Well done to Magnum Panels for not only the accuracy of the side but allowing consideration of the fitting and spot welding. I approve of any company producing anything that keeps the Mk l's going.

The original saloon did have a one piece bodyside, but I don't think the van did.

I have just had a look for this panel. It retails at £636, whereas the rear quarter, sill, "A" post panel, "A" post and "B" post door jamb panels bought separately total £155. Unless they get more realistic with their prices they will struggle to recoup their tooling costs.

The first batch sold out immediately, there is no shortage for demand and cost has nothing to do with it for most. It may be cheaper to buy the seperate panels but assembling them accurately and making a nice job of it costs way more than the difference in cost if you are paying to have it done for you

@@mdf2mdf287 Well double check your prices as you cannot get a mk1 quarter panel that cheap. they're over £270 and you cannot get a B post at all

@@PWCV-YT Ok, lets have a see, I was prepared to let it go, but hey ho. Magnum Car panels catalogue. Inner door jamb part no 40-12-40-1 = £18.90 Door jamb part no 40-12-40-5 = £35.04 "A" panel external part no 40-10-35-1 = £15.78 Doorstep part no 40-10-40-1 = £19.80 Sill part no 40-10-00-1 = £23.88 Rear quarter part number 40-12-51-1 = £62.98 TOTAL = £152.50 Saving = £483.50 Allowing 2 hrs to set body on jig, 4 hours longer in labour to fit than your bank loan panel, at £40 ph means I am in pocket to tune of £243 and if both sides to be done savings would be £486. Lets leave it at that shall we. I am not trying to be horrid, in fact if I get more work than I can handle I will point people in your direction.

Very good to see that at last a very good MK1 side panel, what's the price like, the door is the problem with the fit as I have had from gappy on all edges to tight and no gap. Regards Doug.

It’s just missing details being one panel, the A panel sits on top of the frame panel and I’m pretty sure at the door top rear corner there is a joint on the original panel so not ideal if your trying to keep originality 👍

No, the details are correct, I'd have mentioned them if they weren't. that was the whole point of a product review comparing them to an original Genuine BMC new old stock part while we had the opportunity. Van, PIckup and Mk3 onward were as you describe, Mk1&2 were always a one piece "monoside" pressing

@@neilwharton720 They are correct for the Mk1 side panels. The external hinge panels were separate sections as you alluded to.
