I went here on my last trip. This market felt like Pasar Malam because sell Pork, Sea Food, Vegetables....etc. The important is the price damn cheap! Oh inside the train station there is a lady selling BBQ Squid. Original taste without add on any flavoring or seasoning! Must try. 20 Baht (Small Size), 25 Baht (Medium Size) or 30 Baht (Big Size)
The power units sound like diesel truck engines. I almost want to compare them to the North American-based Detroit Diesel Series 60, but I think the eras might be different.
Nice. But...... If you look at Google Maps and Streetview you can see that only the last mile or so of the track is still there. The train is running back and forth for tourist purposes a couple of times a day. Check the next railroad crossing down the line on Streetview. Tracks gone.
