I reworked the export system to actually be more performant by having into account many of the limitations of python and taking advantage of function calls that under the hood tell blender to make use of some C level functionality that would speed things up for me.
Basically, went from taking over 1 minute to export a map with 540k triangles, to 8 seconds.
The map I showcase mostly in this channel is exported in about 0.67 seconds.
