Thanks for sharing. I love dudes like this guy. My first mentor was an anomaly like this. Fast (proper fast) on any style of bike, spent more time one one wheel then two, and rode pretty much dirt bike style (elbows out and not hanging down the side of the bike). He was smooth too. He was one of the first to get on one of the original s1000rr back in the day. He would say “prefer wider bars and more upright stance but need the power of the superbike for big phat wheelies to forget your feelies”. Also if he was being honest he would admit he hated being passed by lesser riders in the long straights so superbike was the ultimate weapon of choice. He lived in a shed with his bike. Never saw him wash his bike ever. I tried my best to learn from him but he was so far removed from anything orthodox it was difficult. I remember when asked what tyres to run he would answer, “black rubber ones” or if questioned what tyre pressure to run he would remark “just press your finger on the tyres and make sure it doesn’t compress too much” He hated pretenders or disrespect and woukd say, “if there is an air gap between your knee and the side of the bike you weren’t really knee down, you were just pretending.” However my fave quote of his was “the best rider is the one that dies of old age.” He had chronic ADD and in general didn’t really fit in with society but was a genuine genius with super high IQ. A true freak of nature and gifted beyond belief on two wheels. This channel has become my favourite. It is for the real riders out there and I can tel if I knew u u would be a great mentor as well. My first "experience " of Tank was when he started posting on my group on FB "the like minded bikers" Posting up videos of crashing his bike, forcing it back together. Getting back on with crutches and just carrying on! There isn't alot of people that can do that. The man is becoming a legend. Great video....
Tank is the best! Met him in Hawaii when he first acquired the Triumph about 100 thousand miles ago. He’s free as free can be on the Bonnie. Love the man!
I introduced Tank to Chuck, was on that ride that day. Chuck up front then Tommy, with Tank hounding him, I'm right behind Tank on the Harley enjoying the show... Could tell Tommy distracted by straight pipe Triumph on his tail, damp spots on the road,in the shaded areas, Tommy low sided, Tank avoided Tommy and bike, I avoided both, Tank checked quickly on Tommy, then blocked uphill traffic, I blocked downhill traffic, Tommy checked bike, dusted off, and we got underway again, Chuck, Tank, myself, Tommy, then another quick guy riding with...
I was impressed with Tank avoiding Tommy and bike, and speed that he checked Tommy was ok, then immediately controlled traffic, coming into that blind turn 👍
