I was gifted the Magimix 5100 17 years ago .I have the black version model to match my kitchen appliances. It has served me exceptionally well all these years and still going strong. You will enjoy using it I am sure!
I have just been the proud owner of a Magimix 5200 XL PREMIUM, when you compare the discs of the Magimix with those of a Kenwood for example, it's like comparing the wheels of a bicycle with those of a motorcycle competitive, impressive.
THANK YOU! Wrecked a blender and looking for a POWERFULL food processor. You showed me exactly what I wanted to know. Gonna buy this one allthough its very expensive imho. Thanks!!!
I came for the Magimix info, but stayed for the sheer joy (as a Scot) of listening to your wonderful hybrid accent! Please never lose that Scottish twang! Liked & Subbscribed 👍
Haha thank you Paul! My accent went a bit wonky while living in Canada, but we just recently moved back to Scotland so I won't be losing it any time soon!
Thank you so much for the kind words, I really appreciate it and I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. Hope you have lots of fun with your food processor, whichever one you choose! :)
This was a really nice demo. First step wash all parts except motor to remove manufacturing oils. I would not use dishwasher on disks or blades. I have a Cuisinart that is 50 years old. At least it is not 102 fahrenheit or 38.88 Centigrade or celsius.
Great video, I just ordered mine and am beyond exited! I'd love to see some more examples of how to use it for baking. I am horrible at it, but dream of making bread and pizza doughs - but my doughs always fail. Am hoping the Magimix can help me!
Thanks Erik! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I will definitely be making some more baking videos with the magimix in the future. From what I've seen so far it's a really great machine, so I'm sure you're going to love it. And hopefully you'll be making beautiful breads and pizzas in no time :). Thanks for watching!
nice review. i had a smaller version of this system and then i thought i want to move for a kitchenaid. but now that i watched a lot of videos i'm back again with the magimix 😂 just forget about the dishwasher-thing. If you do that frequently the plastic is going to be damaged.
I can confirm that the blades are sharp. When I first got mine I was washing the small bowl and forgot the mini blade was in the bowl. Sliced into my knuckle with no effort. Don't be me :-) I think you had better luck than I with the juicing attachments. I find the citrus press more trouble than it's worth. The centrifuge juicer does a good job but is such a pain to clean. That said I do love this food processor. The dicing attachment is pretty awesome too.
Hi Justin, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! The pistachio butter only has one ingredient - pistachios! I have a blog post all about how to make it here - bonnibakery.com/pistachio-butter-pistachio-paste/. Hope this helps! :)
I’m so happy for you! My Magimix FP is my favorite kitchen appliance ever. Image if you had used the blender ring when you did your lemonaid! (It’s mainly used to turn the machine into a blender for liquids.) Well done video!!
I see you're a Weck fan. Carrot-apple juice is delicious, especially if you juice a small piece of fresh ginger with it. I just ordered my 5200 XL but we don't have a Premium option in North America; I think it's arriving on Tuesday. Needless to say, I'm really excited. You ought to think of upping your stand mixer game with an Ankarsrum. There are lots of good demos here on RU-vid.
Thanks for doing this. I'm on the fence about buying one because I'm not sure how it is about making smoothies.I'm replacing a Kenwood machine. I used to use a juice extractor for apples/carrots etc and then then throw them in Kenwood blender with banana/mango etc to get a smoothie. Have you (or anyone) used the magi mix for smoothies?
Hi Michael, glad you found it helpful! I have - it can make smoothies but the texture is not quite the same as if you made them in a blender. Ironically I have actually since switched to using a Kenwood! I love the magimix for any kind of food processing, but I now use the new Kenwood Cooking Chef as my main appliance as it does a lot more things and does them really well. The blender attachment comes free with the machine (as well as the food processor attachment) and it is really good at smoothies. I do have a video about that one too if it would be helpful. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nfJuSQWZ0vY.htmlsi=1kEXZNN_LhEkfAKh Let me know if I can answer any further questions :)
Loved your film of the Magimix food processor. It helped me decide to buy it. I've got one question though about the apple rosetts. What kind of pastry did you use and for how long does it go in the oven?
Thanks so much for the demo… I’ve always wanted a food processor and had my on this model.. I’m DEFINITELY gonna buy this one. I’m genuinely excited… i like that this one looks easy to clean? Because, lets be honest, cleaning gadgets is never fun.
I'm so glad you found it helpful! I had been wanting to get a food processor for ages and couldn't find many decent demos on the Magimix so thought I'd just make one :D I'm super happy with it, it hasn't disappointed me once! And yeah I love being able to just throw everything into the dishwasher! Hope you enjoy yours when you get it :)
What a pity you did not show how the dough was turning in that thing. I remember I had the smaller machine and doing dough was like the machine was falling apart 😂 but nice review I have to say.
Oh that’s a good point! By that time I had so many things going I didn’t remember to film everything haha. It turned really nicely actually, but it was quite a soft dough anyway.
How long did it took to make the pistachio butter? I tried it on mine and it just wasn't turning into butter. It just look like sand. And I tried it for a long time turning it off to scraped the sides.
Thank you for this helpful Video. Was thinking about tp buy this for so long. But i could never try it. So i wasn't shure. And it's Not that cheap so i needed to think about it. But now with your Video, im really shure!!! Was struggeling between vitamix and magimix. But now, there is noch need anymore to think...🤩
Thanks for an awesome review!! Sorry I’m so late in finding it!! Quick question though - how easy is it to clean the the juicer attachment after using ie where all the pulp has been gathered. I’d like to buy the juicer as an add on but just wondered how easy the cleaning is as my traditional stand alone juicer as an absolute pain so I’ve given up using it!! 😬☺️
Hi Bonni, thanks for your video and your sense of humour! Does real good! Some recessions in Amazon claim that plastic parts are being mixed with it. What do you think? Is it maybe only at the beginning when the machine is new? Thanks in advance
Can you make a dough for savory dumplings in a food processor like this? I love to make chicken and dumplings but I struggle with getting the dumplings just right
Thank you so much for the video! You mentioned the juicer (extra press) has a different lid for juicing. Is this lid included in the premium or did you buy that separately?
I'm really glad I went for the 5200, it's a great size and can do a lot - but the small and medium bowls are still great if you don't need to do a lot. I will make an accessories video soon and show the spiraliser!
Na das ist ja lustig. Sie hat den Magimix bei euch gekauft. In Deutschland?
Okay can somebody please answer this question I am trying to make pastelillos. An I need me a real good food processor. with this be a real good food process to make pastelillosI. I'm just looking for a real good food processor with this make for the stuff that I have to make is with smooth.
Does your magimix seem wobbly to you? We just got the 4200 and it just doesn't seem as solidly locked in as the old KitchenAid we had. Our bowl squeaks on the base it wobbles so much.
Oh that's strange, mine doesn't wobble at all. Are you sure it's locked into place properly? I discovered quickly that it can only lock in from one direction, both the bowl and the lid. If it's definitely locked in and it's still wobbly then I'd maybe write to magimix or wherever you bought it from..
@@BonniBakery it definitely is locked or it wouldn't work, right? Safety features and all. I'll try chopping something else and then email I guess. Thanks! Loved your video!
Hello to a felllow Scot! :D. I grew up near Stirling, then lived in Glasgow for a while before moving to Vancouver, Canada. Now I'm living in Perthshire :)
I haven't tested it for this but I can't see why it wouldn't work, the motor is really powerful and the blades are super sharp. I think as long as you were doing a decent quantity of it, it should work okay :)
You make it look good, the company should hire you, but the sound is pretty LOUD noisy and annoying. Especially for those like us living in apartments, our neighbours would call the police on you.
you always tell when an expert tries to demonstrate how to use anything, they assume too much. I wanted to learn how to juice but she spent all of 3 seconds telling me what pieces you put in the machine. Please show us everything and assume nothing, show us exactly what goes where, all I have is a box of bits so please don't assume I automatically know where everything goes
Thank you for watching! I have a more recent video with the machine that I use now, in case you’re interested :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nfJuSQWZ0vY.htmlsi=xMJL-_nnBTIbuEyC
