I’m 52 hoping to end the rat race by 60 with above $1M. I know money is a liability to be exchanged for assets with real value like real estate (properties for rent) stocks (dividends) bonds (interest) But, what is it with bitcoin? I hear a lot about it and I'd love to diversify my portfolio.

The big 4 indicators outside the 2-10 bonds indicator for global macro are corn, copper, coffee, and Kospi. Corn is bearish, copper is bearish, coffee is bullish, and Kospi is slightly bullish but neutral. If Kospi joins, then we are there, the recession is being priced in on consumption. As a hypercasual, off-and-on-again consumer: In 2021 I was excited to hear a couple spooky sets were coming near Halloween time. Then I realized 'oh it's just werewolves, vampires, and some renaissance festival employees' and immediately lost all interest. In 2024 I heard a spooky set was coming near Halloween time. The 80's nostalgia was already beaten to death long before Stranger Things (and feels exceptionally unlike MtG), but even I'm happy to admit the other half of the set is actually horror-themed this time. All of which to say, I don't think Duskmourn has to rely on the same crowd as MH/CV.

There's no way in hell that Rudy is a serious, seasoned investor in Lego products. I know because I am. Clues: He has 3 of the Lion Night Castle on the right. That set's retirement date has yet to be determined. If he knew what he was doing, he would be dumping that $400 per set into the Star Wars: Mos Eisley Cantina and/or $850 into the UCS AT-AT. The only set in the video that's retiring this year and appears to be a solid investment is the Sanctum Sanctorum. And that's not because it's a Marvel set, it's because historically, modular buildings have done very well, as long as it wasn't on the market for more than 4 years. Adding IP and exclusive minifigs will help that value grow even faster. I don't know shit about TCG's outside of Pokemon. I'm here to learn about them. I'm starting to wonder if this is the right place for that. And to answer the question; The retired set is the Red Beard Runner (6289) that retired over 25 years ago. The last comparable comp from eBay was in early July and sold for $615 w/ free shipping. The re-released the same ship (6290) not long after (6289) retired. The latest comp for that one sold for $650. I didn't think those ships sold for over $1K. In fact, they've come down since the last time I checked. I'm just gonna start calling Rudy, Timmy. FFS. What TCG series/set should we be getting as a collector these days?? I want value and appreciation

I am pretty new to the channel. I am not a Magic player but have still enjoyed listening to a few of the videos as it gives a sense of the total market and collectibles as a whole. I am currently a Lorcana player. It has been one of the first games in a while that I have enjoyed this much...that being said, I do lean toward being mindful of the secondary market and such. I heard what you said about Ravensburger with Lorcana, but I am just curious, what are they doing that is so foolish? Is it from the reprints?

When you say "collectors" you definitely aren't talking about comics, except for the Golden Age, because everything after the 1950s has been crushed. Mostly that's due to the MCU tanking, due to very poor decisions in pushing DEI, and the DCU imploding, but the crash after the 2021-22 Boom has been cataclysmic. Fortunately my shop has been fine because we do specialize in high grade vintage comics that are pretty much immune, but almost everything that was published after 1980 has dropped in value 50-80%. Modern key comics, especially incentive variants, are the worst hit, with some plunging 90%, if you can even sell them at that discount. I'm telling everyone to sit on them, many are worth a long-term hold, but most were crap with artificial scarcity when they came out and they're never going back to where they were. Sellers stuck with those? Ouch. 😬

it's the 1996 Red Beard Runner. Specifically NOT the reissue done in 2001. Goes for about $700-800 sealed. Also there's 3 copies of the 2022 Lion Knight's Castle. About over $300 sealed. So yeah, you could invest in retro lego or just deal in the crazy huge sets lego keeps pumping out every year because they're roughly equivalent in value anyway. You'd probably make even a little more flipping recent sets like most sellers do because there's both robust supply and demand.

every year 10+ new good products appear on the market, every 10 year that are 100+ Games like Metapoo and fab / transformers dont make it in the end but it is fun to play open or tryout you dont need capital gains from them its just a game. Look at video games people buyem or buy item mal stuff spend thousands of dollars and then go play another game and loose all their money! why? because it was fun but they found something new that provides more fun and thats it!

I went cash last week in my short term portfolio. Yen took us to low and we bounced back to hard. There is a middle ground while we wait for month or 2 and see what the data has to tell us. I see the collectors market just going sideways. No lows, No highs, just sideways. That is not a bad thing either. Lower print runs will cause scarcity in high demand products. Everything else should be enough to meet demand, maybe a dump of stores not funded properly.

i knew it was pirate ship because as a child back in the early 90s that was the dream set, i had all the pirate/british empire sets and i always wanted the big pirate ship for my collection. i had the smaller hulled cutter. idk if my pricing is correct but i think it was around $90-$100 back when i wanted it. always felt just out of reach

Thinking in percents isn't suitable for smooth brains like rudy. Noise is actually awful and means it's going to 0. Say something is worth 100 and keeps going up and down 5%. Either it goes up to 105 and down to 99.75 or down to 95 then up to 99.75 and you are worse off than when you started. The higher the percentage swings, the faster it's going to 0. Negative percentages are way worse than gainss from comparable percentages. A 50% loss needs 100% gains to break even.

Lego pirate ship 6285 I have one sealed. True story - mum and dad purchased for me in 5th grade to bribe me into good grades…they gave up and I received on my 30th. moral of story is that school sux buy cardboard, eat tacos and Lego is a meh investment. i was a bit disappointed when I saw the value but still very grateful!

What's really sad is that ravensberger is a fantastic puzzle company and put on tons of competitions and are the puzzle company for the speed puzzle world championship. I don't think they need to put too many eggs in the card basket. It's not worth it
