At Quader, we prefer the clean aesthetic of a magnet-held pickguard and control plate. You will see that we routed the guitar body to fit the aluminum pickguard flush, securing everything in place with magnets.

Looks nice without the screw holes. I think instead of putting magnets on the Pickguard, all you need is some pieces of ferrous metal glued to the bottom of the Pickguard at the corresponding magnet location. Save yourself 4 magnets.
