@@reydiantskyes8294 can you imagine if all of the shorts from MADtv (both SvS and Don Martin) were re-introduced on the Cartoon Network series for animation variety? I mean, these MADtv shorts look like hand-drawn animation.
4:21 Just Deserts Is possibly my favorite. For a show reliant on shorts, it managed to get a lot of personality and depth into the spies as a character.
5:54 Honestly, this is patriotism on another level. Even after getting scolded by his leader to the point of quitting, even after White Spy proposes him to join forces to take the leader down, he decides to stay true to his country and pulls out yet another scam onto his enemy.
That, or they all knew white spy was spying at the time, and black spy conveniently needed to clean house a little. It'd be such a devious plan, it'd be hilarious. No wonder they applauded him in the end.
MADTV Spy vs Spy Season 2 with Episode Titles: 0:00 The Big Bad Spy 0:47 Calling The Shots 1:35 Quit Stringing Me Around 2:05 Home Is Where The Hurt Is 3:03 Bury The Spy 3:30 Dream On 4:21 Just Deserts 6:05 All In Vain 6:54 The Karate Spy 7:32 Going Out With A Bang 8:12 Pool Party 8:30 The Weight-Ing Game 9:01 Spy-Mon Says 9:50 The Shock Of Your Life 10:08 Steel-Ing The Spotlight 10:48 Who's To Flame 11:11 Hanging Around 11:41 Just Plane Wrong 11:58 Crazy Antics 12:21 Why Don't You Brick On Someone Your Own Size 12:42 Buck Off 13:08 Tea Time
As an interesting little note, not all of these are Prohias Spy vs. Spy _strips,_ per se. Some of these are actually adaptions of _title gags,_ one-shot scenes which would sit behind the strip title ahead of the proper strip. You can kind of tell which ones these are because they tend to be one "scene" with no hard cuts (the cuts usually lining up to panel borders in the original strips). The "Pool Party" and "Who's to Flame" shorts are two that I distinctly remember as being title gags in the originals. Also interesting is that they appear to have adapted the strip of "Dream On" _twice,_ since a version showed up in the prior season with the opposite color spies in those roles. I think the version here in Season 2 is actually the correct original, with Black using the dream recordings to dunk on White (partly because this one actually has him wearing a captain's hat in the dream, which I remember from the original).
@@Redneck_Hero I didn’t even realize they did all that! O.O I thought maybe Hanna Barbera were the ones that did all this seeing how the hand drawing and animations reminds me of it a little bit
@@masterdrewt6698 Lol nope! It was created as a comic strip and featured in MAD Magazine. Then I guess it was so popular they kept it for MAD Magazine and MAD TV. I don't really know if it was created specifically for MAD or if it just caught their attention
Now that I think about it, it's a wonder this was even considered appropriate for kids considering how morbid it was. I mean, it's two spies killing each other with all manner of methods. Note: This comment is really old and I have gotten the point. So keep that in mind if you want to reply.
I don't think kids will care as long as it makes them laugh. For the record, spy vs spy, madTV, and in general Mad magazines were popular amongst kids aged 11 - 17 and up despite the magazine written mostly for adults given that it's largely based on satire and parodies of other pop culture media at the time. I know this because my mother told me how when she was in highschool, the school staff would confiscate mad magazines from other students who try to bring them to school. So while it's obvious that it's not meant for kids, that's not gonna stop them from trying.
Black Spy: (with the voice white Spy) *You are suck captain, You're a fucking idiot* Captain: What did you say? Black Spy: uhh nothing- Black Spy: (With the voice white Spy) *You're a goddamn captain. The best is the world White Spy* Captain: GUARD!!!!!!!! White Spy: (Laughing) Black Spy: Please don't kill me! Black Spy: (with the voice white Spy) *Kill me right now* Captain: Ready Black Spy: ¡PLEASE DON'T. I DIDN'T SAY THAT CAPTAIN! Captain: Set Black Spy (with the voice white Spy) *¡JUST KIDDING I DIDN'T SAY THAT. NOW KILL ME!* Captain: FIRE! (Shoot) White Spy: (Laughing)
The fact that White actively tried to help Black after his “firing” instead of just going for torture to get the information just shows that deep down White really respect Black as an worthy and formidable adversary and a skilled man
8:18 and 12:20 were just dark. Usually the good part is one has a trick, the other has a comeback. But this is just one straight up torturing the other.
4:28 Imagine if Black Spy didn't trick White Spy, he would've joined the White team and help them with other missions. Not gonna lie, I feel bad for Black Spy in that part.
I like how the victories go back and forth. It's not a constant beat down like with Tom and Jerry or Wil E. Coyote and the Roadrunner. They both take some nasty hits on the regular.
This is so great that you put these out here. I bought numerous spy vs spy books as a kid after seeing the comics in mad magazine. It’s so funny seeing them come to life.
I like to imagine that this all takes place in a huge Spy training school campus which explains the ridiculous sets and why they live next door to one-another.
The best Spy vs. Spy bits for me are the ones most simple and to the point. The super elaborate ones don't really work, in my opinion. The ones that always work the best are the ones with the least amount of setup. Those kill me every time.
Si lo miran con detenimiento, los 2 espías tienen diferentes personalidades y diferentes métodos. Siendo el blanco más de engaños sigilosos Y el negro de fuerza bruta y tortura
I never watched this SPY vs SPY, I only played a few games. a very fun type of cartoon from the 80s, Good times when TV was this cool. thanks for posting this videos @FireStar
