@@thedavesimpson woow man ... i have no words .. you just blow my mind! Wonderful !!! P.s. where did you got this shirt I'm spending my lifespan searching for it lol really need to know ! And wonderful again !
Dave, this is magnificent. You’ve explained you can’t afford to go to the current RHCP tour, but they should be inviting you as a guest player. To see you playing a version of this with JF would be just amazing. It’s their loss if they chose not to have you on! Imagine us mere mortals playing with this intensity in our spare bedrooms!😂
This brought tears to my eyes. You play with immense passion and soul, and for 8 minutes and 43 seconds nothing in my life existed outside of your playing. John Frusciante may be your idol, but you sir are MY idol.
@@DanielVillamor67Jzz don’t forget they’re all getting quite old now, John’s 51 and the rest are pushing 60. Regardless of if he stays or fucks off again, the band doesn’t have a whole lot of time left
There are players who play with emotion, but it's always under a mask of performance, or of some artifice or attitude. And they can be lovely. But the real artist shows their real face. They are pure emotion. I hope people realize how special it is to see this.
That reminded me a lot of The Empyrean, actually. The dynamics in your playing are, to me, really reminiscent of Before The Beginning, his Maggot Brain homage.
Sharp observation man. I listened to that album long time ago, before The Empyrean and never realized that. I'm listening to the song now and John's 'Before The Beginning' it's totally a hommage to Funkadelic's song. Thanks for the data!
I got my first electric guitar (squire ) last week and i have been waiting for my amplifier for past 7 days and today it finally came . Funny enough this is johns birthday and i got to play my first electric guitar on his birthday. Its kinda silly but Feels good :)
Silly? It's an awesome coincidence! I got the chills remembering that kind of feeling, I spent my teenage years in my room, playing John's stuff with my Squier and they were some of the happiest hours of my life... As they already told you, enjoy the journey 'cause it's amazing!
I watch this every once in a while and every time I do I can't believe how good this performance is, it gives me goosebumps. This shows how talented you are Dave.
Yeeees! and, in fact, this is a complex question, because, for John (as well as for me), Imagination is a universal concept, which crosses us all human beings, therefore all creation has a common kinship, in such a way way that our lives also have ... and it seems to be through art that we become aware of it ...
I see alot of good players on the internet, technich and knowing all the notes and where to find them but they miss the soul, they miss the creativity and thats why I think Dave is so inspiring,it has it all and on top of that is such a nice and onest person. Love you Dave. Hope to meet you one day.
I just had to come back to this. John is one of, if not my favourite guitarist. Your playing really does him justice. The raw emotion is amazing. I get the same vibes from this as from the Slane Castle gig. I used to listen to it a lot back when I did drugs. I’m sober nowadays but I still feel the way the music made me feel back then. I hope you’re doing well Dave!
Love the "Unreachable"/"Central" solo vibes going on throughout the whole thing on top of the "Bedroom lick" chords, terrific job!! Arrgh wish I could play like this...
Playing in someone else's style is one thing but making it your own so that creativity and feeling comes out of it is amazing! Love and respect Dave 🙏 Thanks!
I was waiting for this today. Dave paying tribute in such a tremendous manner in this awesome shirt. Its a great day. John Frusciante is a hero for a lot of people. God bless John.
Congratulations Dave, amazing! John is a huge source of inspiration, and you connected with him very well! You are also special. Thanks so much for sharing.
I can see the way you told John’s story and his entire trajectory. you were able to tell an entire biography through your strings and fingers. Dave, you are like John, a being of light and passion. My admiration for you matched my admiration for Frusciante. I hope to meet you two someday.
A real rollercoaster of emotions in this one! Played not only with talent but straight from the soul. You are a true musical genius Dave! I love this so much
I saw this just today, and I've got to say JF has to see this, he would really be proud to have a fan like that... you are not just a fan, you're his competitor! Enjoyed the hell out of this! Thanks for a great video as always, Dave!
I’ve never been impressed by guys that can play in key. Meaning, they know scales, they know notes, they can jam. And they know they can. They’re almost indifferent to the guitar, or act like it’s been conquered. They don’t love it. You can tell a huge difference when someone plays with feeling and soul and passion. They may not even be as knowledgeable or technically proficient. But they show their voice. It’s not boring.
Amazing Dave ! Forever man, living legend, tapping into the deeper and powerful energy in music and guitar for sure. Cheers man ! that's what its all about. Loved it
One day I hope to have a fraction of the talent you have. You are amazing and a true inspiration. I loved every single thing about this. Thank you so much for sharing!
How the hell does somebody so down to Earth and humble be this good. Thanks Dave, I don't know about John Frusciante, but you sure as hell made my day. Thanks buddy.
Good to see my hero wishing his hero a Happy Birthday. I didn't know I was the same age as John, inspiring to know RHCP is putting out a new album with him. I've found that when a person survives and realizes that they're in it for the long haul, they tend to take better care and do things with a bit more focused intensity
broooo...today i woke up and listened to this video ... my friend, i think john would be very surprised to hear you, what a talented guy !!!!!! It made my day better ... Music makes you live !!! keep the rock alive !!
Dave you have officially blown my mind more times than any other thing on the internet. The drop at 3:25 was unreal man. This honestly hits straight to my soul. Thanks mate, outstanding! :D
jeeeeeesus christ mate... You left me totally speachless. That must be one of the most awesome performance I've ever seen in youtube. An explosion of all kind of emotions at once! You got yourself a new fan 👏👏👏👏👏
I come to this work of art every week - just can't get over it ! thanks dave !!! I struggle using my wh10 but I will figure out how to use it properly soon !
Holy fucking shit Dave. I’m a little late but thank you so much for this. John will forever inspire the lot of us but you have just made tears come out of my eyes. Absolutely the best thing I’ve had the pleasure of listening to.
honestly if Dave was in a big band this would have been filmed live 1000x times and uploaded to youtube titled "best solo ever" or something like that. its that good
I don't think there's anyone else that's more at one with their instrument, and certainly none that give it everything like Dave, just ethereal and powerful on every level, cheers Mr Simpson
Dave when hes not playing is the mega polite guy, but i get the feeling hes got a lot of pain and rage inside, cant see how you can pour that much of your soul into something and not be feeling some kinda way deep down. music must have been a close friend growing up. awesome stuff man, youre one of the greats.
Spotted you first time a few days ago on YT. Mentioned that I heard John in my teen years for the first time, included almost a decade of hearing RHCP every day. Same time started with playing guitar for some years, then separated and started again at the beginning of 2021, plus music theory self study. If I had just seen you there at 2000, I had to think you and him.. I mean the same person in playing this 6string, the movement, holding this strat only on tremolo while fading the sound. This is f*****g awsome dude. +1 idol more for me. You got me. Regards from Germany.
