This is a story about a girl's forgotten wish.
The hit mobile game, Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story, comes to fans as a brand new TV anime January 2020!
Fans attending Anime NYC 2019 will be treated to a special advance screening of the first two episodes of the Magia Record TV anime followed by a talk show with Aoi Yuki (Voice of Madoka Kaname) and President of SHAFT and Animation Producer, Mitsutoshi Kubota!
STORY:
In exchange for the fulfillment of a wish, Magical Girls keep fighting, unbeknownst to the rest of the world.
But Iroha Tamaki can't seem to remember her wish.
“When I became a Magical Girl, what did I wish for again?”
There is a gaping hole in her life.
Something important has been lost.
But she continues to fight every day, without even knowing why…
Then, a rumor begins to spread among Magical Girls.
“Magical Girls can be saved if they go to Kamihama.”
Kamihama City, the city where Magical Girls and Uwasa are gathering.
The story of Iroha Tamaki, in search for her lost wish, begins…

@@JayboCorp.2014 Because they /only/ had the first two episodes finished. And part of the third which they showed a trailer for. SHAFT is very well known for pushing their deadlines. The anime is still being worked on.

There’s a person in the comments section who has the username Every Man 1991. And he rants about how rebellion is trash and SHAFT is criminal so we should threat them and boycott SHAFT. Just ignore him, his previous username was Phil Hutchinson and he already got banned once but that doesn’t seem to stop him. So the best way to deal with this person is to just ignore them.

Actually, compared to the other Madoka works, Magia Record is supremely lighthearted. Don't get me wrong, the depressing psychological issues and themes all the Magical Girls carry around are still entirely present, as is PMMM staple, but Magia Record actually focuses on characters confronting those issues, dealing with them , and moving forward. The characters still hold their trauma, but by the end of it all they're definitely healing. It probably helps that, for reasons I shan't spoil, Magical Girls that hang around Kamihama City are LITERALLY incapable of witching-out. The typical Despair Event Horizons are actually somewhat helpful this time around, rather than instantly fatal. As for your second point, YES, the series' inherent Les Yay is still ABUNDANTLY present, and has in fact grown EXPONENTIALLY due to the far larger cast.

If it helps peak your interest, I have one small thing to spoil. It completely changed my mind for the better, and I hope it'll change yours! The capitalistic system that determines wish power based on Karmic Destiny isn't the full story. When extremely small, wishes are still powerful. Iroha has extremely small KD, to the point that this is literally the only timeline where she is an MG. This only became possible when, of all things, her foot struck a pebble on the way home, with Homura having something to do with this but being unknown as to what it is or the extent. Also, this is NOT a spin-off, it's still very much connected to the events that happened in the show and Rebellion, as evidenced by Goddess Madoka existing. Arc 2 will be a true continuation, being absolutely unexplored, so think of the current Arc as an origin story until then. That'll be all.

Where in the case of Madoka's godly wish, timelines converging is exponential and created infinite KD, or at least enough KD to make the fate line do a 180. Only fate lines that can do a 180 can change the universe. Keep in mind that some of this is personal theory however.

Welp I can't wait for this anime to come out! Hopefully it's longer than 12 episodes. We'll just have to see for ourselves. (Yes, all girls from the original Madoka series will be in this spinoff).

Compared to Puella Magi Madoka Magica's trailer, which IMO is COMPLETELY innocent (until 1 second when Urobuchi's name popped out), this one is quite "honest", as there are bits of dark and sad moment shown. Then again, given how famous Madoka Magica is, guess it will be useless to try making another perfectly misleading trailer. Anyway, I'm looking forward to this!

@@haru.4267 I don't think it'll happen either, but we don't know, there's a Taiwan version after all. Here's a very good link: www.reddit.com/r/magiarecord/wiki/installation-na I recommend the first method, though be careful; you HAVE to turn off the VPN BEFORE launching the game and creating your account, but after installing the game. You can uninstall the VPN right after with no problems. If it doesn't work try another VPN
