Being his brother in law (wifes brother) I had the greatest fortune of being with him and accompanying him to umpteen concerts. Sigh if only we had the technology then we would have had hundreds of such amazing videos. Enjoyed the video . Legends come once in a century. Glad I spent some awesome time with him.
It is a great experience to listen to the soul stirring music produced by the great maestro, Chittibabu. Being away from India for so long, Chittibabu's music reminded me of my mother and sisters, who used to espouse classical music. Finally, it is true that great maestros do not appear on this planet except for once in a while.
I recorded a beautiful vîna melody on MW radio in the mid-70s in Shântiniketan, WB, from Orissan radio. I've been asking in Paris and Bhubaneswar, but nobody knows or wants to tell who or what it is. I can write down the melody and play it on the guitar. Probably Chittibabu, but which râga?
