Back in Mafia 1, if you get caught speeding, you'll pay fines. You could even set a non-agressive driving respecting traffic speed limits, also in Mafia 2. This new Mafia 3 sucks in all ways but the music...

The problem is in. The mafia 1 and mafia 2 also was made by czechs. And what else at mafia 2 they already had some experience. But mafia 3 was made by americans without experience.

This is sad! Mafia 1...one the best games I have ever played! Funny thing...most of my top 5 favorite games are from the years between 1998-2002! Back then games were made with passion and love...these days most AAA games are made for money!

There's nothing in this world I would want more than a remake of Mafia (including Freeride Extreme, which sadly is broken on anything newer than Windows XP). It does look really dated now, but the music, story, voice acting and gameplay is still great. It's pretty much the only game where I care about the story, and I actually care more about it than any TV series or movie. Playing Mafia is quite possibly the highlight of my life so far, that's how much I like it. Mafia 3 feels a lot like the last Assassin's Creed game, both fairly good games that fail to hold my interest for too long at a time (and both run on awfully unoptimized engines).

Mafia 1 = Full Czech Developers Mafia 2 = Czech Developers under influences of bigger international companies Mafia 3 = American Developers Mafia 4 = Confirmed is being worked on. Again by Czech developers. Lets see.

Кстати заметили как кровь в мафии 3 не течет после того как завалил кого-нибудь, она просто масштабируется! Текстурка крови масштабируется, ппц! И в мафии 3 тебя нереально сбить, не задавить, а сбить, чтобы тебя отбросило от машины, а в мафии легко, просто автор не смог поймать момент, но поверьте такое есть!

I've never been more terrified about police in any other game than mafia 1. Seeing them when speeding through town makes me slam on the brakes every time.

Imagine there was a Mafia 1 remake. It would be three times better than the new game, even if it's not completely bad.

Whether they wanted it or not, Mafia III has served very well the purpose of making Mafia I even greater, a video game released 14 YEARS AGO. For everything else does not deserve be considered as a Mafia game.

what about the animation in which they clutch their body part where they were shot at, or the addition of alligators , or the wipers that work when it's raining , or how the rain changes with different lighting , or the way NPCs react with each other, or the vehicles that handle differently and many other addition but no apparently breaking car windows or flushing toilets are immersion for me

It's also possible to let a car explode by one direct shot in the gas tank and it's also possible to break the lock by shooting it. They put so much detail just into the cars, it is still amazing.

Да в принципе, любую игру возьми, выпущенную 10-15 лет назад, она будет лучше во всем, за исключением графики, и то не всегда. А сейчас, не проработанные и не продуманные игры - это уже норма, всё нормально. Я что-то не понимаю?.....я хоть в игры уже толком не играю, но судя по всему Мафия уже качается :), что игроки стали менее требовательней, или обленились в самый край, что им суют, то и едят?

I already had my fears about Mafia 3 when it got revealed, then those fears turned into reality. In Mafia 3, you don't feel like a mobster/gangster/mafia whatever you want to call it, you feel like some psycho maniac on a killing spree *against* the mafia. Bothered me as well that they jumped towards the 70s, to me that feels a bit far ahead, considering the golden age for the crime families was from 1930s to the late 1940s. Before the federal bereau was founded and during the prohibition and all that. Of course thats nitpicking the game, but there is sooo much more wrong with it. If anything, Lincoln fits more the title of mercenary than anything else. One of my biggest disappointmens of 2016 in gaming, even got me to uninstall Mafia 3 and re-install Mafia 2. Buuuut, devs from Mafia 1 & 2 are now working on Kingdom Come: Deliverance from Warhorse Studios which is turning out to become a great game!

I loved how there was a speed limit and cops giving you tickets instead of going for violence right of the bat like GTA and such. Never seen another game do that since

It's very difficult to blow up a car with a gun anyway. Even if you manage to hit the fuel tank, it's still pretty rare for any explosion to happen.
