Further to what Ryan said about Siya's 'slight' overfold... During the world cup Siya Kolisi was awarded turnovers by the commentators that other players had won, on screen... meanwhile he lost the breakdown battle to Ireland, France and England successively and each game it was up to Smith and Fourie to come on and rescue the Bok breakdown effort that Siya had just lost in the 1st half. By the time the final came around, all talk of the intriguing, upcoming 'breakdown battle' was officially Verboten in the media and Not To Be Discussed, off the table completely - because Siya was at once.. the greatest flanker in the game's history AND also, a weak link who was dragging his entire team down. Talk about paradoxes, eh?
So, tell us what you really think? Kolisi never was a fetcher. He might not be the best player in his position, but he's an inspirational leader. But who am I kidding? You already made your mind up about him. In general he had a great game for Racing, but you're looking at the one mistake.
@@chrismouton1985 you say he isn't a fetcher .. but the 6 shirt is the fetcher shirt for both ZA and France, so what is he then? he'a a grafting blind side.who tackles + clears rucks.. but ZA already HAS a much better grafting blind side in PSdT .. whilst the best fetcher in the game, Kwagga Smith, is kept on the bench by Kolisi because... leadership, ...talisman, motivation- meaningless empty words basically.. Fetcher Carrier Grafter - Jelonch Aldritt Ollivon - VdF Doris O'Mahony - Back Dallaglio Hill - McCaw So'oialo Collins and poor old ZA had to convert Marx into a fetcher to make up for Kolisi, Marx got injured and so ZA have to take off their carrier and bring on Smith early when Kolisi is playing particularly badly each 1st half. Its the Emperors New Clothes - Siya Kolisi was not worth his place in the team. And the media around him is all just propaganda.
@@TGDarwell Talk to people around the ZA team and they will tell you what Schalk Brits, Faf de Klerk, Big Jim and Goodey have all admitted previously on camera.. Kolisi doesn't lead - at all - either on the pitch or off the pitch. The main leaders for the Bokke were Vermeulen and now Etzebeth who were both robbed of the Bok captaincy in their careers by Kolisi who shouldn't have even been in the team. Theres a group of 4 or 5 on the pitch at any one time always yapping and making decisions. Watch Kolisi when he gets asked a Q by the Ref, all the voices chirp in and Kolisi says "oh okay.. we'll do this then" its actually an exercise in humiliation as he isn't up to the role at all. Off the pitch they had to take Schalk Brits to the 2019 WC to provide off field leadership that was missing and in 2023 they were using 'traffic lights' to make decisions for him from the dug out.. what other team has to signal their captain from the coaches box? And look what the media did with that.. He's too controlling with his players! He doesn't trust his players! "Players"? His captain. He was making decisions for his supposed captain, whose judgement he clearly didn't trust. Imagine your Sir Clive controlling Martin Johnson using traffic lights from the stands lol :) Kolisi's only good for press conferences and even then his very simple statements get lionised by the media far more than they actually deserve... Sad Times.
