If I'm not mistaken, this is the game where Magnus played with Beer Goggles. There's a full video on Levy's channel. It's extremely difficult to see through these, as they aim to simulate vision while you 're really drunk.
I think there should be ratio change. I feel like chessboard is too small and commentary too big. Plus the end was a bit desynced. The board was a bit late. I'm so rooting for this app! Make it great!
I disagree. I think the board is too small if people were meant to play on that, but since this app seems to just be for watching games, I think it's a reasonable size.
I actually like how it’s set up with Magnus bigger since it’s not every day you get to watch him analyze a game with Gotham like this. Even in vertical phone mode I can see the board just fine. To each his own I guess.
@@NewUser000NewUsernot at all, normally in big tournaments i would understand having a live commentator in the corner, focusing on the ongoing match and possible decisions, drawing complicated sidelines on the board, maybe going back and forth, but for this pretty clear analysis with a rare guest and a match that was already seen by many, i can absolutely get the decision to swap the commentator - chessboard ratios for once
Magnus, PLEASE do a video with Magnus Mitbø (number 1 Norwegian rock climbing champ) He has a big channel and I think he'd be glad to collab with you on a video to promote your app. Rock climbing is very mentally intensive like chess, I think you two have compatible personalities, and it would make an interesting video for content. Magnus x Magnus needs to happen. Plus it can be a fun hobby to pursue (if you want to keep in good shape). I always see people mix your names up, so it would be funny to see you guys attempt each other's sport. Mitdbo loves challenging new disciplines and is insanely talented much like yourself.
sry but what content would that be? a rock climber not playing chess or a chess player not climbing rocks? just enjoy both for what they are buddy. no need to mix what isn't remotely close.
@@TNM001 I just think it would be an interesting novelty video. The chess champion tries bouldering to see what the highest grade is he can climb. Maybe not to promote the app or play chess. I think he would just be an interesting guest on the channel, to see a Magnus bouldering. Plus they're both Norwegian Magnus's. I know it's a weird suggestion, but would be fun. :)
The idea of the app in of itself is ambitious and great, might need to a couple of tweaks with the interface but once you overcome this, it'll set off nicely
It's so crazy how carlsen thinks just like the others well in my mind but on the board it's like fight a fkin wall that turns up at the end that's where carlsen strive very late mid and endgame
the comments on the app on the moves need to be formatted a bit better, theres the moves under the commentry that gets cut off sometimes and although i can see the moves visually on the board above it, id still want to see all information if you are showing it to not be cut off from viewing. also id like to be able to resize the board if i want without it snapping back to the set size.
I love how this has 1,700 likes and only 4 dislikes. Great to see Magnus recapping and taking the time to go through this game with Levy especially with how much love and respect Levi has for chess and for Magnus
Levy played Magnus once before the drunk goggles game. It's on the gotham channel. Edit: The video titled "My only game against Magnus" from 3 years ago (at time of comment)
How come this video didn't come up on the app as available to watch as a link? Is this something going forward that will be added... Great game by the way.
Why does the evaluation says +10 at the end, where it should said M2 or something? At some point the evaluation says +100, does this means inevitable checkmate?
I get that this is showing off the app, but it's a poor game coverage. It's mainly a matter of focus, Magnus having to look at his phone is distracting because we immediately think that we should focus on the small board but that conflicts with the attention that needs to be given to Magnus' analysis. The text commentary is another distraction, it's nice in the app but we shouldn't need it since Magnus is here. I think Magnus needs better materials to work with to give play by play so we can focus more on his analysis and the story around the game. Tweak the board size and try to use subdued lights and sounds to highlight key points and larger phases like openings and end games so layman like me can figure things out without losing focus on Magnus' storytelling/analysis. Anyway, keep it up. I hope to be watching more in the future.
@@IDMYM8I would say it depends on what their goals are for Take Take Take. I assumed the goal was trying to grow the appeal of the pro scene and make content less dense and more easily digestible. Increasing mass appeal through short form analysis of high level/profile gameplay. I only really watch chess videos that show up in my feed, but I felt Magnus did alright in this regard. If the goal of this video wasn't a preview of their short form analysis I would be even more concerned since the better content would have been the more social aspects surrounding the game and how he felt about it. However, there was next to nothing about Levy challenging him if he was drunk or even him wearing the beer goggles during this game. Honestly, some details like these should be there regardless so people can understand the relevence/importance of these games.
I saw this on the Take Take Take app first, but I was a bit confused about the goggles. I would like to see more of an explanation of what the goggles do to make things so difficult. I would also like to see how many beers it will take for Levy to win in a match where magnus drinks after each victory.
Levi a while back when interviewing magnus ask how drunk he would have to be to lose a game to him, magnus said they would have to start at 20 and go from there. The goggles were to emulate being drunk, and how he would see the board, instead of actually getting drunk.
Specifically, those goggles give you double-vision, but multiplied. To Magnus, it would look like 4 or 5 boards overlapping each other while playing. The idea of the goggles are to simulate how a very drunk person sees, being unable to focus their vision properly. Do not try if you're prone to motion sickness.
I found it by going to Levy's video of this game on my phone and clicking the link to the app store. I couldn't find it by just searching for it either.
I know the idea is to make it seem like Magnus is using the app, but I'd much prefer a proper computer and talking head recap than trying to use the phone.
I got some ideas for the app for a new evaluation bar: I think you should add a gray draw probability sector between the black and white win probability sector. It would be nice to also consider your time left and your opponents time left for the evaluation Both ideas could be turned off or on in the options menu I hope someone sees this comment
