I believe Spies ran out of fuel in that first race. Not sure if the team short filled the tank or the R1 just burned more fuel than expected. And yes, Fabrizio screwed Haga over.

In the title hunt for that year Fabritz shoulda let Haga win all Races- that and Rea clipping Haga dashed his hopes of his only WSBK title... but this was a great year for WSBK-
