underrated vocalist and her songwriting talents are usually underplayed. Madonna has star quality oozing from every pore in her body. Her dance teachers -including the renowned Pearl Lang - were all mesmerised by her dancing. Her music collaborators confirm her talents as a songwriter and producer. This is reality.
you know the thing i hate the most is that because of her age, madonna's been cast off from the industry and the world. people dont take her seriously anymore. they just say she's an old slut holding on to her youth and thats she's a has been. its not fair and i think she deserves respect as the queen of the music industry

It's not an age prejudice. When M started her solo career she was criticized for portray a sexual woman that could be a bad influence for the teenagers girls. Things get worse with all the themes she brought to the mainstream: Catholicism, sexuality (S&M, homosexuality, lesbianism, fetichism, politics), M's public support to the LGBT community... the media + the masses weren't prepared for such display.

Gosh Madonna is my Fav singer/performer ever I loved her since I was 10 yo ! She's the best in my eyes and always will be , but I love lady gaga too not as much as Madonna but I like her songs and etc... BUT WAHT PISSES ME OFF IS THAT ON EVERY MADONNA VIDEO I CLICK ON AND WATCH EACH OF THEM HAS PPL TALKING ABOUT GAGA AND COMPARING HER TO MADONNA, LIKE LITTERALLY EVERY VIDEO I'VE SEEN ON MADONNA HAS ATEAST PNE GAGA COMMENT WTF ???
@Shakeshack78 and hopefully she'll grow with her fans as Madonna did. I think she can do it, she's already toning it down sometimes so we'll see. Very excited to see what the next album will be like.

I don't consider myself a "lil monster" but I am a fan of GaGa, she's my age, and I have respect for what Madonna has done, I just don't see why there is this huge rif between the fans. Two different generations, two different artists. GaGa has done some Madonna-eske music/performances, but she has also givin the same homage to DOZENS and dozens of other artists. Madge fans clearly just don't get it.
Just a tiny remark - Vogue was NOT celebrated by Madonna (commercially speaking maybe yes) but before her there was Malcolm McLaren who did "Deep In Vogue" with the dancers ("Waltz Darling" anyone?).
@Lonsterlmfu I get it.I have been a huge Madonna fan for over 25 years. Her music is the soundtrack of my teens and 20's and beyond. The generations are at odds, true. But I realize that Gaga is a huge talent. My only problem with her is that she's not moving forward image wise. In her mid 30's and on she can't keep going around like she is now. Fans (even me) grow up and move on in life. That's something that Madonna is an expert in. Gaga has talent but is more focused on her image
@IconicCulture I remember madonna being called queen of pop in 84 when into the groove got to number 1 (in the uk) and from then she went on to become the biggest pop star of the eighties, by 1990 she had overtaken Prince, Michael Jackson, and to this day remains the only one who is alive, healthy and has a career
@IconicCulture I'm not clueless. If u read all of my posts u would see that. Madonna played a few instruments, did she ever play them on stage? Blonde Ambition tour? NO. I don't care, she wz great in her day. That's obvious, I'm simply trying to make the point that people who say Madonna is way better than GaGa & GaGa sucks because Madonna wz first, I just personally find that erroneous. It is 25 years later. It's just a simple point I'm trying to make. Both great in their own right.
@Lonsterlmfu The thing is times do change, however with gaga nothing has changed, she is just producing music that is similar to what madonna did 20 years ago....how can gaga be considered "new" or "fresh" when what she is doing is basically a tribute act? Is 80s retro now avant garde?
@Lonsterlmfu Madonna is a cultural icon, this documentary is 20 years old. I cant recall people talking about gaga in the way they talked about madonna back then. like you said you are of the gaga generation, and to be fair the impact that gaga has had is nothing compared to madonna, its not even close.

@SuperSimonuk Well how could that possibly matter to any of us who are younger and missed the Madonna thing? If you look at the industry and you look at All GaGa's contemporaries you'll find that they have raised their game since GaGa has come out. She raised the bar and there is no denying it. I'm sure M had a big impact back in the dinosaur days but that is irrelevant to the kids buying up records today, we shouldn't compare the two because it's apples 2 oranges two totally different eras

Gaga is just as phenomenal as Madonna, plus she's broke a shit load of her sales records already and she's only about to release her 3rd album. So all you GaGa haters are blind. People have to understand it's a whole new generation who like someone who copying Madonna. Why do people have to understand anything, Why can't they think for themselves instead of trying to understand thing from perspective that is being sold to you.
