The Moto Guzzi Griso 1200 SE 8V is one of the coolest cruisers anywhere. What is better than cruising up Sunset Blvd. on this magnificent Italian Machine? But can it hang with the BMW S100RR? or a Yamaha R1, or a Honda CBR1000RR? No way you say??

Guzzi handling is amazing, very stable. I ride a Breva 1200 Sport, and I keep up with my buddies on CBRs and Ducati sport bikes! Not saying they couldn't get away whenever thay wanted, but at the normal 80%+ pace, I keep up no problem.

Agreed! Check out the actual roadtest to watch the Griso from behind. I think you will enjoy and pass it on to you CBR and Ducati buddies! Thank you!!

I've got a Griso just like that one and a Tuono. My Griso gets twice the miles on it even though I love them both so much!

When you're pushing 200 hp who cares? Right? It has a great chassis, but like everything else it does need to be set up.

I'm trying to figure out just what it is that you've done with front brakes- I'm a fellow Griso owner, and that is definitely NOT a stock brake fluid reservoir. This means of course that you've changed the matter cylinder, which I can't see in your video. With what? What have you done? Did you change rotors, calipers and pads as well? I'm running stock and I've always felt that the brakes are "fine". Not great, just fine. I'm considering sintered pads as I've had great luck with them on other bikes- Honda VFR 800, Honda 919 Hornet, etc. Tell me what your set up is, and how you feel about it.

It has a Brembo 19 RCS Master which was installed by the former owner. Brakes work great but since I didn't ride the bike with the stock master, I can't give you a good comparision. Looks to be stock rotors. If it was me, I would try the soft pads before I went through the time and expense of upgrading the master though. Good luck and please let me know how you do!!

We need more on how the Griso behaves--torque, power, which gear does it like to run in, rev limitations, brake action, balance, etc. Also, it seemed to 'pogo' a lot, from the occasional glimpses of the instrument cluster. The CBR1000RR rider seemed unsure--on and off the brakes, not confident about the corners or where the road was going. The Griso road test should help us understand (don't forget the heat from the left jug, close to the leg, which inflicted second-degree burns on my calf, road testing a Stelvio).

How does the Guzzi compare to your R1100GS?
@themaestro1881
@themaestro1881 Год назад
We could do a long comparison on this question but in a nutshell, the GS is a more capable, easier to ride, and more comfortable bike. The Guzzi is cooler, Pull up to your favorite pizza place on the Guzzi and it takes a half hour to take your seat and another half hour to leave. It feels and sounds great cruising the city. But on unfamiliar roads, out in the hinterlands on any type of road, or splitting lanes all day, the GS takes the prize. Don't get me wrong. I love the Guzzi but it is just not nearly as versatile as the GS.
