I'm very glad to hear that this brought relief from your terrible itching. I get the most horrendous stitching on the bottom of my feet and the bottom of my hands. I have used the strongest percentage of cortisone cream that I could get my hands on and the only thing that brings me any relief is to use ice packs it's that bad. Looking forward to giving this a try. And of course Luke as well. He is still itching away fortunately I would have to say on a scale of 1 to 10 his itching is probably at 2 if I ask him to stop he stops. I also find if I put him in his house he's much more comfortable in there. Otherwise he will just wander around and that seems to make is itchiness worse. If he goes into his house he'll fall asleep.

LOVE Licorice root, never thought to use it on my skin. THANK YOU💖😘 Best thing for cough and throat problems. Did you change laundry soap, fabric softener? Did these co find a cheaper ingerdent to save them $ call and ask, we don't ask they don't tell. I called Dawn dish soap and ask if there was something I could put in water to protect my skin they said no wear gloves. Sometimes your skin just can't tolerate the chemicals in our favorite tolietres or they change formulas. That is why I am finding ways to make my own and on the whole they are far sapperior , safer and cheaper.

Late summer I get these itchy red spots on my arms or legs. Last year I started using coconut oil (by itself) and it worked wonders. Stopped the itching within a few minutes, within an hour no itching and the red spots gone in a couple of days. What's nice is that the coconut oil is absorbed by the skin so that your clothes don't wipe it off. Used it on a hot spot on my dog (a Lab) and although she licked some of it off, it still worked. I'll get licorice root and I have melaleuca (tea tree oil) already, so the next time I make it, I'll add a few drops of both.

For me when I had poison oak/ivy and for red bugs and heat rash, I used coconut oil mixed with melaleuca (tea tree) oil. It cleared up in less than a week. I applied twice per day. Also I clean my dogs' ears with coconut oil mixed with tea tree oil. I read the melaleuca wellness guide. It has multiple remedies for pets and humans from research in it. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you so much for all of your help. My beautiful Lucy has red irritated skin and has for about 6 years none of the steroids really worked. She would get so bad she'd pull her hair out. I have done several of your remedies and I rinse her with 2 T borax, 2 cups of peroxide and 4 cups of warm water. She has hair on her back and tail for the first time in 5 years. However the itching never goes away completely. I am going to try this remedy. My goal us to get her out of come. Thanks again.

Love this! But a question please! Regarding Licorice root - it’s sometimes very harmful to people if they take too much- so how safe is it my my JRT about 15 lbs to lick a lot of it? Also I use tea tree oil and think it’s amazing but heard of harming a dog if they inhale the fumes. I trust what you recommend I just had these concerns. Thank you -Lee

Your videos are very helpful and informative. Your "plain speaking" is sorely missed in this day and age of "wokeness", especially for a country girl who was raised with a lot of these types of remedies. You couldn't just run to the vet for every tiny problem. Especially if there was only 1 or 2 vets covering 1-2 or 3 counties, and who also assisted at the morgue. My question is, a lot of your remedies are per 10-20 pounds. What should I do when my dog is less than 10 pounds? She's a Teacup Chihuahua. Additionally, at what age should you start your dog, (or cat), on the supplements? I'm also with a lot of your other subscribers. We need more cat videos please. Thanks a lot Doc. You're great!

Same thing here for me, only on the waistline area in back. Itched like crazy. I thought maybe yeast infection from heat buildup because of the back wedge cushion I use behind me in the computer chair. Tried clotrimazole cream and it cleared up. Fast forward about three weeks......the weather has been very hot and very humid lately and the rash has come back a tiny bit at the back waistline area and a little on the backs of the thighs.....right where the heat can build up from sitting at the computer. Clotrimazole is helping again, the rash is nearly gone. We were given an Alaskan Malamute dog many years ago that had bare skin under her collar and the vet diagnosed it as mange.....I forget which type. The vet sold us medication to dip her and our other dogs in and he cautioned us that we could get it, too, from treating them. He said it would appear as a rash in areas such as where a shirt collar would be, or a belt. He said we would notice it most after a warm shower, etc. He was right, my husband and I both got it. I went to the doctor and he almost didn't believe me when I told him what the vet had cautioned us so he looked in a big book and gave me a prescription for both of us. The itchy rash was soon gone. By the way, the medication we bought from the vet was liquid to be mixed with water and worked into the fur. The bottle we bought wasn't enough to clear them all up, still some itching, so I bought more of the exact thing from a veterinary catalog, which was more economical, and that finished the job.

I just found an odd one that works. Not all natural but better than steroids. My dogs are allergic to all the junk in the grass. One has the last end of a yeast infection, the other one itches. Poor thing. It drives her crazy. I've tried a million things to help her. A couple of weeks ago I thought well, itching, yeast infection. I bought some Vagisil. Spread it on her back, let it sit for a few minutes, rinsed it off, it's doing the trick. Very surprised. Thank you Dr. Jones & Tula. You're just too much fun!😊

Now the itchy subject: lick the itch away! and yes, lots of prescribed medications don't work .... i once used coconut oil (paste) and it really relieved the itch like when you put icy cold water on the itch. Licorice is new to me.

Thank you sooo much for this, been suffering here for a while now with same condition, have not yet used oil of licorice. You saved my cat with elderberry syrup..As I could no longer afford a vet, I found you, not to mention the fact I sure would rather use a natural alternative if at all possible.N ever had even occurred to me to check out alternative vets when I was able to afford them, makes me feel pretty inept. I am pretty sure your going to be saving me from a back that has now has limited me to organic cotton (costly).Already used organic household and personal products, tried everything I could find on my skin, but not the licorice oil, gotta go get some.Happy, hopeful, and thankful. Thank you - I'll try for a slightly itchy dog due to dry fall/winter start and first new winter coat growing /shedding adult coat for first time. Years ago I had an allergy to the back metal of my wrist watch. Horrible itching I could have scratched to the bone and found steroid cream OTC (2%) was worse: made my skin itchy and was also stinging badly. I imagine if dogs get steroid cream + cone they may go crazy as the burning and stinging feeling is added to the itchy feeling and they cannot say anything!

Whoa,,, Dr. Jones thanks so much for sharing,,, I must try your method ASA I can. U seems to understand what I have been going through since past few years with itching blisters on my low abdomen which seems to sprad to back (low back), sides of ribs cage & some low area of leg as well. The itching is so worse during middle of sleeping at night which cause to scratching with finger nails so bad until the skin opens up bleeding. Then there is pain because of the damaged skin due to accessive scratching with fingers nail. I have suspected becoming susceptive to SEAFOOD alleges since about 50 yrs old; now 65. N also any pills consisting of Omega-3 like fish etc,,, which I do need as supplements. I have tried followings to reduce the itchness :- - Vick Vapor cream ; Did help me calm the itchness but requires a lot of them to apply. (by the way, the Vick Vapor cream I used to empty was over 15 years old rolling around in my home. N it still worked to my surprise) - Colgate Total toothpaste ; It helped stop itching immediately, even the area with mosquito bites. But there was SIDE-EFFECTS to the skin of abdomen area which caused the abdomen skin became something like "thin layer of HARD-DRIED-GLUE" which area stared hurting !. Still, the arm area with mosquito bites where the same was applied did not have the SIDE-EFFECT, n still no itching. Also another use I found with COLGATE TOTAL tooth paste is that it DOES help me to fight off the TOE FUNGAL. Dipping the feet into vinegar mix seems to be a good method for TOE FUNGAL but its cumbersome process for me. So remembering seeing from some YT's comments, tried applying the toothpaste; COLGATE TOTAL, n found it to be very effective for recently developed feet; especially toe area, itching bad. After washing n scrubbing the feet & toe when taking shower, applied enough COLGATE TOTAL to all over the toe area covering toe-nails n in btwn toes. N put on new socks. Immediately the feet itching was gone. n also, it took immediate effect to a couple of fungus like HARD thing growing in btwn my toes on the right foot which started dissipate next day on. Right now, 1 of 2 HARD fungus is gone, n the other is reduced to almost like residue . So to counter the HARD-DRIED-GLUE like abdomen skin area, I spayed with hot-water when taking shower. First finsh the shower, then at the end before drying off, spayed the HARD-DRIED-GLUE like skin area of the abdomen with steamy HOT water that I screamed HOT, HOT, HOT, but still NOT TOO HOT that your skin would be scorched with HOT-water-BURN. Then rub off the HARD-DRIED GLUE like skin area; It peeled-off little by little with hurting further. - HOT SHOW WATER applied to the itching blister area (NOT TOO HOT to scorch the skind to burn) but just enough to turn the skin "RED" which eliminates the itching over-night while sleeping temporarily. It's just my experience recent years FYR. GOD bless for your all good works,,,

I have a 5 year old Westie (he's my third) and has skin allergies which my Vet has prescribed Apoquel. It has helped him for the most part but for some reason this time of year is the worst time for him. He has a yeasty smell and alot of irritation and dark pinkness on his belly and joint areas. I bathed him tonight in Selsun Blue shampoo and tried spraying some green tea, apple cider vinegar and some peppermint essential oil mixture on those areas once he was dry after the bath. He has licked alot of the fur off one of his paws. I also tried putting some Clotrimazole Cream on him. I just saw this video with the Licorice Root, coconut oil and tea tree oil and not sure which you think is best. Could you please advise?

I've gotten an itchy neck and the outside corners of my eyes. I have been trying only one thing at a time to not confuse myself. I tried coconut oil first because I am very fond of it! I am using a vitamin C cream right now. I have a few rough patches on my neck which make me think it's eczema. When your video popped up in my search (I am a subscriber) I remembered the thyme oil I used on my doggy when he was waking me up scratching! I found it in the pet section at my vitamin store. It worked very well, extremely fast and lasted for hours so that we got some sleep! Anyway, I'm going to try it on my neck after I read or watch a little more! I am very careful not to get anything IN my eyes.😊 I just thought it might help someone else.👍

Soak in a warm bath with colloidal oatmeal. It's great for relieving the itching. I also use a homemade body butter I made with shea butter and pure zinc oxide powder mixed in. it works wonders. :)

I love plain shea butter for most things skin it feels so think and kind of heavy and by the time you wonder if it is going to soak in it magically has. It is great for dermatitis.

This is about thev3rdvtime you have saved me .and my dog. I am avoiding steroid shots for severe poison ivy. Oatmeal and honey worked. Cider vinegar diluted with water helped a lot. Last week coconut oil inflamed the early break out

I think pure anise oil will work since licorice comes from anise. I'm making some now for my neighbor's dog.

My dog gets the yeast or fungal itch on her legs feet and butt..I personally think its an allergy to grass especially wet grass but there is no other place for her to releave herself. Can I use this mixture on her ..? I have tried the vinger solution on her but #1 she hates it #2 she still bites and scratchs at the area...if so whats the best way to use it just rub it on ???

I made a simple paste of Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay and Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar with mother and coated my poison ivy with it. It took the itching away quickly, and healed the rash in less than a week. I kept it coated the whole time, but took off with luke warm water and reapplied 1-2 times daily.
