@@frogmorely Walk on a landmine then. See if you come out alive. What the rat is doing is similar to lab animals during the space race. Many died, a few survived and those lucky enough to be known are at least mentioned
Rats are so much smarter and friendlier than most ppl could ever imagine!! YAY for this wonderful guy, I hope he has a family to live out his life with!
Hooray for this little hero. I had a rat that lived over 5 years and he was a gentle loving little guy who wanted out of his cage to snuggle up un my neck when I got home.❤
Aren't rats animals that need to be kept together with others of the same species? People in many countries think it's okay to keep e.g. parrots alone, amongst other social creatures, even though keeping parrots alone is extremely stressful for them. They can even die earlier. (If someone is interested in the studies, I can send the names) Dunno if it's the same in rats.
20 years of service, and still the best one, it shows how hard to train rats and even Magawa maybe have some fellow rats but Magawa still considered as the best. I'm waiting for animated movie about Magawa, if there's any 😁🐀
Check our APOPOs official site, and see how they started, how the rats are socialized and trained, and how much their human partners care about them.....AND how they've taught them to detect TB in sputum samples ❤️
Wow, that's the next country over from where I live. We sure messed that country up 55 years ago now, takes a good rat to help fix what us bad rats did.
Awwwwwww. Him wearing his tiny medal!!!! 🏅🏅😭😭😭😭❤❤❤❤❤ He's adorable. And I hope he has a lovely home to retire to for the rest of his days. This lil man deserves all a rat's heart desires until the end of his days. 🏆
Rats are such amazing creatures 😭 thank you for your service magawa ❤️❤️ I rescue small animals and I can tell you from experience that there's so much more to them than people think.
As Combdeians we are forever grateful to Africa for this intelligent animal, I never visited Africa continent but next year I will be visiting Ethiopia as part of my vacation and hoping to visit more countries as its rich in culture, history and amazing food...
Rats are very smart, loving, and cleaner than a cat. Loved mine, unfortunately they have a short life. Mine were friendly and well behaved up your arm sit on you shoulder. Loved too be petted and cuddled. I hope he's taken care of and has a great retired life!! And is spoiled!!
In Hinduism, rats and mice symbolize the ego. That's the idea behind the rat in Ratatouille and it's also from which Walt Disney got his idea for Mickey Mouse.
Bruh that some BS right there, I just fact checked and Disney got his idea of Micky mouse from a tame rat at his table and the chef rat is inspired by actual chef in real life ( source: Wikipedia). I don't get why some Indian people have to make everything related to India.
Actually mine clearing is the rice bowl for some people. So they will always ensure that there are mines available to be cleared to continue to receive their salary and fundings
Let me give you some of the perspective the rat originated from Tanzania trained then sent to help in the finding land mines/bomb it did great job now no credit to the Tanzania county nor the actual institution that trains rat to detect bombs. So you can see how people dislike it as the people that help are not given the respect they deserve and did you see the clip of an African man that lasted less than 20 sec that is the handler and trainer but we should all like the video FFS Give credit and respect to the people that did research, invested university money to training, give their time to teach them rats to do that
@@rashidazzan35 They're congratulating the rat, because altho a man was the one that trained him, the man wasn't the one risking his life. I see what you mean but that would be like thanking the lifeguards teacher for what the lifeguard did
For those interested in supporting this work, you can "adopt" one of APOPO's pouchies! You'll get info and updates about them, and find out more about how much good APOPO is doing. The HeroRats project started by clearing dangerously landmined areas in Africa; now the program has spread, as well as expanded to training some of the pouchies to detect TB in sputum samples. In parts of the world where medical facilities for testing, diagnostics, and testing are few and far between, and very expensive, the HeroRats can be lifesavers. They can detect the TB infection in preliminary tests, and then further testing for confirmation on those particular samples help to stop the spread by treating possible outbreaks much quicker than tradition testing....which can be very difficult in remote areas. Check out APOPO on the web....they are truly a great organization, and have saved so many lives ❤️
