not a fan of that sponsoring. ive followed the elestrals tcg for some time before it came out to after its release and unfortunatly the people behind it / atleast the guy seen in the sponsor part have messed up quite a lot and most importantly been dicks to their supporters hence why so many ppl left the game. theres quite a lot of evidence out there proving it and its not difficult to find. hope you didnt hurt yourself with this one cimo.
You know what, I think I figured it out. I think the reason I keep thinking DAD was banned is because it made so many people quit the game (myself included), so I just assumed they banned it out of principle. Evidently that wasn't the case, my bad! 🤣🤣🤣

Unpopular opinion here, Imperial Orders errata was a good errata. Like sure, it was still broken, and in the end it still needed to be banned. But it kept the spirit of the card without ruining the legacy of the card. I would rather have 100 Imperil order "Not harsh enough" Errata's than a single CED errata again.
I think if they errata'd it to say "Banish this card, for the rest of this turn spells and effects are negated." So it would still "technically" be a continuous trap but also would banish for effect, so you can still stop it by chaining a pop like before. It's not searchable by thrust or copyable by rollback. (Need exactly foolish burial goods and link 4 knightmare gryphon or to hard draw it.) At that point, it's essentially Kali yuga but spells only and counterable, making it different from anti-spell fragrance.
No, Alex. Konami DIDN'T ban Imperial Order quickly after bringing it back. It stayed legal for so many years that people started speculating that the reason they didn't ban it back was because that would be an admission of incompetence from Konami after thinking they "fixed it" with the errata 😂
Sinister serpent is one for one the magic card "Squee, goblin nabob". It's a key component of a vintage deck called squeevine or hollowvine, where it is indeed used as recurring discard fodder.
There are enough powerful costs that it can do some damage, and it generally leaves a huge design hole for any design involving reptiles, level 1's, waters, etc.
Eh, +3 isn't really worth much if it's bad cards. Like spellbook of judgement can draw you 7 cards and it's not played since you need to play a bad deck. Ojamas also can get you a lot of cards and no one plays it
Start him off with classic yugioh, and hold off on having him play anything beyond the GX era until after the videos that introduce him to other extra deck types. Actually, before getting him to play, introduce him to rituals.
How to make Sixth Sense balanced if reprinted. Declare 2 numbers between 1 and 6. Roll a dice. If you called them right, draw 2 cards. if you called them wrong, banish 6 cards from the top of your deck face down.
That sounds very unplayable and also completely different to the point of the card in the first place. The real way to do it is to add the runick drawback of skipping your next battle phase for activating the card alongside something about not being able to activate cards or effects with the same original name as the ones milled or drawn by the effect of sixth sense until the end of _your_ next turn after activation (cards drawn by this effect must be revealed). At this point, even a pontential (but unlikely) draw 5 is being restricted strongly enough to make it considerably stunted or balanced.

@@MegaMetal96 People actually didn't complain that much about it for a while. It was unbanned in 2017 but most people were okay with it existing until around 2021 I guess. That's when the massive uproar really started and then they banned it in 2022.

48:56 I played in this format in a local hobby store and someone had a full DAD Crush card Deck, They used it against my not very good deck. I was like, I read the card, and it basically said you lose. They also acted like a jerk and bragged that they won with it as well.
MTG has Squee Goblin Nabob and the Immortal. The fisrt return to your hand during the Upkeep if its in your GY and the second you can alway play from the GY or Exile. I think that is very close to Sinister serpent, specially Goblin Nabob
can it happen indefinite amount of times, 1 of the things that wasnt mentioned unless I didnt catch it is that sinister serpent can return an unlimited amount of times even within the same standby phase if it somehow finds itself there again no matter how many times it returned to the hand, this effectively gave it infinite loop potential if any players managed to find any sort of combo or synergy that can take advantage of this aspect so konami just nuked this potential in the bud on errata

Something I love about CGB is that he’s clearly trying to learn the game. LSV has good card analysis because he’s been a top player forever, but he’s still basically shooting from the hip all the time. Rarran, somehow having actually played YGO seems to instantly forget everything between videos. On the other hand, CGB is taking notes, asking pertinent questions about what sorts of things are good or bad in the game, and brings up lessons from previous videos. The end goal imo isn’t to laugh at a newbie for not knowing cards, but to see someone’s understanding of the game grow, and CGB feels like the only one to take the assignment seriously. Please keep having him on!

Graceful was banned for the first 2 banned lists, came back during goat format, and then was banned along with pot of greed- for the first time - after goat
Graceful can be argued to be stronger than Pog because the card quality you get out of it is higher than pot of greed. it is a similar situation with pot of prosperity vs pot of extravagance, even decks that were already playing extravagance ended up switching to prosp because it filtered your draws way more efficiently.

Crush Card was broken in 2008, I played a lot in that format, remember like it was yesterday. it was limited to 1, and pros tributed sangan, or apprentice magician, or its target: old vindictive, and CCV meant u lost the game pretty much... treeborn monarch was the meta at the time, but everybody ran it, even burn decks, tributing stealth bird. - I am inspired by the OG effect of CCV from this video, might build my next, 129th deck about it soon! (Doom Virus Dragon) In my 2016 casual format it still would be powerful! :) Great video btw!

Fun Fact: the idea that Pot of Greed was banned first and Graceful Charity was banned later seems to be a mandela effect, because it's not true at all. The very first TCG ban list in Oct 2004, Graceful Charity was banned, and Pot of Greed remained legal. In April of 2005 Graceful Charity was unbanned and both cards were legal again until October 2005 when both were banned, and have remained banned ever since. There has never been a time in the TCG where Graceful Charity was legal and Pot of Greed was not.

In my own head's lore Sinister Serpent becomes Thunder Dragon who by the time it reaches lv5 has grown to gain an effect to discard itself due to being discarded for cost/effect so many times as a small serpent.
