This may be one of my favorite places you have ever visited! The magical mountain village setting, the lush and varied greenery, the historic Moorish architecture and stunning tiles and bright colors- I could spend months there just absorbing it all.Had never heard of Sintra before so it was wonderful to experience it.I love Portugal!

Nice to see you back in Portugal. You missed Quinta da Regaleira and Monserrat Palace. You have to go back to Sintra (Lord Byron "Glorious Eden") to visit both, specially Quinta da Regaleira with all the masonic simbology including the spiral Iniciatic well. D. Fernando II (Ferdinand Sax-Coburg Von Gotha) was a Bavarian prince that married the portuguese Queen. When she died he become King with the name Fernando II. The Pena Palace is like the bavarian palaces from the mad King Ludwig II, like the Neuschwanstein Palace (model for Disney castles).

Palácio da Vila (the one with the big chimneys) and Palácio da Pena had big restoration works quite recently, that's why they look so new. They are uniqueand the place itself is magical. By the way, the little chocolate cup is filled with "ginginha", a cherry liqueur much appreciated with the final touch of eating the chocolate cup. It's a heavenly conbination!

Sintra is so special to me as I was fortunate enough to spend 20 days there, each year, at Summercamp, ages 6-12; all paid for by one of my parent's employer (otherwise wouldn't have happened). Every morning after breakfast, we would descend and ascend 365 steps along the high cliffs, where there are footprints of dinosaurs to this day, to get to Praia Grande. I simply have no words to describe the nostalgia and beautiful memories your video brought back to me. When I lived in 🇵🇹 before moving to 🇨🇦, I lived approx. 20 minutes away from Sintra. When I meditate and go to 'my happy place', this is where my mind goes. Although I was there many, many times, I never saw an aerial view as beautiful as yours. No wonder Sintra was declared a UNESCO Word Heritage site! Keep enjoying life, beautiful couple!

I live 5 min from Sintra, it really is a magical place and you visited like 10% of it....there so much more hidden magical places, gardens, forests, lakes, rivers, creeks, waterfalls, mountain tops with amazing views including views of endless sea, beautifull beaches surrounded by clifs, hidden bars, bistros, efc...more e more to see in Sintra! At least the next time you go to Sintra, go visit "Quinta da Regaleira"..it is magical...and it is about 20 min from the train station by foot! You can also go to "Cabo da Roca"...amazing mountains and view from endless sea...particulary beautiful at sunset! To go there you have the bus, that you can catch right there at the train station of Sintra. A lot to explore in Sintra! Sorry for my poor english😅 I am portuguese 🇵🇹 and i welcome you guys 👍🏻 have fun

Hello, I will visit Portugal for vacation in mid March. Is there many tourists then already? Also, what is the best way to get around fast in Sintra? I only have 1 day in Sintra, but I would like to see Pena Palace and especially Quinta da Regaleira. If I visit these two sights, I probably will not have time for Moorish Castle Walls?

Hey you've finally made it to my hometown! So pleased as I asked you so many times....😊 Yes you do need to go back as there is also the "Regaleira Palace" you were so close to it when you showed all the leaves in a small courtyard. The garden has an inverted well which is amazing! Another palace to visit is Monserrate Palace. Their gardens are all stunning! Obviously better to visit in the spring as there will be very rare and beautiful plants/flowers. Very pleased to see you again and thank you for the lovely video. 😊👍

Whatever you do in Portugal, don't use the hop-on hop-off buses in Lisbon or Sintra! I've been on these buses in Dublin, Rome, Paris and San Diego and they are a great way to see the city. But both my experiences with these buses in Lisbon and Sintra were absolute disasters! In Lisbon it was chaos personified. You can buy a ticket with no problem, but getting onto the bus is a nightmare. We stood in the hot sun for 45 minutes waiting for a bus at the starting point. They simply didn't have enough buses. Once on-board, the narration audio didn't work and the bus driver didn't stop at any of the assigned stopping points, even when were pressed the "Stop" button. In Sintra, there were no signs indicating the pick-up point and I watched the driver pass several people who tried to flag him down, even though there was plenty of room on the bus. Portugal's hop-on hop-off buses are a massive rip-off. Don't take my word for it. Check the Travelocity reviews. They are consistently rated one or two stars by travelers.

Hey! You're back in Portugal. That's when we found you and started subscribing. You do a great job of balancing info about the locations, about yourselves, beauty and relaxing energy. Super well done channel. Here's a suggestion for a video someday when you need content but may not have any. You did this before but I think you could touch on it again. The topic; how the hell do you get such great footage with just a gopro? Questions- (not to answer here but maybe in a future video.) Which gopro do you have? What are your settings? Do you zoom in editing somehow? The gopro itself shoots pretty wide. For the audio is it only the gopro mic? Etc, etc. I have a gopro and am envious at what you create. You make it look easy, but I'm sure it's not. Seriously... good work and thanks!

The reason a lot of rich people left Portugal was in 1974 after the carnation revolution. There was a wealth elite, while most ordinary Portuguese were in deep poverty. After the revolution a lot of the rich just fled almost overnight. Many went to Brazil. There are hundreds of abandoned exclusive luxury homes now abandoned nearly 50 years. This is a fascinating country with a fascinating history where dramatic changes occurred in living memory in western Europe.

Portugal is famous for its typical seafood dishes, popular beach destinations, and 16th to 19th century architecture, from when this country was a powerful maritime empire. It's also known for its soccer legends, fado music, historical cities, and port wine.
