Magneto is a character where if you don't think about his powers he might come across as lame, thinking he can just control metal. But in reality he controls one the fundamental forces of nature itself. They kinda low balled what he can potentially do which is fine since he already had a pretty hefty lead over Tetsuo.

Magneto is a VERY complicated character. He's literally a holocaust survivor who became everything he hated with his belief that Mutants are the next step in human evolution, while genuenly wanting the best for them And the fact that he has the power cause cataclismic events on a dime just means he can back up his threats Akira , the animated film, is definetly worth a watch. The animation alone is worth the price of admission.

Magneto is what you would call a "Well-Intentioned Extremist". His ultimate goals are good, it's his methods that are the main problem. But at the end of the day, he is still someone that can be reasoned and negotiated with. And he's still perfectly capable of empathy and compassion, as shown by his willingness to come to the defense of Xavier & the X-Men, even when there is no tangible benefit for him to do so. I know of one situation where Professor Xavier was seriously ill, so Magneto "kidnapped" him from the Xavier Institute in order to treat his illness and save his life. And when the X-Men showed up to get Xavier back, Magneto willingly allowed them to take Xavier home without a fight. He's not really "Evil" per se, he occupies more of a grey area, as he will generally leave you alone as long as he doesn't see you as a threat to himself or other mutants.

There was an old clip from the He-Man animation era judging by the style, and the Fantastic Four bluffed him into handcuffs with a wooden gun. Basically, he is a monkey man who trained to be become the strongest and challeged the gods after being denied an official role as part of the gods. Who also, ate the furits of immortality and erased his name from the scrolls of the river sticks so he couldn't die. But he was defeated by the Buddha and sealed in a rock for many years. Fun fact: Sun Wukong's design and personality have inspired modern anime characters. Like Goku from Dragon Ball, and Monkey .D Luffy from One Piece

To answer your question about Sun Wukong, yes, he is one of the main characters of Journey to the West. Wukong is the Monkey King, an incredibly impulsive and fight-happy stone monkey who spends the first few chapters of the book becoming immortal multiple times over, pissing off the entirety of heaven, and then beating the shit out of basically everyone that they send after him in retaliation. As for the next one, this is about the OGs, straight from Greek mythos and Journey to the West. From what I've heard, Herc has the most raw power between the two, but the Monkey King is a flying brick thanks to his seven layers of immortality.

Sun Wukong is the protagonist of Journey to the West, yeah. And the same one that Goku's based off of. And, I'm pretty sure the Death Battle between him and Hercules would be using the original, mythological versions of them, which is gonna be extremely interesting.

The next Death Battle seems incredibly one-sided to me, considering Sun Wukong is immortal five times over. Learned how to live forever through martial arts, crossed his name out of the Book of the Dead, ate an entire orchard of Peaches of Immortality, drank several kegs of wine made from the same, and also consumed dozens of pills of immortality as well.

The application of magneto power is pretty insane, if you think of it as magnetism includes electromagnetic force being the one of the four fundamental force the universe. To put it in perspectives magneto can technically oneshot hulk and Superman with hulk being composed of gamma radiation and gamma is part of electromagnetic spectrum and Superman reliance on the sun can be effected by magneto Electromagnetic Spectrum powers as well. That not included the many levels of Electromagnetism that magneto can achieve or all the non-scientific applications that magneto could theoretically can use with magnetism such as Esoteric Magnetism which just mystical magnetism. Scary part is that magneto is an omega level mutant of magnetism which by definition mean he has an undefinable upper limit and you combine that with his genius level so you know he smart enough to use that power to it full effect, he can possibly be the most powerful mutant on the planet barring the reality warpers.

Hercules VS Sun Wukong will be the first Death Battle to have two mythological legends face off against each other (Greek mythology VS Chinese mythology)

My favorite part was the later part of the fight after Tetsuo transformed. Amongst the chaos of his mind as body mutated out of control he cried out for a savior, and Magneto answered ending his pain and even showed sympathy towards him Also Magneto is in Every X-Men movie aside from most of the Wolverine solo movies and both his actors Ian McKellen and Michael Fassbenser (playing a younger Magneto) do amazing

Sun Wukong....actually has an interesting tibit. He is from the chinese story of "Journey into the west" which is the typical heroes journey. But the most interesting thing is....the story was one of the inspirations for Dragon Ball. Sun Wukong in term was the basis for Goku (well before super saiyan) While Goku (early on) had a tail....Wukong was basically a giant monkey

Also remember there has been a boxing death battle before that you reacted too. Aldo they did tell you before the fight that the creating a alternate universe was just in the animated version.

11:00 I will admit something: the first time I saw Tetsuo’s grotesque transformation, I was scarred until now.

As he said in the X-Men arcade game, "I AM MAGNETO, MASTER OF MAGNET" Love both characters alot but I knew Mags had this one. Tetsuo is strong but Magneto is on another level. The original marvel comic crossover, Secret Wars, actually had him teamed up with the heroes, despite everything he had done/was doing at the time, because his cause is truly a just one. Plus his backstory of being a holocaust survivor makes him a fascinating character.

I love the expressions they made for the sprites. You can see that Magneto starts out annoyed, gets angry, then is horrified by Ego Death. Then as soon as he realizes Tetsuo subconsciously is begging for help, nothing can stop him. After the mercy kill, he's mentally and physically exhausted. Whoever did the spritework needs a raise. Also, it's entirely possible Magneto was in Japan looking for Quicksilver's killer.

To explain the Hercules thing in the Greek mythology, Hercules had to do Feats for a king to prove his godhood and be allowed to Mt. Olympus. One of them was to get an apple from a large tree which the only beings able to reach it, were titans. So to get it done, he assisted Atlas, the Titan who holds the sky, by holding the sky for a bit for Atlas so he could both rest a bit, and get the apple for Hercules. While the feat isn't scale-able, it's still an impressive feat.

And I gotta be honest, I'm curious to see how they ended the next one considering both Hercules and Wukong are immortal deities. Fun fact, with Hercules being created around 600 BC and Sun Wukong being created in 1592, they are the oldest combatants in the show in terms of real-life age.

The reason the 1988 Akira animes ending wasn’t canon is because the creator didn’t finished the manga’s ending at that time. He only completed only half of the series. So that’s why they have to make their own ending for Akira. While they finished the movie adaptation,he went back to finish the manga and completed the actual ending for Akira. As you saw the two differences between the anime and manga. Seriously you should definitely watch Akira. It’s a anime masterpiece,but only pick the original English dub version. Yes, Sun Wukong, also known as the Monkey King, is from Journey to the West. Probably the most famous figure of Chinese mythology. He'll be going against one of the most famous figures from Greek/Roman mythology, Hercules. I'm not sure how they'll make this work when going with the myth versions though since a lot of a lot is up to interpretation and since they come from real world religions, followers of each religion will likely interpret their own as stronger.

I can't wait for you to do Hercules vs Sun Wukong. Sun Wukong has long since my favorite character from mythology.

Sun Wukong is a Chinese god that the journey to the west includes, allot of things are inspired from him from Goku in DBZ to the character of the same name from RWBY, even the power Son uses in RWBY are references to the character, from his staff weapon to making clones of himself.
