Magic Ring Single Crochet for Beginners | Step-by-Step Magic Circle Tutorial

In today's tutorial I am showing you the very first crochet skill needed to crochet in the round - the magic ring. Also known as the magic circle, this skill is required for beginners to be able to crochet amigurumi and other popular items.
In this video I am going to show you a quick and easy technique to form the magic ring or magic circle, and how to single crochet (double crochet in UK terminology) into it to start your pattern.
I have done this at a beginner's pace, so hopefully this slow motion tutorial is helpful. Let me know down in the comments if you have any questions and if there are any beginner's tutorials you would like to see.

This is absolutely the clearest video and explanation I have seen yet, but I still just can't seem to get it. The yarn feels so loose in my hands and I can't seem to keep hold of anything in a way that stops it all from sliding all over the place! I'm going to keep watching and trying. You just make it LOOK so easy, I don't know why my hands won't do what yours do!

Thank you for the video! I've tried half a dozen "beginner" tutorials for magic ring and was struggling for days, but they didn't help at all, I've always ended up with wrong result. The pace of your video is so much more comfortable, and I could actually see what you're doing. This way I realised where I made the mistake (I was pulling the yarn through the loop twice, not once, which was super hard and plainly wrong). I've praticized for about an hour, and now I can make a neat magic ring in 2 minutes. Thank you!

why are my stitches moving in the opp direction??? after making the magic circle qhen i try to include the tail to make the next chains the knots keep going back rather than moving ahead and that kind of chain pattern is not formed!!!! 😭😭😭 somebody pls help!!??
