The distance underneath the tray to the table is 4mm. Using the 1.5mm magnets under the tray means there isn’t enough pull to adhere to a steel plate. I suggest using between two and four 4mm tall magnets underneath the tray, or two at cross corners.
impressive...I've done it a bit different..."but" I think your way is easier...I've put magnets on the bottom of the figures and then glued thin metal discs inside the trays...that is pretty effective but it doesn't magnetize the tray...I get the discs from Etsy, 200 for about $4...I think I'm going to try your way...much gratitude...
I use the same sterilite boxes, except i've been riveting roofing flash into them. I highly appreciate the super glue tips, like the baking soda and accelerant. I'll have to try those out since i have had a few of my magnets pull off.
Nice vid! I do more or less the same thing, but I glue ferrous adhesive sheets from themagnetshop to the bottom of my boxes instead of straight up metal.
