Developments is human index, Education, women development etc. Not glittering buildings. Tamil Nadu is in the top 3 places in all the Index in India. Travel 1 hour outside Bangalore and Hyderabad u will see what developments is there. But even the C towns in Tamil Nadu is developed. @@rsundar1973

MADRAS. We 80s 90s kids are lucky. We played outside, also enjoyed good cartoons on TV, we witnessed this era when Outdoor activities during summers were more fun. madras of 90s is nostalgic..graduated from kmc..used to travel maduravoyal by route no 53 ,would reach within 15 minutes. beyond koyambedu very little traffic. happened to see plenty of agricultural lands in the current inner ring road {vanagaram byepass}. used to ride my uncle's cycle right through wall tax road till high court. madras population is very accommodative. can write 5 essays about madras in no time.such a great city
Ponds factory, if you go past you could smell the perfume from the factory and at those time the smell could travel beyond Pallavaram. My childhood days were so awesome at nights it become so chill near the suburbs of pazhavanthangal, Nanganallur and Pallavaram. Madras was way more superior than what it is right now.. wide roads, less enroachments.. things started to get worse after the millennium.. 1995 is when Tidel park came and people from all across India moved to madras for work.
Perfect development Limited technology Perfect Work life balance Petrol cost 20 to 40 rs per liter made rest all things affordable.... And lots and lots of peace of mind. Sorry humans u never gonna have those golden times again till earth exist!!!!
The real Chennai always is parrys, marina, vyasarpadi,royapuram and nowadays people thinks Chennai means omr, Tambaram and outskirts chengalpattu areas 😃
Nostalgic memories. Still Chennai is the same. nothing has changed much. we used to have bill boards lights etc. now they removed all those. Chennai used to look colourful when it was Madras
As long as it was Madras it was awesome, the moment name was changed to Chennai the downside began. Somethings are best untouched, There is no merit in re-inventing the wheel. Madras was a lovely city to grow up in....it had all the modern amenities to be truly a hub of south India but also conservative where it needs to be. Crime was very low back then and people were cheerful unlike today. It had people of quality from other parts of India and contributed to its growth now totally flooded by outsiders.

Madras City is developed by British with good planning and infrastructure . After 2000 the congestion started with poor planning , corruption and now the city lacks basic infrastructure with heavy congestion.

4:43 this area is full of building now also meenambakam metro station. Lot of development in last 26 years Those days only that tank is visible. Now that tank is invisible because of tall buildings and metro
During, this time no IT, companies, ites population is less, very few people from districts,other states resided in chennai, then job opportunities expanded, people poured here.
