Last year, we used Raptor, but it wasn't as vigorous or as bulky. This stuff has more dry matter, which I think will help with water retention. We seeded this at 800 grams per hectare. The savings on canola alone is 1.3 kilos. The cost saving is $80 per hectare. This is strip till 30 inch canola down to 250mm with 30-inch spacing planted with a Maestro precision planter.
The trial area, Greg, is 180 feet wide. You can see where it changes from normal to Maestro back to non-strip. We used 60 kilos of MAP and only 120 of urea on top so far. This should bring it up to the same amount of Nitrogen.. You think this is a game changer?
It's appearing that way. This is the second year we're looking at it, and I think it's a game changer. It's amazing. The roots were down 180 mm in six weeks. This has only been in the ground for seven weeks, since the 18th of April. Look at the size of it. Incredible!
