OMG finally!!! I've been hoping someone post this for YEARS... I had this & several other MTG tournaments from ESPN on a VHS tape I used to watch religiously, the majority of those events not being anywhere online... SO THANK YOU SO MUCH for this upload!!! (This 1 was particularly important to me because I was there, not just @ the event, but watching the finals live in person)
Thank you for uploading these, I just watched them all! When I first saw them, I taped them on VHS, which are long gone, and streamed the Finkel vs Maher match over AOL dial up. Those were the days.

YT ate my comment. I'm guessing because of the link, so I'll have to post this without references: According to an Inquest article from the time, Budde top-decked that Armageddon. If that's true, it's still puzzling -- when he discarded Armageddon and Chimeric Idol to Mageta, which two cards did he think were more important? He played a Rishadan Port on his next turn. It seems quite likely that was one of the three cards he still had in hand after discarding to Mageta. But I have no idea what the other two might be -- he doesn't play another card until the Armageddon at the end.
