They used Carrie as bait. Imagine if Disney could spend all that money to have her as the main character. The Maxtrix-force-kongfu thing is definitely something fresh in Star Wars. And they decided to go with the young teenager with a dark family member route.
I saw the trailer and everything about it made me NOT want to watch this, lol I don't like this Matrixafying SW. I liked how George Lucas actually did knew things and hired unknown actors. Not just marking the typical Hollywood check boxes. SW is now just like every other generic abd unimaginative TV or movie media.
If all it took was a trick like this to kill a Jedi Master, then there'd be no Jedi left, they'd all be dead. They should've taught this to the Sith. "Yo, just throw something sharp at a bystander, watch em save them, freeze up for 5 seconds, then it's an easy kill!"
Tal Merrik stopped Obi Wan by holding the ship, his morals and Satine’s affection hostage. Yoda in his vision about Sidious has loses ground when he has to save Anakin and allows him to blast freely with force lightning. Yoda again lets Dooku get away when he has to save both Anakin and Obi Wan from a falling pillar before it crushes them. The Jedi’s enemies and especially the Sith have ALWAYS used the Jedi’s compassion against them.
Nah show is trash i bet but thats a bad take. Its a smart trick and was little used in the prequels and clone wars show. Remember when doku tried to kill obi and ani in order to distract yoda and escape
the jedi moral code of protecting innocents*. Mae obviously wasn't a match in power to her, so she used her own beliefs against her. Plus, indara made the huge mistake of having mercy on her, since she thought it was osha and not mae. Something that got her too emotional and therefore distracted.
@@alexheisenberg8709So why didn't she help her friends at the table to take down the assassin? She just wasted her life to protect a random stranger in the background instead of her friends? Just accept it. This is just lazy and horrible writing like all of the star wars stuff they release recently.
@@yarnickgoovaerts Reva didn't get medical attention either. And she was stabbed twice by a lightsaber. Once when she was a little girl. And she walked it off both times.
do you remember when they tried to arrest palpatine? they went out in seconds lol 😅 or that parasaur jedi blasted by jango fett? many jedi arent all that
@echidnaralsei1473 that's against palpatine bro. Palpatine was one of the strongest sith ever and on par with Yoda. Of course others seem weak in comparison. Here a Jedi master was fighting Dave Chappelle from the lil wayne skit and she died from a single hand thrown projectile. Like Jedi don't deflect fast moving projectiles for a living or something.
-Lets everyone else fight her and die -starts to just toy with her doesn't actually fight her -saves a random bartender despite not caring for anyone else and dies Jedi Master everyone
@@yl1614to be fair she is a female Jedi master so… Love the delivery of “attack me with all your strength” 😂 god I don’t know something in her voice I would chalk it up to her being a young actress but she is 25 not so young just very inexperienced
Watch the episode. She’s been instructed not to use weapons (her dagger’s being the exception) to kill Four Masters. Her collecting a lightsaber would be a useless accessory to her and against her master’s wishes.
it's clearly shown she needs to take a saber off a living jedi, if you fuckwads would just pay attention to the damn show instead of inventing things to be mad about this would be addressed
@@willisstillhere8846tbh there are a ton of things wrong with this series. For starters, the writers, producer and actors have all shown a complete lack of understanding and respect for the franchise and lore. As for this fight specifically, the choreography is off and wire work off putting. It doesn’t even make sense as to why the Jedi isn’t fighting back when told outright she is trying to kill her. As for the knife, tbh the other series are a joke that they can take a stab from a lightsaber and live but it’s also laughable to think she got killed the way she did. I used to love Star Wars. The quality though has been going steadily downhill and now it’s just a joke. They’re too interested in spreading DEI rather than telling good stories.
be fair stab to the heart. but in truth yea unless you are probably thrown staright into a bacta tank after being stabbed by a lightsaber, you gonna die, and even then i imagine implants would be required of the cybernetic variety. quigon died of his injuries but in the defense he was left there without any hope of medical aid for several minutes as obi wan had to deal with maul. does not jsutify REEEEEva's continued existence in any way cause he had neither. Even maul needed crude prosthetics. And darth vader shitloads of implatns and cybernetics after he got deep fried.
@@hypercriticalbrit " the writers, producer and actors have all shown a complete lack of understanding and respect for the franchise and lore." Now explain how they have all disregarded the lore. Because you can just say something but explaining it is the real part. "It doesn’t even make sense as to why the Jedi isn’t fighting back when told outright she is trying to kill her." Because jedi don't kill? This is literally the best showing of a true jedi. Not someone who pulls out a lightsaber at any small inconvenience like Obi Wan. And it's clear enough that the jedi master was more than enough to handle her without the lightsaber. "that they can take a stab from a lightsaber and live but it’s also laughable to think she got killed the way she did. " Because she got pierced in the heart by a poisoned dagger? It isn't that hard to understand. Yet you had no problem when Maul and Anakin came back despite them suffering the worst wounds in the franchise I like and prefer the EU but acting like this is a fall from George's prequels is cap. The prequels was a shitshow
Sabine: Gets stabbed by a 20,000 to 25,000 degrees Celsius lightsaber, in the liver, kidneys, gallbladder, severing her thoracoepigastric vein = Is fine. Jedi Master Indara: Poked by a blade (Not even a Vibro Blade as seen in 1:05) and dies in 38 seconds.
@@flaviomonteiro1414 Qui Gon got pi3rced clean-through with a 20k-degree-centigrade lightsaber, so it's not really the same as that micro knife. "You call that a knoife? THAT'S A *KNOIFE!"*
I don't know what is more ridiculous: - That the showrunners hyping a character only to kill it at the 5 min opening; or, - The fact she dies from being stabbed once with a dagger while several characters have survived being stabbed by a laser sword. Edit: And according to some comments, the people of Star Wars are like vampires if they can only die by being stabbed to the heart.

@@ThomasMees I would have accepted it as homage had the rest of the film convinced me through writing the writers understood basic plot elements, well enough, I could stretch my imagination they understand intermediate writing techniques.
What a ridiculous outcome, unexpected death for the sake of cheap shock value. Given Mae's performance in the fight leading up to that moment, there was no way she would've killed Master Indara so easily.
@@MAstaKFC I imagine in this time period Jedi Masters are very difficult to kill, let alone if anyone would try. Mae is a skilled fighter, but she couldn’t have defeated Indara, a Jedi Master without exploiting her weaknesses
@@ThunderBZaper I still find it hard to believe that a Jedi Master can't multitask with the Force. A knight, padawan, youngling, yes, not a Jedi Master.
"A jedi doesn't pull her weapon unless prepared to kill." What? where did that "logic" come from? Jedis have used their sabers many a times in self defence both in current canon and the expanded universe that was non canonized by Disney. Are the writers/producers trying to retcon more Jedi lore?
@@MCSPARTAN501 Isn't it literally discussed all the way in Kotor 1 during the PC learning the Jedi Code at the Jedi temple on Dantooine? Not as a RULE per say, but a philosophy, further touched on by Mace in Shatterpoint. Furthermore even during Clone Wars show, it is touched on how using a lightsaber one has to be ready for all the consequences of such action, including killing. I think there was this matter discussed in older Tales of the Jedi comics and even Kyle Katarn in Jedi Knight series spoke about it?
I don't recall saying that a Jedi doesn't pull their weapon unless they are prepared to kill. Obi wan hacked off some limbs but didn't necessarily kill someone (just some slap some bacta on it!) A Jedi I would assume understand how deadly a lightsaber is and that it is used to kill but can also be a tool to hack through materials, stand down a room who realize "oh crap, it's a Jedi", etc...

This is such a stupid comment. That’s like saying a knife is now 500 times more deadlier than a pistol. Both are deadly weapons at the end of the day lol, quit complaining just to complain. There’s 100 other things about this show to diss.
Indara: Jedi do not attack the unarmed... (Mae pulls out a knife and starts attacking with it) Audience: Hey, Jedi lady! She's clearly armed now! Why are you still playing pat-a-cake with her?!
I mean, Jedi are still supposed to try to find solutions that don't end in death. She was probably aiming to restrain Mae for further interrogation and save the patrons.
Carrie Anne Moss was literally the only reason I was even slightly interested in watching. Glad my time has been saved. At least the choreography was better than all of the drivel that’s come out of Disney so far.
@@royfokerpoker1802 they do dingus if they want to see what happened. This is nothing new scene movies and shows always kills the most popular characters at the beginning.
Actually this does happen to both Yoda and Anakin, only different is Anakin got knock out in one episode and other one got electricity repeatedly, I suprised Emperor didn't stab Yoda in the back while Yoda trying to save Anakin in very last Clone Wars episode before Disney season 7 came out, Emperor could have kill Yoda, Emperors literally got a chance to stab but choose electricity instead then but luckily it just an illusion, you know for powerful sith lord, Emperor really is very stupid during Duel fight mode, Mae literally have a smart battle IQ than Emperor Palpatine the powerful sith lord himself 💀
Case: “She killed Indara so easily. She just threw a knife while she was distracted.” Argument: “Canonically, Jedi have shown to need immense concentration to use the force. So yes, she was distracted because the knife needed her full focus.” Case closed. Case: “Indara was killed too easily! Lightsabers are useless!” Argument: “Mae threw the knife into her heart. There was a real life case where someone was stabbed through the heart and they also died. Star Wars has never shown people getting hit in vital areas, only through the middle stomach area. And every time, the character didn’t just immediately die, compared to getting horizontally or vertically sliced which has been shown to be more fatal. (Reva being the only exception where this argument doesn’t apply). Case closed. Case: “Sabine shouldn’t survived. Qui-Gon died. She should too.” Argument: “Again… Qui-Gon didn’t immediately die. Han Solo was also unalived in a similiar matter, and he’s the only character ON SCREEN to have a lightsaber stuck inside him longest and he STILL didn’t immediately die. Sabine got medical attention quickly. CASE. CLOSED.
Oh no, a citizen, what should I do? Should I push the assassin with the force before she has the chance to throw the knife? Or I just stand here, waiting for her to throw the knife so I could stop it and get distracted from the knife hitting my chest?
indara realized it was mae after seeing that tatoo in her forehead after she took off the mask, and she thought she was dead. So she was shocked and made the huge mistake of having mercy on her for whatever happened on brendok, wich was her downfall.
3:16 Wait, that’s how she dies? You have her do all this swift, argyle, and amazing fighting, and you kill her off like that? Why would you do that to Carrie-Anne Moss? Are you serious?
Master Indara only died because the murderer pulled a dirty trick, otherwise she would never have been able to defeat her. Plus, that knife hit her directly in the heart and was probably poisoned to boot so of course she was going to die!
@@khalduras784 Them not using their lightsabers is more jedi like than Ben Kenobi or any of the prequels jedi that pulled a lightsaber at any small disturbance despite Jedi not killing or using their weapons until it is needed

How is it that when Indara gets stabbed in the chest with a small dagger she dies almost instantly but when Sabine literally gets stabbed through the gut by a lightsaber she’s perfectly fine?
Completely wasting such a great actress like Carrie Ann Moss, and also pretty dishonest marketing, considering Carrie was heavily featured in the material and was even in the cover art.
Wait. So Vader stabbed that female inquisitor twice by using lightsaber and couldn’t kill her, here trinity was killed by a blade? How? Because trinity is a white woman?
There seems to be a bit of a pattern in this show. - evil lady attacks jedi master - jedi master, being a jedi master, trivially defends themself without attacking back (as a jedi master would...) - jedi master does something very stupid (or doesn't do something, in this case) that causes them to die for the sake of the plot
That line about the Jedi not pulling a weapon unless prepared to kill is the worst part of the scene. It's worse than Carrie-Anne Moss dying, which is a big one. It makes as much sense for her to lower her guard from that line as it would if Mae just asked her to lower it.
I haven't even watched it and I'm seeing this... no I'm good idk wat these ppl are doing to our star wars smh I was looking forward to her role and that happens 😫😭💔
They brought the legendary Carrie Anne Moss over to Star Wars just to kill her like this. Imagine a John Wick movie where they have Asia Kate Dillon character kills off Laurence Fishburne character.
One thing I can’t stand about these force-enhanced hand to hand combat scenes is that there is no excuse for the fight to last more than about 5 seconds. The Jedi here threw the fight, plain and simple. Every block, parry, dodge, and lock could have been coupled with a force push, but the jedi only used that strategy once. So frustrating.
@@darkwarrior_998not about power in this instance, its about position. Would you say a knife is more powerful than a pistol? No, but a knife to the heart will kill you while there’s a chance of surviving a gunshot to the gut.
we did have maul survive being cut in half. but it seemed like he managed to use the dark side to force himself to stay ailve long enough for aid. Darth vader did the same. reeva i guess is implied to but unlike the rest she didn't get aid in the slightest for her injuries. common denominator in a lot of these cases is dark siders..... sabine is another story entirely. maybe it can be reperable damage if you get someone into a bacta quickly and with qui gon he was left on the floor for several minutes without any possible hope of medical aid. The other common denominator is immediate mortal blow area. blade as long enough to enter the heart.
A seasoned Jedi Master can't use the Force to save a bystander AND keep their own defenses up against an opponent at the same time? Force-users CAN do two things at once, you know. Kylo Ren, knowing that Snoke was monitoring his mind, managed to convincingly THINK the thing Snoke wanted while DOING what Kylo actually wanted. That probably took even more discipline and skill than just stopping a flying knife while still protecting oneself.
While I’m not a fan of the show. It’s awesome Carrie-Anne Moss (AKA Trinity) is in the show. Should’ve given her more time on the show though, in my opinion.
