I actually purchased this from Hocus Pocus and immediately sent it back. IN MY OPINION, it was grossly overpriced, the coins did not unload as easily as expected and the glass was chipped. To say I was disappointed would be a gross understatement. I was soooo looking forward to including this in my show. Kudos, however, to Hocus Pocus for allowing me to return it.
I had the pleasure to chat with Chris Capeheart during my visit to the Magic Castle and he was a very friendly and generous with his time. My wife and I had travelled specifically to see him and he did not disappoint. Amazing Misers dream routine! I am a frequent buyer from Hocus Pocus but when I saw this, I passed due to the price. I have a similar glass and kind of figured this was the same but with the addition of something special to be able to show the bottom.
Thanks for the review. I think anybody contemplating Miser Dream should look at Chris Capeheart or Robert Baxt for strong routines that involve much stronger elements than a glass. Plus nowhere near the cost. The sound aspect is very important so using gimmicked coins and glass I think might compromise this aspect. Plus glass breaks. Buying a "clever " prop doesn't warrant breaking away from the standard.
At that price, it's a miser's nightmare 😉 Excellent review, though. Plenty of information to make a sensible buying decision, and that's exactly what we need.
Silly overpriced. Amazon sells WSNMING 10 Pcs Steel Morgan Dollar for $14.95. I use a clear plastic champagne bucket ($20?). I learned Misner’s dream with Ryan Hayashi. We spent 4 hours one on one going over handling, moves, subtleties, audience management, script. One page PDF? Really? $195?
Abbott's sold this better and cheaper in my opinion. Pro tip... keep it out of the sun and heat. You can buy a metal one less than $20. I loved capehart. Bought three ring routine. Lost all respect on kidshow vid. From start recommends lying. Literally turned my stomach. I want kids to be treated fairly. His excuse, they know magicians lie. Maybe Chris does, I don't. Sorry... this "triggers" me on so many levels.
