some of the songs ride wrote while he's not a huge phenomenal guitar player he's a salad guitar player back in the day when he wanted to be.. like one who wrote The killing of Georgie those are all so simple chords but another great song written by Rod himself
I finally could afford a good Accoustic. Aren't we so forturant to be part of a generation of really talented artists. Your tutorials are appericiated.
this song has a great intro. it is also used as the outro but with mandolin and vocals added to push it over the top. an absolutely superb song and always a joy to hear - ty
James really appreciated you sharing your story and the PSA. Wishing you all the best this year. Been listening to a lot of Faces lately, so this tune was well timed. Loved it, great job. My favorite lately has been stay with me, such a great rocking tune.
JJ what a great start to 2019, a classic ! Here's wishing you and yours the very best 2019. I hope you are on your way to a complete recovery and excellent care for yourself this year !! We are what we eat, let's all consider what we consume and perhaps try to eat like our grandparents.
Hey dude........glad to see you’re doing better........keep it slow and simple...........what’s that old saying smell the roses............... i’ve been playing the guitar since 1973........... The music industry has been very good to me.............. you have that gift not many have.......... your approach is one of the coolest I’ve viewed........... your following shows just that........ you’ve kept the lessons / tutorials to the point........ that’s something to admire.........being admired for doing something that one does....... that my friend is a natural high............... glad to see that you treasure that love of music........anyway stay frosty
Great stuffJJ and thanks for the listen. A song that takes me back to happier days - The Faces playing at Watford Town Hall (U.K.), "Maggie May" at number 1 in the charts and "Every Picture" and "Nod's as Good as A Wink" albums in the charts......plus I had hair then!
SIMPLY DE BEST ..I get a lot of enjoyment & instruction from your VIDEOS.. thanks for your time.. you keep me still playing cheers from the Land Downunder.
You truly are so talented. I save nearly all of your videos so I can learn to play them the right way. Although my arthritis is getting worse and I am getting old fast. Lol.. These are the songs I grew up with and to me they will always be the best. Thank God I was born at possibly the best time in music history. Thank you James! Wishing you and yours the best for 2019!
Nicely done James, as always. And like everyone here I'm glad to see you feeling better. So much so that I wanted to say thanks. IM 52 and your PSA got me to schedule a complete physical (somthing I've not done in 15 years or so) and talk to him about a colonoscopy and anything else I've put off. Im nervous as hell about it I don't mind saying.:)
I'm at that place too & can't afford it I had a High School friend that a couple of years before did some electrical for me & helped me out because he knew I was down, his decline, the pictures from the family, you couln't recognize him, just broke my heart. 50 yrs old & gone. Hope others see James video.
The only two Faces members to play on the song were Ronnie Wood: guitars and Ian McLagan organ. The guitar intro was played by Martin Quittenton who was also the cowriter of the song.
Always feels good to get a notification whenever you post so I can play along with you or work out how to play it right, and knowing what we know now I appreciate it so much more.
i was just thinkin bout ya and up pops this new video and got play along and sing... brightened my day you did satd yoda.... i am so glad you are kickin ..... i think you go to eleven
Awesome song and glad to see your doing better and playing again. Enjoyed your guitar collection and happy to hear you say you'd still save the Gibson SJ-200
Great strum-along choice and so smoothly done, you make it look effortless as always. Not at all meant as a critique, but an observation: why do I hear some dissonance when you hit the open D chord through most of the song, I wonder? Maybe they are throwing something else in there? For example, around 2:30 or so - you sound absolutely correct to my ears, but it seems something in the recording clashes a slight bit for some reason - it's weird. Still, I loved your video and thanks for sharing.
