This game was developed at the same time as GTA 3 which kinnda looked like shit even for it's time. The graphics blew me away at the time.

If you leave your guns before exiting the prison the two guys from police will do a search on you instead of shooting.

And if you keep your guns hidden in your coat, they will search, but will arrest you because they've found your weapons. They only shoot if you draw a weapon.

2:58 What Vincenzo says is actually true. The Mosin was produced in USA during WW1 by Remington and North England Westinghouse, the russians/soviets started a sniper program in the 1930's. The only anachronistic part of this rifle is the scope. That PU scope, which wasn't invented and implemented until 1942. A more correct optic would have been either a PE or PEM. On the Definitive Edition, they replaced it with a Springfield 1903A1, which makes more sense because it was one of the standard issue rifles of US Armed forces

If you hide the body of the first person you shoot at entrance, the police wouldn't come against you on exit

Uff, I finaly done it. Thanks 4 help :) Note that You need to have 100% health to make that mission, is real hard to do but possible. Why there is no more missions with sniper rifle... Mafia 1 is one of the greatest games I played !!!

The part where you have to shoot across the island is bugged for me. All NPC's are frozen and don't respond to shots. I think it has something to do with Widescreenfix.

Is just me or the shoots , guns and fights are more realistic here than Mafia 3 ? Mafia 3 look so cartoony and arcade compared to this and we were in 2002 lol Plus..the first Mafia had not the crap of regenerative energy and was much better and more realistic.

I think they're far more realistic because they're less fast-paced and require you to be accurate. If they made Mafia 3 like that they'd have loads of people complaining that it's too difficult.

Actually Mafia 3 has better and more realistic aiming system because in NPCs in Mafia are spongy they take too many bullets to the head to die unlike Mafia 3 and Mafia 3 has adrenaline shots in the inventory so that the player doesn't need to panic when there's no medic bags/boxes around. I'm not sure how someone could even think that 1 is more reakistic than 3 in terms of aiming and shooting system, it seems funny.

The sole difficulty with this game for me, was to overcome the boredom of the repetitive immersive experience of having to drive over short, to moderate, to long distances to finish jobs. Beyond a point, I was just racking up traffic violations.
