These are all great passes but I always thought he was the BEST bounce passer ever. I recall one he one-skipped from almost 3/4 court on a fast break, right into the hands of the other player (can’t recall who) who got an easy layup. Just incredible!
I remember he had one to Byron Scott, another time to Worthy, and he hit Coop on one, which he immediately gave it up to Kareem for the slam. Watching the Showtime Lakers was like watching the Globetrotters play against the NBA. It was fantastic. Caused the Lakers to be immensely popular out of market.
I remember a 60 foot softball pass right on the money. I forget who was the recipient but that pass was insane. Only with Magic's hand size and strength can that his its target while on a line!
Forever Magic Johnson fan here , he's really the greatest point guard, great in assist & love watching him play. A real leader & made all his teammates part of the team by letting everyone score in every game. A happy & a good guy. I'm lucky to watched his games during his era.No one as of today an NBA player can do what Magic did in his era of playing basketball.
To see MAGIC standing next to a normal height male it's crazy to believe the way he plays. When it's show time your eyes will be 👀. The whole team was 🏆
Greatest point guard passer - Magic. Greatest small forward passer - Bird. And, they played at the same time. I feel sorry for those that did not get to watch the NBA 80s live. Highlight films just do not do justices to what those two did for the NBA.
And now we’ve got the greatest center passer in Jokic. Definitely not the same, but it’s still amazing to watch someone make passes like Magic and Bird did
More than ANY other player in history, he did 2 things; 1 He pushed the game forward to a new level by applying constant pressure on the defense 2 He made all of his teammates better Probably the most impactful and revolutionary player ever
@@veptize4805 Yeah because GOAT Kareem retired in 1989. Cooper retired in 1990. Lakers had some young players in 90-91, and some older guys. Weren't the same showtime Lakers as from 1980-1988, early 90s was a different era for the Lakers/Celtics as they were aging. Only great team the Bulls dismantled was the young and healthy Pistons, they were coming off of 2 championship years. 90s Bulls skated past the Sonics, Knicks, Suns, Jazz, Blazers ...they were no match for the 80s Lakers or Celtics.
Most of what u clowns call great passing is just hot dogging..he never seen an easy pass he wouldn't nearly screw up Not to mention throwing the ball out of bounds and dribbling the clock out.. you think Bird would ever do something so dumb? Bird was a better passer than Magic, his basketball IQ the highest of any player in history..but Magic: honestly on reflection Jerry West was much better, so was Oscar, and arguably Walt Frasier
