I don’t think I have ever commented on anyone’s video before but you deserve this.THANK YOU!! My spacebar was sticking down and not popping back up like it should have. I had no issues following the steps you showed in the video to fix my spacebar and it works like a charm even after putting it back together.
My kids spilled apple juice on mine and I was having the same issue. Took it to apple and they said they can't fix that and would just need to buy a new one. I had seriously given up on they keyboard and figured was out that $$. This was a perfect tutorial. Thanks!
Ben-I did it! My keyboard is working non-stick. The shift key is a bit sluggish, but not ‘stuck’ like it was. I am so glad you posted your video. I’m thanking the Lord for you!!!!! ❤
Thanks bro'! You really made my day by figuring this out. My spacebar was kind of sticky, after taking it out using your video, it works as new. Brilliant!
Thank you so much for this!! Spilled my tea on my magic keyboard and they all dried up under the keys! Was able to clean them and now feels like new. (That spacebar was really challenging! It’s the only one that doesn’t feel like it used to be 😢 Lol!)
Thanks! I spilled Marmalade on my keyboard, and a few keys stuck really bad, particularly in cold weather. I followed your video and Cleaned keys, and put them back, and keyboard is working like new. 😊
Great tutorial. For now, mechanics are working fine - I might have caught my spill “in time”. Great to know there’s a way to do this without dropping big $$ that I don’t have.
Thank you verry much, I did it on my L keycaps and it doesn’t stick anymore. I was quite sceptical when putting it back but I just took my time and it went right. Thanks again.
If any of yall tryna fix your keyboard, trust me this works I just did it and I'm so glad I did, siblings spilled carbonated juice or wtv idk basically carbonated and I did the same thing and it worked. Bs the only thing about it is the spacebar cause for me it doesn't feel right but it actually works when it comes to cleaning the key out. Overall would recommend. (Be light with the keys and make sure not to put too much pressure onto them)
Extremely helpful. I spilled pho on mine and the caps lock and tab and shift are a little sticky but work. Can’t wait to find something to try and carefully pry it open. Thanks again
I tried cleaning some at first I thought I wanted but thank you for explaining how to put it back I got it to pop out and now I can type it again it’s not as good as it used to be but it’s close but you can feel a little resistance
Hey I wonder can you fix sticky keys without taking the key out? My spac3 bar is sticky but I couldn't took it out bc I am pretty scared that it gonna broke.
Thanks for the video. I needed this clean my “shift” key which has become hard to press. I have that tool but I never actually used it for my face so I’ll use it for the Magic Keyboard. Imma add one more tip I learned from another video which is using q-tips in order to clean the keyboard. Never use your bare hand to clean them so you rather use q-tips which can be softer. Also, if you’re afraid of using regular water to clean your keyboard, you should use distilled water which I recommend ❤ Goodluck ❤
I took off about 5 keys to clean behind and all of them went back on just fine, except one that will no longer pop up. It still works, but won’t pop up. Nothing broke off and I was very gentle. Any suggestions?
Came off ok but wont go back together. There is not audible click after sliding key upwards therefore bottom half of key in now loose and the key keeps falling off. Any suggestions as ive spent hours on this.
sounds like you were too strong and broke the tiny white pins i point out at one point in the video that hold the key mech down. if thats the case i would look to see if you can purchase that individual part and replace it
I just bought the new m2 iPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard however my option key (right side) is loose and i cant fix it and its triggering me could anyone help?
@@Pentanon1 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ClENhLI3D58.html This one might help with the space bar replacement. It may help to avoid damage. Notice the guitar pick that he uses in order to pull up the space bar. Also, I believe prying on the very edge of the space bar may also help to avoid damaging the “hooks.
