Tom Selleck as Thomas Magnum in at his peak as a young, and flamboyant Pi… amusing that the actor, Lance LaGault, who played Newton here was then later casted as Thomas’ former commanding officer, Colonel Buck Greene later in the series… often happens that some actors later are recast as other characters who become mainstays, such also Jeff Mackay, who was the gate guard ‘Skis’ in the plot tv movie, then later as Lt. Mac MacReynolds… if you’re an OG Magnum Pi fan, you would see several of the recognizable characters on the show were former minor actors or ‘extras’. 😎

Loved this show..........it aired at 9pm on Saturday evenings in South Africa. The gun stuff was totally stupid though. I can't believe that any American could believe that a private eye would go to a dangerous place on their only with eight rounds of ammunition and nobody else to back them up.
