YES to Mcgee & Co video!! And for stains try spraying with some stain remover like OxiClean and then while it's still wet lay it in full sunlight for as many hours of the day as you can. This is a trick mamas who use cloth diapers use 😉

I am literally rewatching your videos because the content is so great! You could paint the hamper lid fabric that was stained! Either a light spray paint coat or a little dabbed acrylic paint would disguise the stain. That lid is not going to need to be laundered much and it was so cute! I always say: the eye sees contrast. If the stain is subtle, you can disguise it so no one (including you!) will notice it. The same is true for scratches on dark surfaces, scuff marks, etc! A perfect match is often not needed. Just fool the eye!

Love these great diys. If you are unable to remove the stains on the laundry basket lid, my suggestion would be to use the IOD fabric transfers and decorate over the stain. Hopefully that would hide the stain and add some charm/character to the lid. I am definitely going to attempt the olive branch wreath, love everything in this video!!

@someonewhoknows1891
@someonewhoknows1891 Год назад
The stain removal option I found on RU-vid is mixing baking soda, peroxide, and Dawn dish detergent into a paste and letting it soak into the stain. I even take my fingernail and just massage it into the fibers m. If it doesn’t completely come out the first time, I don’t put it through the wash and go back with a second application, and let it sit and make sure it’s moist. If somebody had told me the stains that it would get out, I would’ve been hard-pressed to believe all of it if I have not used it myself. I’ve been able to get old grease stains out of some things.

Re the laundry basket lid liner spot you washed 2x, to no avail; if the stain doesn't go all the way thru to the "wrong" side of the fabric, turn the wrong side out, finish the seams or just trim close if they don't look like the seam edge will ravel & fray and it may take care of the eye sore.

@julianne089
@julianne089 Год назад
For the laundry basket lid, if the peroxide stain remover mix (suggested in the comments) doesn’t work you might try a flour sack towel. (If it’s too white compared to the rest you can dye it with a little coffee in water) and just sew it to the existing side bands. If the handle isn’t stained you can remove that and sew it to the new top...

Love the recreations! A solution of dawn dish soap, peroxide, and baking soda will get the stain right out of the fabric for the lid. Make a paste like consistency, apply it to the stain, let it sit for 30 minutes, then wash. Usually gets the job done.

Loved it all. Plus the encouragement to try to thrift dive with inspiration. Actually, brilliant to go with a plan!! PS. When your put real floral or botanicals in water, do your best to only have stems in the water. No flora or leaf. It helps keep the water from going funky! I always strip the rose leaves from the base up as I cut each day to maintain freshness. By the end of their vase life there are no leaves left. 😉Nekkid. XO

Love your dupes - I'm determined to try the black and cinnamon and nutmeg vase from many videos ago. I'm fortunate to have a bins store in my area that gets mostly Target overstocks so I actually got 2 of the olive leaf wreaths at $5 each. If you've already tried carbona on the stain to no avail I would suggest recreating the cover from drop cloth - should be able to get a similar look especially if you wash the drop cloth first. Blessings!

Fia, as always I love every one of these ideas! You are forever blowing my mind! 😂 I use regular blue Dawn or the spray Dawn & peroxide let it sit for a little bit then wash it but I normally put a couple of little tiny amounts of bleach in my washer if I’m washing whites or off whites that have stains… don’t put the items in until after the bleach is in the water and mixed a little… just a thought.

I soak all whites/stained items in OxyClean, & if that doesn't do it...bleach pen next to the sink, rinse the instant the stain is gone. If that doesn't work I call it "distressing!" Love the tray best, the Rustoleum Heritage White in satin finish is my go-to spray paint. I bought a whole case of it, now if it would just get warm enough to spray paint..!
