The Order of Hermes are the quintessential wizards of legend. When you think of highly structured high magic, employing Kabbalistic scripture, the Ars Goetia, the Keys of Solomon, and such, you are most likely thinking of a Hermetic mage.
In this video, we will learn some basic facts about this faction of mages in Mage: the Ascension, how they operate, find new recruits, and what they value in their members.
In future videos, we will learn more about their history, some Houses within their Tradition, and so forth, but for now this will be more than enough for your teachings.

Good video! A quick tip: the volume of the music is too closely matched to that of your voice - it makes it hard to focus on what you're saying. Also, the music is, at times, very highly pitched - this makes it distracting and compounds the issue of focus. Thanks for your continued Mage material. :)

Thanks for the tip! I was a bit rushed making this one or I would have checked the audio one more time! Usually I put the music much lower than this.

Is Mage: the Ascension updated similarly as V5, or does everything fit with V20?

So M20 is the definitive edition of Mage at the moment. There’s talk of making M5 but that is far from us at the moment. Just like with V20, most of the lore from M20 will probably carry over to M5, but for now if you get the M20 core rule book you should have a very solid foundation. It’s available for sale on drivethrurpg as print on demand or pdf.

@@ThePrimogen For now I am merging parts of V5 lore with that of a very long previous campaign that turned everything upside down around 2012 in a similar way. The biggest difference is not the second inquisition, but various kindred are behind most changes. An intermediate group, "the Watchers" worked with both the Inconnu and some top Tremere to bring magic back. Basically that was the reason the Tremere were set up. Using massive amounts of vitae and chantries all over the world the fused a network similar to ley lines. Lots of intrigue and a mix of good guys and bad guys that don't get along but often choose to work together as the lesser evil. The SI could be one branch of this. So I only need a little bit of backstory if such a storyline isn't too far fetched. And may some lore I could use around Barcelona from 1700 to now would be nice.

would you consider doing a video on virtual reality and other sort of not-real-world computer related subjects in regards to world of darkness?

Thanks for the tip! I might at some point! I'm currently back to doing VtM content for the moment, but I might revisit more Technocracy and the more tech-focused Traditions in the future.
