Since everyone else is sharing their Magia Record story... Making this video was like book ends for me. I became interested in Magia Record because of online magical girl transformation compilation videos. I was a day one player for the North American server-- I became really obsessed with the quotes the girls would say, so I started my first youtube channel and uploaded clips of what they were for anyone else who was curious. This grew into recording Magical Girl Stories, Events, and Log-in stories, but it was a slow process. When the NA EOS was announced, I dealt with my sadness by recording as much content as possible. I actually damaged my eyes by focusing on screens too much. I became acquainted with the Magia Union Translations server and started recording videos for Antimony and friends. Then a bunch of copyright claims started to go out, targeting the music used in the videos. At this point I started hosting and paying for a google drive to upload everything to just as a backup. We were able to get videos back up by filing disputes but we were all really nervous for a few months on what to do. Additionally, since a bunch of channels were now no longer hosting magia record recorded game content, I decided to make this second channel and host those too. And at the end of JP EOS, I've gone full circle. I started by being interested in this game because of the cool transformation video compilations, and now I've made one of my own. It's a weird sense of closure. I'm not a youtuber, I barely know what I'm doing with editing and I don't earn money off this channel lol. But I really loved this game. Thanks for reading :)
Thank you so much for your efforts! After they closed the NA servers it was hard to find much properly organized Magia record content in English, or translated and organized at all. Your channel and 29udon (who did translations for Scene 0) are lifesavers for Madoka Magica fanbase still interested in Magia record and the franchise as a whole. I can't thank you enough. If you don't mind me asking, will you continue to cover future content, like that upcoming Madoka Magica mobile game (Magia Exedra) when it comes out next month? I'd appreciate if you can. Hopefully if it's in Englisht/NA I'll play but it would be really great if it was also recorded as well.
@@KA-lj3wr Also want to give a shoutout to the Magia Union Translations channel! I got to help make it and set it up. The folks at MUT do so much, they definitely kept my love for this game alive. Sadly, I won't be covering future content here. My lack of impulse control and gacha games are not a good mixture, so I've decided not to play the next game-- or at least if I do, I don't want to put myself in a position where I feel like I need to get every character for archival purposes. I'm sure that there will be dedicated folks who step up to the plate to do so though!

I really am going to miss Magia Record, because for how much Madoka Magica is such an inspiration to me. The only regret I really have was discovering this game after the American Server shut down.
Ive only played the game once but that was because my phone storage is non existent and I got into Magia Record and all things Madoka Magica because of those transformation videos. Like no joke I could not stop watching them during the pandemic, and if it wasn’t for videos like these I wouldn’t be such a huge nerd about Madoka Magica and I wouldn’t have an ongoing manga collection of the series-
Man. I remember when I saw that Magia Record was coming to America. My mum and I were so happy when it finally released. (I had watched Madoka with my mum and she LOVED it). I remember saving all of my gems for Tart for when she finally was released State side. I had a good amount saved up, but I NEVER GOT her. I forget why, but I had spent my gems on something and RIGHT after I did, Tart released. I was so frustrated with myself. Mum and I had a decent enough laugh over the poor timing on my part... And then, here comes my mum, casually coming over to me "So I got the girl you wanted..." Needless to say. I was a LITTLE bitter. XD My mother later got Godoka as well. Needless to say, she had all the luck We were both so upset when we heard the game was ending in America, we were both so upset. And right when we learned about Little Kyubey having a drop in Japan. I was so excited to grab the little guy. But, ah well. I would show her some of the new characters that would drop, and she ended up not liking where some of the transformations went with how...*cough* Fan servicey it got. But she also had expected that from the start anyway. I was showing her one of the newer characters when I found out the Japanese servers were ending. Like...wow. We didn't expect that. My mother and I haven't found a game that peaked our interest and KEPT it quite like Magia Record did. The closest for me was Pokemon Masters EX, but even that didn't keep my attention like this did.

Something this game was great at was distinctive and strong characters. And for the most part, every single transformation portrays at least one notable characteristic and style. They’re all memorable, and every single one is at least one person’s favorite. It’s a wonderful achievement, and I’m glad to have been able to enjoy it during the game’s lifetime.
5:07 I would like to think that this claw machine is based of all of the witches Madokami could’ve chosen but she decided to choose Nagisa (ignoring the banner in the bg 😭)
Magia Record was the reason I discovered Madoka Magica and how it became one of my most favorite things and it also inspired my ocs so if it didn’t exist I wouldn’t have been able to create them
Magia Record what a journey... this was the first game i was so serious about playing, I joined the EN server and when it shut down I migrated so fast to jp because i was that in love with the characters and story... I read so much lore, i was so deeply invested in the community, it brought me so much joy and now its all coming to an end... I hope we'll get to see all these wonderful characters once more in the new game... Iroha and co you will all always have a special place in my heart
Their writers apparently didn't want to add to the storylines and I can understand that since magia record ran out of budget really fast so it would have only been a passion project and everyone needs to pay their bills right?
Wow what a journey. I remember hearing about the game's existence around it's launch, but my phone at the time was too shitty to even play it. I then got a better phone and got the game around the second tart event and I have not abandoned it since. Magireco was a really special game and I'll miss it dearly once it shuts down. See you in magia exedra :') Edit: the summer alts have some banger music, especially the Amane sisters. And after all these years, my favorite transformation remains og madoka
I’m gonna miss this game so much! I stopped playing as often in recent years especially after NA shut down but watching this is giving me so many memories, it makes me happy that the fandom is still here cherishing every bit of content we have

Thank you so much for this! Even with the dip in quality with some of the more recent ones, the transformations are such a big part of what’s made this game so special. Though it’s pretty uncertain if Magia Exedra will have transformations too or not, I’m really hoping that it will.
Really shows the Holy Quintet favoritism. They sure received more detailed transformations. The poor side cast, mostly arc 1, got such the short end. I think the Magia Report April fools ones are my favorite set.
Yeah, seems like they didnt really care about the transformations during the earlier arcs, but they outdid themselves during the later arcs and updates.
This is game is amazing, even if EN got shut down after a couple years . Hoping Magia Exedra can exceed MagiReco. Also Yuna is my personal fav transformation
I never got to play Magia Record because it never released in Europe, but I loved checking out each new transformation as they were revealed. It's sad to hear the game will shut down entirely, the loss of NA was already bad, but now...
I only got into magireco about half a year ago. Im sad that its shutting down, but im glad ill be able to catch up on all the content some time, thanks to all your archiving!
If only Momoko anime version and ToukaNemuUi are actually unit 😢 What a waste opportunity. They already have transformations but decided not to do something with it
I've watched the Puella Magi Madoka Magika anime tv shows and movie. (Havent had a chance to finish the spin-off tv show yet nor have I played the game. ) The fact that you committed a lot of time to record Magia Record game transformations shows great dedication and passion. Wonderful work!
That's a great question. Haregi Sayaka's is so PRETTY. Swimsuit Mami's is excellent and I love it. Yuna's is super creative and horrifying?? Along with Vampire Kanagi's. I think though that I have to go with Nayuta; the music is great and it just feels fun and creative. Thanks for asking! What about you?
@@muffinrecord2 Oh my god, Nayuta's music definitely the best BGM from a transformation sequence! In my case, I always loved Monogatari Girls, they really did a great job capturing their essence. I also love Dark Mitama, Yozuru (because that's MOTHER), RenRika and Amane Sisters Swimsuit (because the song slaps too). It's a shame we never got Kagari Hinata tho...

I plan on doing a big compilation for both Magia and Doppels! It's just going to take a little more time than the transformation video. I need to figure out what I'll do for music and what not. Those two videos will probably go up in July.
Thank you so much for posting them! Man, this game brings me back memories. I remembered I used to watch the transformation videos on youtube few years back. I was so excited for when it was released in NA. I was struggling with mental health, school, and home life. This game helped me cope with it. Especially the characters and stories with it. I’m happy there’s people out there that also enjoyed the game. ❤️
It sucks that the game is shutting down. Its for reasons like this that i think keeping ROMS on the internet archive is necessary despite it technically being piracy. Having all this hard work unable to be experienced in the future feels like we're burning books or something. I loved the magireco girls and the timeline where Walpurgisnacht was beaten by a team effort. This is also technically the only property that had Nagisa's storyline. I hope one day all these assets can be reused in a new memorial project after Walpurgisnacht Rising
I'm really going to miss Magia Record, it's been a part of my life for so long. I'm hoping we manage to get Mabayu and a lot of the Magia Record units in the new game, but it's going to be bittersweet for those that definitely won't make the cut :(. Especially the crossover and manga girls, I'm really going to miss Chisato and Takina, they felt like a really well executed pair and really quickly became a core part of my team, knowing we won't ever see them again (outside of their own anime of course) is really disheartening. Hopefully this time we'll wait significantly less long for Matsuri lol

It's the most likely possibility imo given the way their kit is built. Though I wouldn't have been surprised if we would've gotten them and a premium Mabayu alt like Historia Yachiyo and Devil Homura tbh

Ah.. now bring back memories huh, hmm Magia Record is the only thing that holding me during Covid-19 and my father died at that time (September2020) I became way more lazy and addicted to phone, all of them shattered into pieces. Magia Record, Wake Up, Girls!, Spy x Family is the only thing that keeping me sane back then. Oh, around 2020-2022 i make gacha content inspired by making content. There's not much to say bcs i'm tired So thank you Magia Record, it was a regret i uninstal it and can't play it until NA shut down. It was a bittersweet journey...
I feel like the order of some of these could be tweaked a little. The alts for certain individual characters feel out of order, but I'm not sure how to fix it, because any change I could suggest would just cause additional problems.
That's a fair critique, but I'm going to be honest and say that I don't plan on remaking this haha. All of the transformation videos are up on my google drive (should be found on my youtube's links?) and you are free to download 'em and make your own version of this video if you wish.
I never got to play Magia Record, but I do hope that Exedra (which I'm pretty excited for since Madoka Magica is my favorite anime) will include the Magia Record story so that I can experience it in full as awell. Since I have only watched the anime adaptation of it, which was unfortunately bad. Also hope that the new game will also have beautiful animations such as these, and that it will remove the region lock that I have seen a lot of people be annoyed by. Which is understandable
Man I wish I had gotten to play the game longer. I was really late to the party, started playing about 3 or 4 months before the NA server shut down. I was fuming when it happened lol. Kinda started slowly forgetting about the game until I saw this video in my reccomended. Pretty sad to hear that the game’s shutting down completely now.
Ahh no. I made a community post on it but I probably won't play Magia Exedra-- or if I do, I won't do archival work for it. I am someone who didn't jump onto the Magia Record game (mainly cause I heard about it before the american servers were up but didn't hear of it again while they were) and thus my only understanding of this game is the transformation sequences ordered by rarity rather than plot importance. I have, however, seen the anime, and I never fully understood why people think its bad. I now sorta understand, because I'm not even 10 minutes into this video and every single important character has shown up, and they are listed as being just the main characters of Act 1??? So was the anime just a single arc of the game?
Yes. The anime is just a single arc of the game but it is quite complicated. Season 1 is fairly the same in the game except for Kuroe, And some of the Uwasa. S2 and S3 are all Anime Original. Which quite ruins some characters screentime. Sakurako, kanagi Izumi, and UI. The anime goes from more "Darker" Ending while the Game focuses more on Hope and a happy ending.

I apologize that it's not good quality for you though :( The transformation videos are datamined and not recorded off the game, so they should be in the best quality they can be... Not sure if it's an issue with youtube or the length? Maybe my editing fucked it up somehow? Anyways, sorry again.
