It was a shame that Eddie Hazel was not very well-known during that time that man was amazing on the guitar till this day he will always be remembered as one of the greatest of all times in black music and now white fans are catching on to this man with much love rest in peace Eddie Hazel❤❤❤❤❤

Man a much as i love dave and his guitar playing i have to say the best cover is pearl jams mike mcready covering it. Look up the version in milwaukee, they do little wing before it as well and the way they flow into each other is just unreal.

There’s only a few times music can touch people like this. This really did it justice. Covers like this brings the deserved attention to the original as well.
Between this and your Before the Beginning rendition its pretty hard to pick which is more incendiary, but the contest is tons of fun to officiate with repeated listens. Your passion and emotion are exactly the kind of thing that Maggot Brain is all about.

Dave, I wanted to say I have listened to your rendition of Maggot Brain and it is one of the best, so soulful. I think yours is as good as Bucketheads. I cant believe famous guitarists like Alvin Lee, Clapton, Gary Moore havent done this. Every famous guitarist should do Maggot Brain, I think it is the ultimate solo. As a teen I saw Funkadelic playing at the Capital Center just outside DC. For me one of the high points of the show was Maggot Brain. I have listened to this song many times. Your cover is awesome!
